Daily Roundup 1/6 – Sage from Survivor Releases Names of Castmates She Feels Pre-Gamed, Taylor Swift Sets a New Personal Record, & Answering a Reader Email

I feel like I learned something new about Taylor Swift almost every day. You heard me talking to Kate Casey last week on the podcast about Taylor’s documentary end of an era. I came out on Disney Plus and I actually haven’t even gotten around to episodes five and six yet heard.

They’re really good though. I will sometime this week. But if I were to ask you right now what is. Taylor Swift’s

all time. Longest running number one single I. I mean, I would’ve gone back to reputation in 1989. I did not know that Anti-Hero from midnights was her longest running number one single. Well, it was. Until this past week when the fate of Ophelia from Life of a Showgirl just hit number one on the billboard, hot 100 for the ninth consecutive week, eclipsing the reign of anti-hero that had eight weeks.

Keep it

100 on the land, the sea, the sky pledge allegiance to your hand, your team. You fine.

That one, the one that everyone’s doing the dance too on TikTok, that one. Anyway, so that’s her longest. Running number one single nine weeks. Fate of Ophelia. Now, if you’re interested in life of a showgirl on the album side of the charts, showgirl logged. Its 12th week at number one on the Billboard 200, while it’s still six weeks shy of surpassing Swift’s personal benchmark set by the tortured poets department.

Her broader catalog shows no sign of fading. Swift’s top five songs at number one per billboard include fate of affiliate, any Hero, blank Space. Was there for seven weeks as the number one song, cruel Summer. Was there for four weeks and shake it off. Was there for four weeks.

I shake it off. I shake it off.

I mean, I,

I’ve just been doing a lot more singing. On this podcast, on my, on my Patreon, and just wait till we do Grease two. Next Friday night. Friday night, January 16th, 8:00 PM Eastern Time. Be there or be Square. I’ve already downloaded Grease two. We are locked and loaded and ready to go. If you thought I’d been singing too much on the daily roundup, you just sign up for the Patreon.

Sometime before now and next Friday night at 8:00 PM Eastern Time, I will be a singing bird when we do a live rewatch of Grease two, one of the greatest worst movies of all time, and an email I wanted to read. Someone sent this in yesterday. Steve, I just wanted to thank you for having Kate Casey on your show.

I enjoy listening to her and her recommendations and have never heard of her other than your show. I particularly found this one interesting because I live in Knox Woods in Half Moon, where Keith Ranieri and several of his followers lived. I have watched the vow. And other shows that you have gone into detail about NEX VM as well as reading about it.

The community is very quiet and a nice place to live, and no one had any idea what was going on. It’s just such a shock. I’m definitely interested in hearing the podcast that Allison Mack is doing on Nex Im, and I don’t think I would ever have known about it without you bringing it up on your show, so I appreciate.

One question I’ve had for a long time is why you’ve had commercials in Spanish, when obviously you need to understand English to listen to your podcast. Always had me baffle. Thank you for everything you do. Listen to all your reality podcasts. Thank you for that. And the quick answer to that is those are just mistakes in terms of if you are or if you are hearing a Spanish programmatic ad during my podcast.

It’s just something that slipped through the cracks. I don’t. Control. I only control at what point in the podcasts ads are supposed to run. I put a marker in the podcast where the ad is supposed to run, and I, I do have a filter of ads that I don’t want running, like the type of ads, no political ads should be running on my podcast ever.

And I’ve, I have a filter that says No Spanish speaking ads should be running on my podcast, but occasionally some do. And once they’re in there, I just, if you want to notify me, I’d appreciate it. But the thing is, when you listen to your podcast, it knows your location. So some ads you’ll hear will be locally just for you.

Even though in the same ad spot, somebody else in a completely different state will hear a local ad just for them. So if somebody says, I heard a Spanish speaking ad today, unfortunately, it’s just something that slipped through the cracks and nothing I can control other than, you know, going back into the filters and just making sure no Spanish speaking ads are running on my podcast.

But unfortunately, sometimes stuff slips through if you’re getting one every single day for weeks on end. Yes, that’s a problem that I need to know about, but if you hear just one. One random one day, it’s probably just a mistake and I would just ignore it. But anybody that does hear a Spanish speaking ad daily for like a whole week or something, definitely give me a heads up and then I can go to my podcast team and say, Hey, somebody in this state is hearing a Spanish speaking ad, and they heard it all week long.

Can we fix that? So. That’s the answer to that question. As for the nex VM stuff, I’ve a that, you know, I talk about it all the time and I found it fascinating. But then when I found out that the documentary done on Nex VM was like nine parts long, I’m like, oh God, do I want to dive into this? But you heard what Kate said.

Maybe I will tune into Alison Max’s podcast. ’cause she seems obviously she’s not. Seemingly making excuses for her behavior in it and her involvement in it, and how deep she got into it and how she was basically brainwashed by Keith Ranieri. So just as someone who’s an outsider and someone who’s never been part of a cult, which I could say most of us haven’t been part of a cult like that, I’m talking a cult like Keith Ran where.

You know, women had to take pictures of their naked bodies and send him pictures and get their body branded, like burned in his initials, burned into their body and stuff like that. There’s, you know, the cult stuff where it’s just, you know, following a leader and stuff like that. This is taking it to a serious, serious extreme.

Most of us have never been involved in something this deep, and we’re basically following the orders of a madman. Like Keith Ner is without thinking like, Hey, maybe this isn’t right. Maybe this is illegal. Maybe this is punishable by jail sentencing, which is exactly what happened to Alison Mack, but there’s a lot of NX Im stuff out there.

I’m, I’m aware of that. I just haven’t watched really any of it. I just know about NX vm. Yeah, because I watched Alison Mack on Smallville, and when I saw her name plastered across the headlines for the longest time, I’m like, oh my gosh. I mean, obviously we don’t know these people. We have parasocial relationships with everybody online and actors and actresses, but man, I I, I don’t think I ever would’ve guessed that little Chloe from Smallville would be involved in something as sinister as NX vm.

Anyway. Thank you all for listening. I really appreciate it. Follow me in Apple podcast. Also, rate and review, but you gotta hit play. It’s the only way it counts as a download. Sports Daily coming up in an hour from now, so go check that out. Again, thank you all for listening. I really appreciate it, and I will talk to you tomorrow.

See ya
