Podcast #230 – Interview with Kirpa Sudick

I’d say yesterday was a pretty monumental day in Bachelor Nation history with Colton coming out on national television, followed by the confirmation that there will be a Netflix docu-series about it, which was first reported by Game of Roses podcast on IG last weekend. I wanted to find someone from his season to come on and I was able to get Kirpa Sudick, the 5th place finisher on his season. She’s never been on before so it was fun trying to remember some of the things that happened on Colton’s season – a lot of which I forgot. So we talk about her journey from how she came to be on the show, why she never went on BIP, her thoughts on Colton’s announcement yesterday, was it ever discussed within the women on his season, what she’s up to now, and much more. I believe she’s the first woman from Colton’s season I’ve had on the podcast before, so it was good to finally get one. As always, if you’d like to reply to the interview, please include Kirpa’s Twitter handle (@KirpaSudick) in your replies. It was great to have Kirpa on for the first time. Hope you all enjoy it. It’s a good one.

(SPOILERS) I begin by giving my thoughts on Colton coming out yesterday on GMA, why this isn’t a time to claim you knew it, and what I have the biggest issue with. Then Kirpa joins me (11:57) to go over her time on Colton’s season from how she got cast, her limo entrance that got cut, being on all group dates, how did she feel Colton felt about her, the argument with Cassie in Denver, why was she never on BIP, what she’s up to now, and more.

Steve, I don’t grudge you the ads — I know they pay your way so that you can make a career out of writing for us. But can you please try to make sure they’re not covering the content? That happens on your site more than on any other I read. Most often via cellphone but even sometimes on a regular computer browser window. This time I couldn’t even reach the link to play the podcast because it was covered by two different ads that were layered over each other! Hitting “Please don’t show this ad again because it covered content” doesn’t really help, since it gets rid of the ad but not the blocked-out space for the ad, which continues to cover the content. Sorry to bother you, but I thought you’d want to know.

I’m not going to claim I 100% knew Colton was gay. But one of the “tells” is how he acted around women in a dating scenario, because he was literally acting because he didn’t know how to act. Colton always gave off a vibe of being totally uncomfortable with the romantic aspect, while he was perfectly comfortable being a friend. Nothing at all wrong with being a friend, and sometimes you do end up in the friend zone. But I never could really see him romantically interested in any of the women we’ve seen on any of the shows. The whole Cassie thing looked totally forced. Not at all something natural that developed. Oh, and btw, janiel is 100% correct. This site is the worst with the wall to wall popup ads. I mean, this is 2021, not 1998 or 2008. Get a web designer, stat!
