Daily Roundup 11/21 – Big Movie Day Today, Next Week’s Patreon Re-Watch, Special Forces Finale, Another Unbelievable Reader Email, & Twitter DM’s I Just Discovered This Week

You are listening to the Daily Roundup here as part of the Reality. Steve Podcast, I’m your host reality. Steve, thank you all for tuning in on this Friday, a very, very big Friday. Not only. Is it the debut of the First Live rewatch on my Patreon channel? But what else am I going to see today, this afternoon?

You know what it is. I announced last night on my Instagram story, what the rewatch is gonna be for next week. I’m excited about that. We’re gonna talk about Special Forces season finale last night. Definitely a little bit surprised about that. A very, very just unbelievable email. That I received, it has to do with the Brad Gilmore interview from yesterday, but kind of also the Brad Gilmore interview that I did from 2020.

And this email is awesome. And then I want to get into something about my Twitter dms. We will get started right now on this. So, as you know tonight, eight o’clock cent, uh, excuse me, eight o’clock Eastern time, seven Central six Pacific, six mountains, five Pacific. On my Patreon channel patreon.com/reality.

Steve, you can either sign up for a month, $5 or sign up for a full year. Tonight’s gonna be the first live rewatch that we do, and we’re gonna do it on back to the future, as you know. And obviously I understand that not everybody can get in right at eight o’clock if you’re a member. Some of you might not even be able to get in tonight because you just, that that time doesn’t work for you, but you signed up because you wanna be able to, you know, get the Thursday interviews early or get any other content early.

Uh, but this is the only exclusives, at least as of right now, that I’m gonna have on the Patreon channel is these live rees. So tonight, I mean, I’m not gonna like start at 8 0 1 in terms of starting the movie. I’m gonna talk a little bit. Have a little fun in the chat. Watch the trailer for Back to the Future.

That came out in 1985, and then we’ll get into watching the movie. But the other thing I have going today, and I’m doing this afternoon, is I’ve waited a year and I’ve stayed away from spoilers, is I’m going to see Wicked for Good this afternoon. And. I’ll be back by about five central, so it’ll gimme plenty of time to get ready for the live.

But yeah, I’m excited. Um, as I told you, saw wicked twice in the theaters last year. When it came out, I knew nothing about it. Even though I had seen the play in the early two thousands at Pantages, I just had forgotten everything, so I don’t know anything. I was so blown away by the part one did all the deep dives.

Told you at the time that Cynthia Arrivo and Ariana Grande should win. Best actress and best supporting actress, John Chu should win. Best Director. None of it happened. John Chu wasn’t even nominated. Cynthia and Ariana were neither of them won, but I was just, I, I couldn’t believe it. Like I’m, I, I said to Brad yesterday, I’m not a huge musical guy.

I’ve seen like four now in my lifetime. I’ve seen Phantom. I’ve seen Wicked, even though I don’t remember any of it. I’ve seen, obviously back to the future, earlier this year, and I think there was one other one in there that I’m forgetting. I never saw Les Mis, gosh, I’m totally blanking, but I know I’ve seen Phantom.

I know I’ve seen Back to the future. I know I’ve seen Wicked. Maybe it’s only three anyway, but. I didn’t know what to expect when I saw Wicked Part One last year, and I just couldn’t believe how awesome it was. I mean, everybody that’s seen it, has anybody not liked that movie? I mean, you’ve got your film critics, they’re gonna nitpick the cinematography and the juxtaposition of it just shut up.

Did you like the movie or not? So I, um, I waited. I got back from that movie, did deep dives, but any, any time I came across anything during a deep dive that might’ve given the plot for what happens in the second part, I stayed away from it. So today I am finally gonna get my answers that I’ve waited a year for.

So I’m very, very excited about that. And then I come home and I’m gonna be even more excited to rewatch back to the future for the 1000000000th time. So looking forward to everybody joining tonight. That can, there’ll be a live chat going in that maybe afterwards we’ll take some questions. I do think we’re gonna have a rewatch of back to the future part two and part three, probably before the end of the calendar year.

I can’t tell you what day it’s gonna be. They’re not always gonna be on Friday nights, but it will happen now yesterday. On my Instagram stories, I decided, and this is something that I’ve said, I’ve been starting to make a list of Rees that I want to do. I said, we’re gonna do some classic movies from the eighties and nineties, and we’re gonna do some classic TV episodes.

Ones that, not only that I loved, but I think that a lot of you either have heard about, have seen or just talked about, because there’s memes about it online. So next week, at some point, I don’t know when it’s going to be. But we are going to do a rewatch of Saved by the Bell, the episode where Jesse Spano ods on caffeine pills.

Okay, maybe she doesn’t OD on them, but she gives literally one of the worst acting performances I’ve ever seen because she’s all hyped up on caffeine pills because she wants to get into college and she has to study for her tests. Now you gotta remember. This is a half hour show that aired on Saturday mornings, and I have the episode with no commercials, so this is gonna be something really quick.

Obviously back to the Future, tonight I believe is an hour and 56 minutes. That one next week is gonna be 22 minutes long to go over that episode and watch it, but it’s still gonna be fun to watch and rewatch and just cringe at the acting. I mean, it is just awful to the 10th degree yet. You can’t take your eyes off it.

So that’s gonna be the rewatch for next week, and there’s a good chance that one’s probably gonna happen kind of in the middle of the day, like almost like two or three o’clock in the afternoon. And like I said, I know not everybody’s gonna be able to make every live as it’s happening, but once it’s recorded, it goes up on my Patreon channel and you can go back and watch it whenever you want.

So that one’s coming next week. I’ve got another few episodes from other shows lined up that I know I wanna watch at some point on the rewatch. So. Get ready for those. If you’ve listened to my podcast long enough, you probably know what shows they’re coming from. By the way, that’s not gonna be the only Saved by the Bell episode we watch.

I mean, the thing about Saved by the Bell is all those episodes were so corny and so cringey. You could pick out any one and do a rewatch of it, but I’m trying to think of like the most memorable ones Of all the shows that I watched growing up. So will there be a 9 0 2 1 oh episode on a rewatch?

Absolutely. But it’s not easy to pick which one is the best ones to single out. And I don’t know, we’re just gonna, we’re just gonna have to wait and see. There’s, there’s certain ones that I’ve already written down that I know I’m doing, but you know, I’m open to suggestions and. But you have to also have to understand, like, I, I don’t wanna do rewatch of, you know, 10 to 15 different back, uh, 9 0 2 1 oh episodes.

’cause I know that you guys are gonna have a lot of like, well what about this one? And what about the, what about Donna Martin graduates? And I can probably tell you right now, we’re never gonna do a rewatch of a high school episode of 9 0 2 1 oh. Because I just, I didn’t think they were nearly as good as college.

But there’s a chance, I mean, maybe we will do Donna Martin graduates because it might be better. ’cause I haven’t seen that one 50 times. Like I have the college episodes, so maybe we will do it. But we’re definitely doing, uh, a rewatch of, of certain 9 0 2 1 oh episodes for sure. Saved by the bell. We’ll be in there and we’ll, we’ll definitely find some other ones, but.

And also some classic eighties and nineties movies as well.
