Daily Roundup 5/21 – Jenn Filming At Her Old Job Today, What I Heard About The Finale, Trip Down American Idol Lane, & A 90210 Tiff Settled

All right. Want to talk a little idle, not necessarily the finale that was on Sunday night. Congratulations again to Abby Carter for being season 22 is winter hope great things for her. Hope great things for all the people that participated in this year. But yesterday, Carrie Underwood posted a throwback photo of when she won Idol 20 years ago.

This is when Idol was in its heyday. Remember? I remember season 4 and season 5 probably more than any other season and I don’t know why. Those are the two I remember the most. But The reason Carrie stuck out to me was because I was working in the mortgage industry. I was in a little cubicle for every day coming into work.

And there was a guy at work that we just talked idle every day, the next day. And he was such a Bo Bice fan. And I was like, what are you talking about? Carrie Underwood is going to be huge. And that was that member of that season when Simon said it was after Carrie had sang a heart song alone, right alone.

Right. And after that performance. Simon said, not only are you going to win this competition, I predict you will sell more records than anybody in the history of this show. And I don’t know who has sold more between her Kelly Clarkson. I got to believe it’s close. It’s probably Carrie. I should probably look that up, but I’m not going to either way.

When Simon gave that prediction, he had never said anything like that up in four seasons. So he nailed it. I mean, even if Kelly has sold more, it’s not like Carrie was chopped liver here. I mean, Carrie has made a absolute fortune being a country singer. And I just remember that season because I was going back and forth with this guy at work.

I can’t even remember his name now. But he was like, man, you’re crazy. Beau Bice is going to be a huge country star. Carrie Underwood is cookie cutter. There’s so many of her, like, like her in, in country music. I’m like, no, man, I’m telling you, I’m not even a country music fan. And I know she’s going to be huge.

He’s like, no way, man. Beau Bice. Well, I’m sure Beau Bice sold some records here and there, maybe like 10 whatever. No, I’m kidding. Obviously he saw more than that, but obviously he’s not come close to the success. Of Carrie Underwood. Not many people have on this show. She posted that 20 year old photo and I’m like, my gosh, it’s been 20 years since that, and those were the days, man.

Those were the days that it was drawing 35 million people a week. It was appointment television to watch American Idol back in those days. From season one, once it got big to season, probably up to season five, I don’t think season six really killed it. Jordan sparks, right? Was she with the winner in season six?

I mean, she did well. It just seemed like it tapered off after about maybe seven or eight, but four and five. Man, I remember Taylor Hicks versus Catherine McPhee. I remember that finale. I remember so much. That was when Prince showed up. Prince, they got Prince to perform on the American Idol finale. And he just came out, did his thing and just walked off stage.

They didn’t talk to him. He didn’t say a word other than sing. And they totally surprised everybody with it. They never promoted him. And it was the last segment before they announced. That Taylor had beaten Catherine McPhee and yet another one where it was just like, I remember five so much. Cause I remember Taylor Hicks’s audition and Simon was like talking to Randy and Paula.

And he said, these two will not put you out there to be judged by the public. They will never put you through. And Taylor’s just standing there like, you know, he looks like he’s 40 years old when he tried out. He had full gray hair. It just didn’t look like an American Idol star. And then as he kept going on in the competition, he had his Taylor Hicks fan clubs, the soul patrol.

Remember that? And you had the, who had the McFever, you know, just remember all this stuff. David Hasselhoff was crying at the alley. Yes. I remember that. It just, it was crazy, but those, those were the days I’ll even go back and watch. On YouTube, the season five finale, a team, Taylor Hicks and Catherine McPhee.

I mean, it was, I remember it like it was yesterday, but anyway, Carrie Underwood posts that picture and I’m just like, my God, I can’t believe that was 20 years ago. And then finally, this story, if you saw this on people. com yesterday, I guarantee if you’re a frequent listener to this podcast, you probably knew that I was going to talk about it.

Headline people. com yesterday, Shannon Doherty says relationship with Jenny Garth is now good after past drama quote, I don’t hold any grudges. So. Shannon says, I see her at conventions and we talk and you know, we laugh. I mean, those conventions, we work really hard, but we’re all good. Jenny and I were young and there are things that perhaps I would have done differently back then, way back then, but I don’t really particularly hold any grudges against anyone from that show.

I just think that we’re all experiencing something for the very first time. And when you experiencing something for the first time, you have to give an allowance for mistakes and sometimes poor judgment on my part, maybe theirs. She noted that all the former co stars are all good now. I mean, I hope we are.

So I would say our relationship is good. She even went on she had talked about her previous disagreement with Jenny Garth on Brian Austin greens. Let’s be clear. Her way, her podcast is let’s be clear, right? Or is that Brian Austin greens? I can’t remember whose is what, whose She talked about an onset prank between her and Jenny and Jenny had a prank called pants down day where she would pull down the pants and some of the crew members in a funny way, but some of them were getting annoyed with it.

And then Janet Doherty said, I reversed it and called it skirt up day. And she always wore the men’s Calvin Klein boxer shorts under her clothes. So I didn’t think it was that big of a deal. And so I did skirt up day and oh my God, she lost it on me. And I was just not in the mood to back down. Well, I would hope you’d get over something stupid like that.

Please tell me that wasn’t a grudge held for years. I’m guessing it had more to do with Shannon’s behavior on set, showing up late and stuff like that. And she’s admitted, like, look, it came from that. I was in a horrible marriage and I just didn’t want to tell people I was in a horrible marriage. I would just show up late and do my own thing.

With this story being out there and these people being able to put aside their grudges, it once again throws reality, Steve Beverly Hills, 90210 mediator into all things, Beverly Hills, 90210 because I want to be the mediator. If Jenny Garth and Shannon Doherty can get over their differences, why can’t the cast and Tiffany Amber Thiessen get over whatever.

Differences they’re having. Nobody has yet to come up with a solid answer as to why Tiffany Amber Thiessen is not part of this group. Never goes on any of their podcasts. As far as I know, I mean, they did do that. They remember that couple, maybe like a year ago, Jenny and Tiffany were at the same party, but there was a group picture taken and they were on opposite ends.

And I just, I don’t get it. I never will get it. And I want to be the one that brings everyone together. I know I won’t be, but a man can dream. Can’t he look, if we can get over skirt up day and pants down day on the set of Beverly Hills, 902 and Oh, whatever happened between Jenny and Tori versus Tiffany, because they both don’t seem to be huge fans of her and vice versa.

Can we all just get along? Can’t we please for me for reality, Steve, please. Somebody get me in touch with them. I want to make them all better. I want to fix everything because my life would be more complete if Tiffany Amber Thiessen was part of the 90210 club. She’s best friends with all, I mean, she’s not best friends, but she’s buddy buddy with everybody from Saved by the Bell, her and Mark Paul hang out.

She’s friends with Mario still talks to Elizabeth Berkeley. I don’t know how close she is with Lark, but it seems like they have been fine with everything involving Saved by the Bell. She is absolutely on the outs with the Beverly Hills 90210 cast and nobody, I mean, shit, they all got podcasts. Jenny and Tori have a podcast.

They’ve never talked about it. Brian Austin green as a podcast. He hasn’t talked about it. I am zeroing is on Instagram stories all the time. He never brings it up. Shannon Doherty has got a podcast, but she never really worked with Tiffany. So she wouldn’t really have much to say again. I’ll be fighting this till the day I die.

I’m sure. Come on, let’s all get along people. Anyway. Thank you all for listening. Really appreciate it. Follow me on Apple podcasts also rate and review, but you got to hit play.
