I enjoyed the podcast with the Joe Millionaire guys. Unlike most Bachelor guys, they have real jobs. I’m sure part of the reason they are on is for social media following, but this appears more likely to have a goal of bringing attention to their businesses versus sitting back and getting paid for shilling others’ products on Instagram. They also seem to be having more fun than the Bachelor leads. It did strike me as odd that Steven kissing 2 girls was a big deal to the women where this is rarely shown as an issue on Bachelor. Yeah, they seemed so taken aback by that when Bachelor fans would yawn at a Bachelor only kissing two women on a group date.
I am so glad you had Jennie on. When she said she was a victim of sex trafficking and there was minimal shown on that, I was wondering how the hell they could drop that bomb on the audience, leaving us going “WTF?!” Her story made me think of 2 things: 1) The scene in the movie Fame where Coco goes to some kind of photographer and he manipulates her into going topless. And 2) The old Girls Gone Wild videos where drunk girls were filmed and then, I seem to remember, the videos were advertised on TV. I know there were all kinds of lawsuits. Back then, I think the public probably thought of those videos as harmless fun. Times have changed. You can say that again.
Were you surprised that the “butler” snitched on the woman who had the hots for the crew member? That seemed like such a great opportunity for the producers to get another contestant to act like the Right Reasons police and tattle. I think that is how The Bachelor would have done it (exception being Rozlyn whom I think Harrison confronted). Maybe they just felt they wanted to give the butler something to do.
I’m hoping the rumored Celebrity Big Brother contestant list is wrong (especially Hope Hicks) as I don’t know who a bunch are.
Comment: I thought I read her PR team said it’s not true. I can’t see her doing that show. No way. I know Spicer did DWTS and Omarosa and Scaramucci did BB, but I don’t see Hope Hicks doing that show.

Long-time reader, first-time e-mailer here. My Bachelor questions or thoughts usually get shared by you or someone else, so I’ve never felt compelled to write before. But today I’m here to make sure you know about all of the Wordle knock-offs that exist so you don’t only have to wait until midnight every night for a new word! 🙂

Only “lewd” words are allowed to be guessed and yeah… it can get pretty dirty (the first word I had on it was the p word).

You get unlimited guesses! But the game is working against you (including changing the word you’re guessing sometimes). It’s doable but basically feels like a harder version of Wordle. This one also lets you play again and again without having to wait until the next day.

Comment: No, no, no, no. Can’t do it. I’ll never get off my phone if I try those. Someone sent me Wordle Unlimited yesterday, I wore it out, and now I’m already bored by it. I knew that’d happen. It’s like getting a new toy for me. I wear the shit out of it, then I want nothing to do with it anymore. I’m enjoying the one word a day from the original Wordle game and I’m gonna stick with that.
Sure, if I’m on a plane or waiting to eat maybe I’ll hop on. But I literally played for 4 straight hours yesterday. And I found myself doing worse and worse. It was really weird. Because I knew there was another game that was gonna follow right after, it’s like I didn’t try as hard and it’s not the main game that everyone in America is playing. I’m weird.

Hi Steve,
Is anyone else getting bored with the current Batchelor et all format? How the therapy talk circle last night was similar to that of Katie’s season. Also the use of the word vulnerable? I realize one must be open and open up quickly to get to know a person on the show. However, Clayton’s season seems to mirror Katie’s and Michelle’s seasons. At least they are hitting different, important topics. They are, but for me, when it doesn’t come organically it just seems to lose some of its effect. Not all, but some.
Also, Sarah most likely was given a set of underwear for the scavenger hunt. Her dress would have required a different bra or no bra at all. The whole “in your underwear scavenger hunt” was so phony!
Comment: Yeah, it’s clear that was given to her. I think she even addressed it yesterday on social media. Or said she would eventually.

I don’t have a question for you but just wanted to share with you that I have also just started playing Wordle and OMG I’m addicted too. My son got me into it about a week ago. I got today’s word in 3 tries and I was pretty excited cause usually it take me all 6 tries. In My opinion no writing it down isn’t cheating.I have definitely had to write it down a few times. Anyway just wanted to let you know I am addicted to it also and I really enjoyed reading about your experience with Wordle.
I really enjoy reading your column and appreciate all the spoilers.
Comment: Someone gave me the idea yesterday that instead of writing it down, just put X’s in the boxes where you don’t have the letter and look at it that way. I tried. Didn’t work for my eyes. Almost got too confusing. But the more I’m playing, the less I find myself writing down. I’m trying to do it all in my head.
And oh yeah, got today’s in 5 tries. 11 for 11.

I’d like to thank you for a) turning us Bachelor fans onto new reality shows – namely Joe Millionaire! (And a shout out to Temptation Island too!) How refreshing are the two male leads for JM? I don’t usually have the time to listen to all your podcasts, but I made time to listen to the one with the two JM leads, Kurt and Steve. Geez, how nice are these guys? And not at all affected like BN folks. And I’m loving their bromance on the show. My only caveat is that quite a few of the women have had work done, namely botoxed lips. Do guys like that?? It really skeeves me out looking at them, SO unnatural. But the guys seemed drawn to the more naturally pretty women, so makes me like the guys even more. I’m so glad we now have other options for reality dating shows as the Bachelor franchise is going downhill fast. Typically I’m all juiced up on Monday nights, but this week I almost forgot the Bachelor was back on and did NOT miss it last week! And I could not recall the Bachelor’s first name for the life of me. That’s pretty telling on what a ho-hum season this is. Like you commented in your recap today, just the same old manufactured drama and overdone group dates. Just shoot me! I now start watching it late and fast forward on YouTube TV thru all the crap…and there’s more crap than interesting scenes. Pretty sad. I’m really curious to see how it plays out after Kurt and Steve told me that there will be more twists and turns this season.
Beauty is subjective. And not everyone’s filler is the same. It’s whatever to me.
and, hey…I loved your reference to The Office on your Twitter feed about the CPR scene. I was humming the song “Stayin’ Alive” last night too! That’s one of my all-time fav Office episodes. And love the clever “Shrimp Gate” comments. That was beyond lame. Does ABC really think they can keep us watching if they keep this up? Not with so many of us switching to other, better options. I owe you for pointing the way.

HOWEVER, I’m going to give probably one of the more unpopular opinions about this show that I expect very few to agree with. He was funny in this clip, and I’ll always be a fan of the show as I think it’s one of the top 3 comedies of all time, but Dwight Schrute is one of the most overrated characters in TV history. There, I said it. Don’t at me.

Do you honestly think Shanae is the only one at fault? She is very clearly the instigator, but I don’t know if Elizabeth is handling it perfect either. She is definitely creating more of a tense environment- purposefully or not. Well, nobody’s perfect. And I disagree with what you said. Everything Elizabeth is reacting to is being caused by Shanae. And we’ve seen Shanae basically being out to get Elizabeth. So no, I don’t agree with that.
Do we know the Bachelorette?? I feel like it could be Susie or Teddi- people seem to love both. No, and we won’t for a while.
Do you know if the Giannina and Blake H rumors are true? People keep going back and forth on them!
Comment: Yes, they’ve always been true. It’s just that the gossip mongers on social media wanted to throw shit against the wall to see what sticks, only to backtrack. They aren’t going public because the show they were on hasn’t even aired yet, so they don’t want to give anything away. Consider the source when you see gossip like that.

March madness is my 2nd most favorite part off the year!!! We were in Vegas one year during March madness and the sports books were crazzzyyy! For me, there is no sporting event all year long to watch in a sportsbook than March Madness. It’s why I go out to Vegas for the first weekend of the tournament every year and will be doing so again this year. Super Bowl obviously is the most watched sporting event every season, BUT, that’s one game, and what if it’s boring or a blowout? When you have 16 games both Thursday and Friday of the first week, it’s impossible to not have close games, buzzer beaters, and games coming down to meaningful free throws or last second three’s because of the point spread. No one can convince me otherwise. It’s the best sporting event to watch in Vegas and it’s not even close. March 17th and 18th I’ll be parked at the Venetian sportsbook for 10 hours each day.
Anyways, I was gonna ask you a question about Joes allegations but I’m sure you’ll get enough of those. My other thought/comment is how the producers feed into the “villains” story like Shanea. I understand it’s for the drama aspect of it, but you can have villains and drama with out the bullying! –
