Sage from Survivor put out a 47 minute YouTube video outing the people that she said were pre-gaming and cheating. Did I listen to 47 Minutes of Sage?
No, I did not. I did listen to a few tiktoks, including our friend Tess Higgins, who recapped it for me. We’ll discuss what Sage said. We have some Taylor Swift news as she sets another record and maybe get to a couple reader emails. And we’ll get to all that right now. Last week, Sage from Survivor took to her Instagram stories and said she was going to name, names and out people in the franchise who she witnessed herself pre-gaming, meaning they were in contact with each other before the game started.
In the three or four days, the people were out in Fiji and. I said at the time, I hope she just doesn’t name names. If you’re gonna name names, you better come with what you heard and what you saw. Obviously, she can’t prove it ’cause she didn’t have her phone with her. So this is still a she said. She said, I guess it’s whether or not you choose to believe Sage.
So. She put out a 47 minute YouTube video yesterday. I did not watch this. I wasn’t gonna spend 47 minutes listening to her talk about this, but I was curious as to what she said. And as I said, Tess Higgins, former podcast guest of her, of of ours, who has started the Reality Scholar Instagram account, she recapped it.
So I listened to her. And then there were a couple things that I saw on Twitter and. Here’s what one of ’em said. Sage named the two players. She saw firsthand cheating during pre-game Ponderosa. She says they have been reaching out to alum and crafting narratives and responses behind the scenes, so expect them to come out and deny and explain.
Implied Jake will come out and threaten her or send people to threaten her. Says she’ll release more information about him if he does. Jake was the guy who got bit. And had to leave the game in first. Jake does things to make people uncomfortable that have nothing to do with pre-gaming. Says Sophie is deeply insecure and mentions Torch, Snuffer Gate.
I don’t know what that is. I think I, I, I think from Tess’s video, something about there is a Instagram burner account or a Twitter burner account. With the name Torch Snuffer. That apparently is Sophie, Sophie b Blue Sophie, but I don’t know if that’s been proven. Anyway, says Sophie makes fun of cast members behind their back.
Sophie met with Jake at night and she also initiated another meetup at night with another player that she will not release the name of. Said she suspects Jake and Sophie to come out with lies about her. And then there was a Twitter account. That said there were six main pre-game offenders. This was a recap, another recap, two of which were removed.
We know that there were two people removed from season 49, so she’s saying she knows of six people that she saw quote, cheating and pre-gaming. Two of them were the two that got eliminated, so we don’t even know who they are.
She told. She says she’s releasing the two names of the people who played that. She saw most firsthand evidence of breaking the rules. She told production numerous times to get meaner. Jake and Sophie met up in the night pre-game and talked about themselves and other people pre-game talking. On season 49 was 9.99 out of 10 while 47 was two outta 10.
And she’s saying this because. Sage was actually an alternate for season 47, so she experienced what it was like pregame for 47 and she said basically everybody was on their best behavior in 47. Nobody talked and she’s saying bunch of people talked this season. She says she’s afraid that Jake is gonna threaten her or send people to threaten her.
After the video is posted, she says she has other info on him. She said Sophie is a people pleaser also. FB most popular player. And created a burner IG account named Torch Snuffer. Some people have told her it will be so hard for them, Jake and Sophie. It’s been so hard for the people who have been affected by their actions.
She also made it very clear not to send hate to anyone, which should be obvious, by the way. I mean, she can say it. That’s not gonna stop anybody from sending hate to Jake and Sophie that want to, should they? Of course not. But by. Sage releasing a 47 minute YouTube video, literally pointing her fingers at two people.
There will be enough people. I mean, I think, I don’t know what the audience’s reaction is to Jake, but on Survivor fact Checker, Sophie was the most liked contestant by far on, based on social media this year. So it’s gonna be tough to get people to turn on her. But I’m sure there will be people out there that are just gonna be hitting her up.
When are you gonna respond to this? And I have no idea if Jake and Sophie are gonna respond to this. I still can’t believe that CBS let Sage put this out there. Now, when Sage put out this video yesterday, she basically said, I’m signing off for the next week. You better get this now before it possibly leaves or whatever.
So she knows, I, I, again, I don’t know what she’s doing. I’m not sitting here saying I discredit anything she says, ’cause I wasn’t there. But she has no proof of anything. This is just what she says that she observed. And she said she observed Sophie and Jake. Everyone sleeps in tents three or four nights before the game starts.
And then in the morning she says most people just wake up and stand outside their tent until their handler comes, gets them. But Sophie and Jake were talking but. Again, based on what I heard from in the recaps, what Tess said and the two recaps that I just read, what if Sophie and Jake were just making small talk?
Like I just, I don’t know. And, and here’s the thing that I’m really clueless on, and maybe some people who are more dialed into Survivor and the game aspect of it can answer this. I mean, if. Jake ended up having to leave the game because he got bit by a snake. So why is any of this relevant? I understand that they did eliminate two people because they were breaking the rules and she’s saying more people broke the rules, but they weren’t eliminated from the game.
Maybe what the other two were saying was worse. I don’t know, but. It is just so hard to judge this story when we have no idea and no proof that there was serious pre-gaming going on versus just making small talk before the game started, even though you’re not supposed to talk, and there’s handlers all around.
Sage is saying handlers were aware or made aware that Sophie and Jake were talking and chose to do nothing about it again. That’s something that you’re ha gonna have to believe. If you want to believe Sage’s side, that production was told about this and they just let it go even though they had already kicked two people off for pre-gaming.
And again, I don’t know, and maybe I’m speaking out of turn here, but if we don’t know what was said and they were just making small talk, what am I missing here as a big deal? It’s not like Jake lasted. If Jake and Sophie ended up being the final two and they had a pregame alliance that they were talking about three or four days before the cameras even started rolling.
Absolutely. That would be a major issue because this is a game for where money is involved and standards and practices get involved and stuff like this. But he didn’t. So once Jake was gone from the game, I, I, I don’t know, I again, I could be way off. And Survivor diehards and people who previously played the game might be like Steve.
They are absolutely committing Cardinal Sin number one as a survivor player. But again, if that is your take, your take is strictly based off of what one person who has been bitter ever since we saw the jury at Final Tribal. She seems to have been very affected by this show. It’s literally the words of one person.
If I hear more people. Come out and defend what Sage said then I personally, for me, I would put more stock into it. Now, Sage might say, well, nobody else saw them talking but me. Then it’s like, okay, I, it’s one against everybody that was there. I, I, I just, I don’t know what to make of this story. I don’t know what to do I need to condemn Sophie and Jake?
Because one person is basically relaying hearsay that they saw and heard, but have no evidence of. Again, I don’t wanna dismiss her because she couldn’t provide evidence and she’s not allowed to have a phone there. We’re just going off somebody’s memory and what she wrote down in her pre-game journal, but nobody else seems to be backing up her story.
So unfortunately that kind of chips away at her credibility if you ask me. I don’t think this is the end of this story. I have no idea if Jake’s gonna come out and say something. I have no idea if Sophie’s gonna come out and say something, but I know people will be waiting. And I’m curious to see what happens with Sage in all this, because there’s no way that her contract allows her to do this, and there’s no way that producers are happy.
That she did this, and I’m sure that video will be taken down probably by the time you even hear this. I can’t imagine it’s staying up much longer. But this is a story that’s still developing because we have no idea what Jake and Sophie are gonna say, if anything at all. ’cause they might just ignore it and just be like, look, it’s one person who’s clearly, as we saw on the reunion show, still bothered by what happened out there.
Not to mention what happened in the. Finale night when everybody’s hanging out and everybody’s taking pictures and being friends with each other, and sage is basically not part of anybody. It, it sounds like somebody who’s bitter. I mean, that’s the way it’s coming across to me, and it’s just on a situation like this, when anybody has tea about anything in the year 2025 and now 2026, unfortunately, to gain the most credibility.
You gotta provide evidence and she can’t. It’s not like she’s choosing not to. I understand she can’t because this was all happening three or four days before filming began when you don’t have your phones. So we’re just taking somebody’s word that these two people, Jake and Sophie were just so egregious and we’re cheating and pregaming the whole time, but cheating.
Doing what? Even if they said, Hey, let’s form an alliance Alliances change daily out there. I. I, I’m sure there are survivor players, former players that are just like, if this is true, this is rule breaking number one and something needs to be done. But I have seen some sentiment out there on social media that said, why is this as big deal as Sage is making it out to be?
So that’s where I stand as of right now. I would love to hear what Jake and Sophie say. In return, but I have no idea if they’re gonna say something at all.
