All right, more to get to here. 8:00 AM Eastern time this morning.
I don’t know what time you’re listening to this, but that by time might have already passed. On the What’s the reality YouTube channel is Blake and Gian Nina’s new dating matchmaking show. Star crossed Jared Kelner is the first contestant. He was the single dad on last season of Love Is Blind in Denver.
By the time you listen to this, you’ll probably know who the woman is they tried to pair him up with. And we’ll review this tomorrow on the podcast on the daily roundup because obviously I’m recording this Tuesday night. I haven’t been able to watch this yet, but I think it’s a good idea unless this thing is like an hour long.
I think that might be too much just for two people sitting there answering questions from Blake and Gina. So we’ll see. But if this is like a good 20 or 30 minutes. And some good questions, some good banner. And then they decide after taking off their blindfolds if they want to continue to date. And then I think if they both agree, they want to continue seeing each other, I think they go on a date right then and there, I believe.
Anyway, that’s coming out today. It’s called Star Crossed. It’s on the What’s the Reality YouTube page at 8:00 AM Eastern Time. A former producer by the name of Lindsay Lyles, producer on the Bachelor of the Bachelorette, and. Bachelor in Paradise. Posted yesterday that she is casting. Says now, casting dating for a traditional marriage.
Oh boy. Already problematic. Chris Harrison is back hosting a brand new dating series. A prominent streaming service is casting single men and women, 21 plus. Who want a traditional marriage-minded partnership built on commitment and shared values. We’re looking for singles who believe in clear roles, long-term commitment, and building a life together and who are dating with real intention.
Holy shit. God forbid anyone signs up for this Garbage shared values, or excuse me, clear roles. So. Just in this four sentence casting call, they’re saying, we’re looking for traditional marriage-minded people who believe in clear roles, long-term commitment, building a life together, and are dating with real intention.
So we can already tell, especially since this is being hosted by Chris Harrison, we pretty much know where he stands on things. The fact that they’re throwing that in there. Traditional marriage, what is that even? Can you define that please? I think you and I both know what they’re referring to in this, but it’s really, really interesting that that’s what they’re going after, like this a prominent streaming service.
I don’t know. I tend to think that if a prominent streaming service has already locked up this show. I think it would’ve already been announced, like they haven’t even cast for this show yet, and yet a prominent streaming service apparently is on board. I don’t know if that’s really the way it works. I think they’re gonna film something and then pitch it.
Prominent streaming service. That means if this isn’t on Hulu, Netflix, paramount Plus or Peacock I don’t think this is going anywhere. This just doesn’t look good. And as Bachelor Klu said yesterday, he wants to infiltrate the show with a bunch of game players. So if you’re interested and you wanna be on the show, go contact Bachelor Clues, Chad Colton, and he’ll tell you how to get on this show and infiltrate it from the inside.
’cause that’s basically what he’s told everybody he wants to do. I mentioned yesterday about Jelly Roll and the Grammys, and I’m like, this doesn’t make any sense. How is an album that he released October 11th, 2024, winning an award in February of 2026? Well, I have my answer. And as I alluded to yesterday, I just assumed they knew what they were doing, releasing it when they did, and basically for the Grammys that were on Sunday night, you had to have released, it’s all music released between.
August 31st, first of 2024 and August 30th, 2025. So he released his five weeks later from August 31st, which was October 11th, maybe six weeks. So that was the window, August 31st, 2024 through August 30th, 2025. If you released an album or music in that time, that’s what made you eligible for all the awards that were presented on Sunday night at the Grammys.
So it was done a certain way, which also means August 31st, 2025 till August 30th of this year. We’ll be up for a Grammy in February of next year, so expect life of a showgirl to absolutely blow doors on everybody. Now you could say, Steve, you were very hard on Jelly Roll for his release. Taylor’s release is going to be part of, I would think the Grammys next year.
Life of a shoulder is probably gonna win a ton of awards. Yes. But Taylor has numerous songs. Mr. Roll has won that I know of. ’cause it’s the only one he ever fucking sings. You ain’t nothing but you Ain’t nothing but a liar. Are there any other lyrics other than you Ain’t nothing but a liar. I’m sure there are.
I don’t know ’em though. Because that’s the anything I ever hear. Congrats roll. What’s his name in real life? Let me look him up real quick. I, I know I’ve seen it like 10 times, but off the top of my head, I can’t remember. But it’s, I wanna say it’s like Kenneth some, I dunno, sorry. Jason Deford is his name.
It was like Kenneth, I dunno where I got that from, but yeah. Jason De Ford, he’s 41 years old. And he’s gotta be, I don’t know what the exact number on the pounds that he’s lost is, but it’s definitely over 200. Right? Because he was close to 500 pounds. And looking at him right now, he looks like he’s 2, 2 25, maybe two 50.
It’s crazy. Good for him. Just take a break. Go on vacation with your wife for like a year or two, just, you don’t have to be on every show that I watch. Please. I’m gonna get to the Colton thing tomorrow as well, because I need to find, I had it, but then I deleted it. I need to find the post from somebody that’s been on the traders in the past.
It’s more in regards to Colton and the Instagram post that the trader’s Instagram account. Put out last week when it basically said, Hey, leave our contestants alone. Don’t be so mean to them. Stop bullying them and cyber bullying them and stuff like that, which is just an absolute joke. ’cause now they are throwing the onus on us, the viewers who are just asking why is he on the show?
Like it just seems so ridiculous that they still will not come out and address this. Chad and I talked about this on Friday, last Friday on my. Traders recap show on YouTube and that you got in your podcast feed, which I’ll be doing for the rest of the season. Once we record on Friday, I’m gonna go take the audio from it and just put it up in my podcast feed.
So you’ll get a bonus episode every Friday and there will be more bonus episodes coming for other shows. Love is Blind for one. Just know that’s coming, but.
I just think it’s so hilarious that, you know, Chad brought it up Friday. Is this show going to address this at all? If Colton is at the reunion show, there’s no way they’re gonna allow anybody to bring this up to him. They’re only gonna be allowed to probably talk game. And the fact that the Instagram account came out and said, Hey, stop bullying our contestants, doesn’t scream to me that they’re ready to release a statement about, well.
We didn’t know he did this because then that makes them look horrible. ’cause this wasn’t something private. This was major news. The problem is, it was major news in September of 2020. We were going through a major pandemic at that time. So I think it kind of got lost in the shuffle. That’s the problem.
And then six months later, he basically masked it by coming out publicly as a gay man. So yeah, there are certain people out there that did not forget it. But let’s be honest, once he came out and then said, oh yeah, I got a Netflix show that’s gonna cover me coming out. The stuff with Cassie, like it was very calculated.
He didn’t just randomly do this. It was very, very calculated. And that’s the whole point of all this is that I think this guy is not all there. He is very deceiving. He is very calculating. The reason he even came to me to be on my podcast was to try and control the narrative. I think this guy is very, very shady.
We have every right as an audience to ask, what is this guy doing on your show? There’s nothing you do about it. Now we get it. It was filmed last summer. But the fact that the traitors who haven’t really had any issues or problematic contestants for the most part in their first three seasons, now they’re taking some and they don’t know how to deal with it.
And finally. I just wanted to talk about this ’cause this happened a couple days ago. I saw that Kelly Clarkson has decided to step away from her daytime talk show after seven years. She did it, I think for five years in la and then the last two have been in New York. I could be wrong on the years in terms of how many in LA and how many in New York.
I do know that she did seven years, and then on the same day we found out that Sherry Shepherd’s daytime talk show has been canceled after four Seasons. And I can honestly say I didn’t watch more than five seconds of either of their shows. I never watched it. Obviously, I’m not a daytime television talk show guy, but clearly I saw clips of both shows on my feed at some point over the last seven years for Kelly and four years for Sherry Shepherd.
I get it, but this speaks to a bigger picture to me, which is why do we need daytime talk shows? You can even move that to the nighttime because we’re just living in a different media landscape now where, I mean, who’s tuning into late night talk shows? Because you can say, whatcha talking about Steve? I watch Jimmy Fallon, I watch Jimmy Kimmel, I watch Colbert.
Do you watch them when they air at night? Like everybody used to do with Leno and Letterman. Or do you watch clips the next day, which is what I do. Or they just show up in my feed. I don’t go searching for them. But you see clips of, in things that people said, actors, celebrities, athletes. If they say something funny or say something really interesting, it’ll be clipped and be in your feed the next day.
And I’m just wondering, where is the market for daytime talk shows two got canceled in literally the same day. I don’t even know how many more are out there, but I have a feeling these are gonna become dinosaurs and people are just gonna move away. They love their court shows. You know us here at Reality, Steve, we love our hot bench.
But even with Hot Bench, how many other court shows are there? Judge Mathis? I know that one because it came on before a hot, hot bench the other day, but there’s like four or five court shows a day, right. I don’t know how many talk shows there are I? I know there’s a few, but off the top of my head right now, I’m just trying to think.
I’m totally drawing a blank on daytime talk shows, but I just don’t think that they’re important anymore because. Any guest you have on a daytime talk show is basically there to promote something and most of the time they can easily promote it on their socials. ’cause we have access to all these celebrities now that we just didn’t have in the eighties and nineties and even early two thousands.
Now we have so much access. Someone doesn’t need to go on a talk show to say, Hey, I got this movie coming out this weekend. Everybody pretty much knows at this point. So. I’m just saying this could be getting the ball rolling down the hill for the cancellation of daytime talk shows. We’ll see as time goes on.
Anyway, thank you all for listening. I really appreciate it. Follow me on Apple Podcasts. Also rates and review. But you gotta hit play. It’s the only way it counts as a download. Sports Daily coming up in an hour from now. Again, thank you all for listening. Big day coming tomorrow, and I’ll talk to you then.
