Daily Roundup 1/9 – Hilary Duff Update, Traitors Talk with No Spoilers, Love Is Blind Season 10 Premiere Date, & a Re-Watch I Started Yesterday That Got Me Hooked – Again

Something that I didn’t mention in the open, but I wanna talk about now is Britney Spears yesterday put out an Instagram post where.

She said that she’s never gonna perform in the US again due to extremely sensitive reasons she didn’t really go into. But what she said was sending this piano to my son this year. Interestingly enough, I dance on Instagram to heal things in my body that people have no idea about. Yep. And it’s embarrassing sometimes, but I walked through the fire to save my life.

I will never perform in the US again because of extremely sensitive reasons, but I hope to be sitting on a stool with a red rose in my hair in a bun, performing with my son in the UK and Australia very soon. He’s a huge star, and I’m so humbled to be in his presence. God’s speed, little man. Well, Brittany, I’m not gonna get into your extremely sensitive reasons why you don’t want to ever perform in the US again.

They’re your reasons. You can either choose to share them or not, doesn’t matter. My thing is I don’t know how many people are actually yearning for you to perform in the US Again, I just hear this. I can hear that guy right now in my ear. Say, leave brandy aloud. That guy. Whatever happened to him, remember him.

But, and, and look, I’ll be honest, I’ve seen Britney Spears once in my life live well, live is using the word kind of loosely. I saw her pieces of me, no, that’s Ashley Simpson. Wait, what was the name of Brittany’s residency in Las Vegas? Am I gonna have to Google this? Oh, I was right. It was piece of me.

Pieces of me was Ashley Simpson’s song, but the piece of me was her residency in Las Vegas at the in Planet Hollywood. And I went and saw it one year. And I think I’ve talked about it at some point on this podcast, but I’ll be honest, if you’re a fan of Britney Spears and you like her music, the show was, I think you would enjoy the show.

But you are not going to hear Britney Spears sing because that show that I attended was pretty much all lip syncing and it was almost like going to a club. But the only songs the DJ played were Britney Spears. Bangers. Yeah. She had a headset on and yeah, she was dancing around, but it certainly wasn’t her voice singing.

On many of those songs, it was her voice on a vocal track, which we heard. Like I said, it just sounded like a club that played only Britney songs, but there was live dancing to it and live performances. But I will also say Britney gave a very, if we’re judging between one and 10, the effort she gave out on her dance routines, I’d give it a six.

It was basically just a night out to hear Britney Spears songs. I didn’t care that she was on stage. I wasn’t freaking out because I saw it for what it was. It was just her basically cashing a paycheck. And look, she might have been going through a lot of stuff in her life at the time that we didn’t know about, but the performance and the show wasn’t very good.

And anybody that went to the piece of me residency in Las Vegas at Planet Hollywood knows exactly what I’m talking about. I don’t think I’m speaking outta turn here by saying this, but hey, if she wants to come back and she wants to perform in Australia and Britain, you know, good for her. I don’t know if anybody realizes she had that residency for four years.

She started in December of 2013 and ended in December of 2017. Actually, that’s five years. 13, 14, 15, 16, 17. It was only supposed to be a two year residency, but apparently people thought it was good. It won best residency in Las Vegas in 2015 and 2017. So after 2015, she extended her contract two more years, 248 performances, grossed 137 million, and sold 916,000 tickets.

It’s just when I see numbers like that, I’m like, okay, and just because I compare everything to what Taylor did, and Brittany stayed in the same location for four years. She did a four year residency, 248 shows over four years and made $137 million. Taylor Swift did 149 shows in. So a hundred less shows, but in two and a half less years and made $2 billion.

You know, I, and I’ve seen the Aero tour and I’ve seen Brittany piece of me residency. It’s like comparing apples and oranges. It’s not even in the same stratosphere. What I witnessed at both shows, I forgot to mention this yesterday. We have a start date. A new start Date for Love is Blind, season 10, and we’re basically a month away.

So season 10 is coming on February 11th and it’s the Boston Series. Now. We pretty much knew, just by the way, this show has gone. Their thing is October for a season and February, right around Valentine’s Day for a season. So I don’t think anybody is too shocked by this because this is kind of have, this has kind of been, at least for the last few seasons, this is kind of their schedule.

So season five did September and October. Excuse me. Season five did September of 2023 and then February of 2024, but it was the very end of September then, so five was September of 2023. Six was February 14th, 2024. Season seven, October of 2024. Season eight, February of last year, season nine, October of 2025.

Season ten’s gonna be February of 2026, so it’s not. Surprising, but there were rumblings put out there by certain content creators. And not to say that, oh my gosh, look at they got it wrong. I’m just saying there were content creators that were saying we are hearing rumblings that they are pushing. Love is blind Season 10 back further than the normal February release date.

Right around. Valentine’s Day because the last two seasons have been released, excuse me. The last two spring seasons have been released. February on, on February 14th. This year we’re getting it on February 11th, which is a Wednesday, and that’s because Valentine’s Day’s on a Saturday, they’re not gonna do it on a Saturday.

So it’s coming, it’s the Boston Edition. There are rumblings that it is quote unquote, better. Then the Denver season, and if you read between the lines on what better means, it pretty much means we are gonna get a married couple, if not multiple ones, that like are still married to this day. We’re not gonna get zero engagements, so be prepared for that.

I don’t know who any of these people are, I’m just reporting what other content creators have said. So just expect that. And finally I started seeing a bunch of stuff on my Twitter feed in regards to one of my favorite shows of all time. I started seeing clips of it. I don’t know why people were posting clips of it ’cause it like hasn’t been in the news.

It’s a show that has not been on for many, many years. I mean, if I, if I look it up, when was the last year that the last season that aired was in 2010? I mean, we’re talking 15 years ago that this show was on yet. I keep seeing all these clips. Now, granted, every time I watch a clip, when I do see it on my Twitter feed, that shows up in my algorithm that I’m interested in that, and that’s probably why I’m getting more and more clips of it.

But it was clips from numerous seasons, so it was a show that had six seasons. If you’ve listened to this podcast long enough, you know I’ve said this is one of my top three shows, and that is lost. And I was like, man, I keep seeing all these clips. I don’t want to do it. I don’t wanna get started because this is a show that, you know, shows in the 2000 tens, did 22, 23, 24 episode seasons.

And I’m like, my gosh, if I get started on lost, I’m gonna go down that rabbit hole and it’s gonna consume my life. Because it’s gonna be really hard to start and then just say for, no, I don’t wanna watch this anymore because it’s such a good show. So I sat down yesterday and was like, I just wanna watch the pilot.

’cause we’ve talked about the pilot, about how it was passed around. Networks said, no, it was the most expensive pilot at the time ever made. They spent almost, I think, $10 million on the pilot. It was either 10 or two. But what I’m saying is for a television show, that’s an enormous budget for a television show, for one episode.

And so I’m. Like, I just wanna rewatch the pilot again because I wanna see it and I wanna experience it again and just look at it through the lens of, I already know what happens in this whole series. I know we’re the end point of everything, so let me just watch the beginning again, and I’ll just be like, okay.

That was cool to see again. Well, here I was six episodes later of watching Lost and yeah, I, I don’t think I’m putting in six episodes a day. There’s no way. But I have a feeling that I’m gonna try and put one to two in a day, and Season one had 25 episodes. The season two had 24 episodes. Season three had 23 episodes.

I gotta push through that because then I’ll be able to get through four, five, and six rather easily because they were a lot less 14, 17, and 18 episodes. But just watching the first six episodes of Lost Again yesterday, I was floored on how good it was. Again, knowing everything. I’m looking for certain things now because I remember a lot from it, but clearly not everything and we’re in the very early going, ’cause even watching those first six episodes, I’m like, oh my gosh, there is so much.

About this island that these people have not even come close to or encountering yet. We aren’t even anywhere close to the Hatch and the Dharma initiative and the others, and Ben and all this stuff and, but I’m just watching it with a different eye this time around because I obviously know what happens.

But man, that was so good. I could not stop watching. I’m like, my gosh, that pilot was so good and I thought about this. And I’m thinking a show like this, not because of the price, but I’m just saying, oh, by the way, looking at some notes here. The pilot episode cost over 14 million, so even more expensive than I thought.

But I’m thinking about this show and I’m like, there’s no chance in hell whether network or streaming would ever make another show like this Again, not an island and. All this wacky stuff and the supernatural and, and this island has healing powers. And you can time jump and all this stuff. No, no, no. I’m just talking about a television show.

That’s a serialized television show that is a slow burn and takes some time. Because no streamer and no network television show is going to give a television show 24 episodes to establish themselves in one season. They just don’t. They know people’s attention spans are like flies nowadays. In 2010 when we had less options, yeah, you can put a show on that had 25 episodes in season one and build to things.

Unfortunately you can’t do that anymore ’cause no one has any patience. Especially if you’re gonna release one episode a week. So it’s just amazing how television is viewed now, because any streaming show, what’s the most, you get 10 episodes, maybe 12, and then they’ll take a couple years off to do another season just for you youngins out there.

Just remember TV shows in the eighties, nineties, and early two thousands were literally putting out. 24 episodes a season minimum, or 22 minimum. If you’ve got a full season order, you’d usually put out 22. A show like Lost would’ve a couple bonus episodes. Hell, Beverly Hills 9 0 2 1 oh in the nineties when they went to college every year of college, freshman, sophomore, junior and senior year of college, each had 32 episodes a season.

They literally filmed for 10 out of the 12 months of the year. That’s how crazy it was. Now. Like I said, 10, 12 episodes at most for any show. Some of ’em were just doing eight episode series. Like I told you how great the Beast in Me was and all her fault was. Those are eight episodes each. I don’t know the filming time on something like that, but it can’t be more than a couple months, and I guess, you know, it allows actors and actresses to pursue other projects.

I get it. But it’s just lost and shows like 24 back in the day, which aired, started a little bit before loss, but pretty much ended right around the same time. You just don’t get stuff like that. And I think just the storytelling on loss, the writing of it, the character development, you just don’t have the time to do that for a TV show anymore.

No streamer and no network will give you that much time to develop your characters. You have to like jump into everything. So, yeah. The first six episodes I watched of Lost yesterday. They have all these people that crashed on a plane. We have to start learning their backstories, and the first six episodes were all six different episodes of learning the backstory of some of these people.

Second episode was the backstory of Kate, and then Locke was in the fourth episode, the Walkabout, which was one of the best episodes they ever did. Then the Jack backstory was in episode five, and then the Sun and Jen End Backstory was an episode six. It’s like you would never be able to do that. And we still got coming up.

We gotta learn about Sawyer, we gotta learn about Charlie, we gotta learn about Saeed and Claire. And then you start repeating some of them with Jack and Kate getting more backstory. And then Boone and Shannon, I don’t even remember what happened to Boone and Shannon. I know they’re not on the show very long.

I remember Boone died, but I, I, I think it’s early on, either end of season one or beginning of season two, and then Shannon sticks around. She doesn’t die with him. Anyway, I just wanna say I got sucked in. I told myself I only wanted to watch the pilot and ended up watching six episodes. Of lost yesterday and I’m probably going to continue to do it ’cause it’s so good.

Anyway, thank you all for listening. I really appreciate it. Follow me on Apple Podcast. Also rate and review, but you gotta hit play.
