You are listening to the Daily Roundup here as part of the Reality. Steve Podcast, I’m your host reality. Steve, thank you all for tuning in a good Monday show for you. Yeah, we’re gonna dive a little bit more into the Colton stuff. And why I am talking about it as much as I have been since Thursday when the Vanity Fair Interview came out.
We’re also gonna talk about Survivor. How are the ratings for the three hour Premier? Last Wednesday new show, bachelor related tonight on HGTV. We’ll discuss jury duty season two coming out this month. And I saw a movie this weekend. I’ll tell you what it was and my thoughts. So let’s get started. I do wanna first begin by reminding everybody, 10th annual fan appreciation Party in Las Vegas, June 13th, seven to 11:00 PM in Las Vegas at the House of Blues inside Mandalay Bay, and open beer and wine bar all night.

Want everybody to know it’s first come, first serve, and I never know how quickly this thing fills up. But if you’re interested in coming but you can’t purchase anything just yet, send me an email and say, I definitely wanna be there. And give me an idea of when you can send your $40 and your flight itinerary if you’re fall flying in, or your hotel reservation.
If you’re flying in, if you’re a Vegas local, all you have to do. Is pay your 40 bucks and you’ll be on the list. That’s what gets you on the confirmed list payment for the party and how you are staying, whether it’s a flight or like I said, a hotel, anything like that, just let me know. So June 13th, Saturday night in Las Vegas.
10th annual party for the reality. Steve Fan appreciation party. Okay, I want to talk a little bit more about Colton because this is obviously stirred up. Some people, and look, it’s understandable. You know, just when you talk negatively about any person in reality tv, every single person on reality tv, even if they’re the worst person and getting the worst edit, somebody will always defend them.
So I get it to that extent. The problem with the traders and Colton this season is there’s a lot of people coming out of the woodwork that had no idea. About Colton and Cassie, and I think one of the arguments that I’m hearing a lot, and if you look on social media for the people that they’re not necessarily defending Colton, they’re just saying, let it go.
Everybody’s moved on. And for those people, I just wanna say, look, essentially that’s what Colton said in his Vanity Fair interview that came out Thursday. People are coming outta the woodwork. They don’t know what they’re talking about. And. What’s a major problem? Colton was in the wrong in all this. He was the perpetrator.
Do you find nothing problematic at all that the perpetrator in this situation is telling everybody, Hey guys, just let it go. We’ve all moved on. Well, of course he does. He’s the one that had a restraining order filed against him, so of course he wants people to forget what he did. You know, he’s saying this was settled outta court.
It’s a private matter. As if that’s why the fans are disliking him. Of course he wants his DV matter to be pushed aside and be a private matter. ’cause the women don’t get their justice on the back end. You know, the language that he used in the Vanity Fair interview and what he has said in interviews past, like this is one of the darkest moments in my life.
I’m sorry. I don’t like that language either. Saying it’s one of the darkest moments in your life would be like all these things happening around you that you really had no control over. A family member died. A family member got cancer. Just a lot of things came down on me all at once. That’s a dark moment in somebody’s life saying this was the dark, one of the darkest and most horrible moments in my life should have been.
And I saw this online, this was a great sentence by somebody said, should, he should have said more like one of the darkest and most horrible things you have ever done in your life. Words matter. And I think you also gotta remember when Colton came out of the closet. It was in April, 2021, and he came out on Good Morning America.
That was the first time that Colton had addressed what had happened with Cassie. We first heard about it in September of 2020 that she had filed a restraining order against him, and then I think a couple months later, October or November is when it went into a settlement. But neither of them spoke about it at that time.
And then Colton comes out in April on GMA, and that’s when he addresses the Cassie stuff for the first time. So even the very first time Colton talked about it, the main story about. Him talking about what happened with Cassie. The main story is I’m a gay man, so even that was masked. Another thing a lot of people were saying to me were, Steve, Cassie has moved on.
You need to as well. Okay. You need to find what moved on means. Has she moved on in that? She’s in a new relationship. She’s now married. Yes, she’s moved on in that way. But some people are actually having a short term memory loss when it comes to this, because unless I have missed it, Google, Cassie, Randolph Colton Underwood situation.
Find me one quote where Cassie has forgiven, excused, anything along those lines when it comes to the Colton issue. In March of 2022, Cassie went on Caitlyn Bristol’s podcast off the Vine. Here’s what she said When asked about it, I haven’t talked about it, so it’s really hard for me to talk about it at all or even know the right thing to say when addressing it.
I feel so much pressure when asked about it that I would love to be able to op, be open and candid about things, but I’m just not there yet. I’m sure one day I will wanna speak on it because there’s just a lot there. That was in March of 2022. Does that sound like somebody who’s like, yeah, it happened. I moved past it quite the opposite to me.
Then a few months later, about six months later, she went on Ben and Ashley’s almost famous podcast, and she said it was just a very overall hard time for me. So I feel like there was just one thing after another and I was just extremely overwhelmed with everything going on. Those are the only two quotes.
I’ve seen Cassie Randolph say on record in regards to the Colton situation, do those quotes sound like somebody who’s just moved on and doesn’t think what happened was a big deal? To me, it sounds like somebody who’s muzzled and doesn’t know what to say without getting in trouble and one day could absolutely blow the lid on this thing and give us even more details about what happened.
And I think the overall message that a lot of people seem to be missing. What I’m trying to say about this is I’m not trying to cancel Colton. I’m not saying Colton can never work again. What I am saying is he can’t be hypocritical about it. ’cause even in that Vanity Fair interview, he said, yes, this is what I do, but sometimes I just want to go off the grid and not do anything and just go live on a farm.
So all I’m saying is Colton, if you choose to stay in the public eye. If you choose to accept reality TV roles or any TV roles that come your way, you can’t then claim, gosh, why don’t people just leave me alone about this? It was six years ago. You can’t have it both ways. You can’t have your cake and eat it too.
That’s what I’m saying. There are plenty of other ways to make money in this world. All I’m saying is. I can’t control networks, streamers offering this guy roles on their TV shows. I can’t control that Colton can control saying yes and maybe after the traders and all the hate that he got from going on, the traders ’cause more people were exposed to his story because there were a lot of people that had no idea about Colton’s past then a lot of content creators started reminding people, Hey, this Colton guy, in case you didn’t know this is what he did to an ex-girlfriend.
So I think Colton absolutely has every right to accept TV offers that are given to him. But what I am saying is if he’s going to choose to accept those TV offers, then don’t complain. If people aren’t cool with what you did in your past, and that’s what that Vanity Fair interview basically said, he’s like, yeah, I don’t understand why people just don’t move on.
God, isn’t that so easy? For the perpetrator himself to say, Hey guys, move on. No big deal. Cassie hasn’t said anything about this in six years. I just read you the only two quotes I’ve ever heard her say publicly about what happened, and did those two quotes sound like somebody who has moved on and wasn’t emotionally scarred by what happened.
You be the judge.
