Daily Roundup 5/24 – More Small Details On Jenn’s Season, Liz & Charlie With Interesting Post-Finale Survivor Interviews, The Valley, Brat Pack Doc, Cassie Ventura Speaks Out, & The New Voice Judges

Finally got around to watching Tuesday’s episode of the valley, which is showing the deterioration of Jesse and Michelle’s wedding wedding, marriage, and subsequently Jack’s and Brittany’s relationship. I hope you listened to yesterday’s podcast with. Morgan P from Morgan P talks on Instagram, very good insight because she has been a Vanderpump rules fan since the beginning.

She knows all about Jackson, Brittany, and she is pretty steadfast in saying that she really does think that Brittany is going to stand by this. And this isn’t some sort of storyline just for the show. And she’s going to just take Jack’s back because he’s going to show some short term improvements in his behavior.

Like I said, I’m not a guy that knows all about Jack’s past. I’ve read the headlines, I’ve read the stories, I know that he’s openly cheated on her. He’s admitted to cheating on her. It’s been, she knows he’s cheated on her and you know, from everything I read and just like I said yesterday, he just doesn’t, he comes across as one of the most unlikable guys on television, period, end of story.

And then you see the way he talks to her and this is just the valley. I’ve been talking to other people who have obviously watched him for years who have been saying like, Steve, this isn’t even like the worst of it. Yeah, he’s pretty bad to her this season, but he’s been way worse to her in the past. I’m just like, my God, it just clearly seems like I hope Brittany doesn’t take him back.

But if she does, it really does seem like this is strictly for the kid. This is strictly for Cruz and I get it. There are people in there. Absolutely. She wouldn’t be the first and she certainly won’t be the last. There are absolutely people in this world that have a horrible marriage, but stay with in their marriage and with the person that they are not happy with because they don’t want to split up a family.

Okay. I’m a, you know, I personally wouldn’t do it myself, but I’m also not in that situation. Never been married, no have kid and don’t have kids. So it’s very easy for me on the outside to say that. I just know that it happens. I just know that there are people in this world that aren’t in happy marriages, but stay together because of children.

So it seems like with Brittany complaining as much as she does about Jack’s. And the way he treats her, which she has every right to and what she should be complaining about. For her to take him back would really seem like, Okay, Brittany, but if this happens again, are we supposed to feel sorry for you?

You know what you’re getting into with him, you know the way he treats you. Get out of this. You don’t deserve this. Nobody does. I mean, this guy, I over, over this, you know, this sickness thing, it’s like, yeah, maybe she’s always sick because she’s sick of you. And that day in what big bear is a big bear or Tahoe keep forgetting where they went and Tuesday’s episode.

I think it was Tahoe. It could be big bear though. Either way, the whole point being the women were on the boat with her and they said, Jack, she didn’t drink. And then Jax is like, Oh, but then it just seemed like he didn’t believe it. Yes, she does. Cause she always does this. She always does this. It’s like, okay.

Okay. It just seems like he is, everything has got to be his way or the highway. He’s never wrong. And when he does apologize, it seems like he’s just apologizing in the short term to like calm down a fight that’s about to happen. And he’ll just pick it up later on that guy just,

but I’ll watch Valley season two. Cause I want to find out what the hell is also going on and if there are rumors, if these rumors are true about what was going on behind the scenes or during the separation that Morgan and I talked about yesterday. I’m sure a lot of you have seen this. Hopefully you thought of me when you saw this since this is a major part of my life.

Did you see the trailer for Bratz? It’s coming out on Hulu, June 13th. It’s a documentary actually directed by Andrew McCarthy. One of my all time favorites from pretty and pink, which has the theme song to both of my podcasts, the daily roundup and the weekly podcast. But it’s about the Brack pack and it’s about the eighties.

And he basically goes and tracks down everybody. Rob Lowe, Allie Sheedy, Demi Moore. He tracks down all of them to talk about. Hey, we were labeled this. What did you think about this? Did you like this? Milo Estevez, who’s basically avoided it for 40 years. He didn’t want to talk about it. He didn’t like it.

He was the one I believe. We’re going to find out more obviously when this documentary comes out, but if I remember the story correctly, a New York times, a writer was following Emilio Estevez around for a feature story. And. It was a night out with him where I guess Emilio maybe have said something to somebody at a bar or whatever.

And the writer just decided to call them the brat pack because they were, I guess, acting entitled one night and it just stuck. And so I’m obviously all in on this trailer for it’s called brats. It’s about the brat pack. It’s directed by Andrew McCarthy. It’s going to be on Hulu on June 13th. So I will definitely have a review of that after I watch it.

I did see this. I didn’t watch The Voice. I never watched The Voice. I haven’t seen it in years. Oh, I’ve never even watched a full season. I’ve seen episodes here and there. I’ve tuned into a couple of finales. But I didn’t see this. So this season that just ended this week, the judges were Reba McEntire, John Legend, Chance the Rapper, and Dan and Shay.

Okay, seems like a random group, but they are leaving next season. Only Reba is staying behind, and I’m like, oh, who are the new judges? Next season, the judges Reba McIntyre, Gwen Stefani is coming back, and then they’re bringing in Snoop Dogg and Michael Bublé. Is this show just changing judges every season now?

Is like this their thing? Where they’re gonna rotate every season? Is this gonna be the new one for two or three seasons, or depending on how well they like it? Every judge that this show has ever had has made sense to me. Snoop Dogg doesn’t. He’s a rapper, as any. I mean, Usher is R& B. I wouldn’t consider Usher a rapper.

Usher’s a better singer than Snoop Dogg. Snoop Dogg just kind of talks his lyrics. Trust me. I love some Snoop Dogg. Snoop Dogg was all over my cassette tapes, my CDs back in the 90s. Doggy style was one of the best albums in rap history. I remember it like it was yesterday. It came out my freshman year of college, November of 1993.

I went down to tower records and I bought it for myself and somebody else on the basketball team that wanted it. And they knew I was going and I said, yeah, I’ll buy it for you. Just pay me when you get back when I get back. And I gave him and I wore that album out. Like, cause we had heard Snoop dog on dr.

Dre’s chronic album. You’re like, wow. This guy’s good. I want to see what he’s got and he releases doggie style and that thing was huge. And one of the best rap albums ever, I think. And with that said, do I think he should be judging people on how they should sing? Probably not. Just my opinion. Finally, I want to end with this and it’s about the Cassie case and, and Diddy.

If you saw yesterday, Cassie addressed this for the first time on Instagram. She had a message for everybody. So thank you for all the love and support from my family, friends, strangers, and those I have yet to meet. The outpouring of love has created a place for my younger self to settle and feel safe now.

But this is only the beginning. Domestic violence is the issue. It broke me down to someone I never thought I would become. With a lot of hard work, I am better today, but I will always be recovering from my past. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to take this matter seriously. My only ask is that everyone Everyone open your heart to believing victims the first time it takes a lot of heart to tell the truth out of a situation that you were powerless in.

I offer my hand to those that are still living in fear. Reach out to your people. Don’t cut them off. No one should carry this weight alone. This healing journey is never ending, but the support means everything to me. Thank you. Love always Cassie. When I read something like that, anybody who comes out and speaks after being proven correct about a sexual assault or any sort of physical assault, it’s what infuriates me the most about the Clayton Laura Owens case because Cassie is telling everybody my only ask is that everyone open your heart to believing victims.

She told this in a report in November. A lot of people dismissed her. Diddy said, Oh, just people out for money. She ends up being right. She was telling the truth the whole time. This happened in 2016 and she says it to a police report in 2023. This is what I mean. I absolutely want to believe everybody believe victims when they come out, but when people like Laura Owens do what they do, they make it hard to believe everybody immediately.

Now I want to make this perfectly clear. Cassie is right. And I think people like Cassie. Who do come out and speak. I don’t know what the percentages is, but I would say 90 to 95 percent of the women who do come forward. Hey, I was sexually assaulted. Hey, I was physically assaulted. Aren’t lying, but because of people like Laura Owens, they make us doubt others.

And we can’t immediately just jump to yes, this victim is telling the truth. You want to believe they are telling the truth. Absolutely. And I think in this situation with Cassie, now that she has proof to back it up, it’s like, great. And I just have never believed that there are women who come out and talk about, I’m the woman that was sexually assaulted.

I’m the woman that was physically assaulted. And. The people that don’t believe them, what has always been their argument? Oh, just looking to be famous. Just looking to make a quick buck. I don’t know. Call me crazy. But why would a woman want to be known for being physically assaulted and sexually assaulted?

Really? You think women want to be known for that? They want to get up on a trial stand and answer questions about a night that they were violated? You really think that’s what women are out after? And then people like Laura Owens come along and you’re like, holy shit. You There are women that want that much attention, and so, yes, for me, everything is a case by case basis.

I don’t immediately say, ugh, guilty, ugh. Innocent. We know this woman’s lying or we know this woman’s definitely telling the truth. I take everything as a case by case basis. This is what bothers me about the Clayton and Laura Owens case. Is because now, with this Cassie case coming forward, and video evidence happening, and knowing that she was right the whole time, for 8 years she’s been holding this in.

She hasn’t been able to prove it. She hasn’t, for whatever reason, you know, felt like she lost herself. Did she stay with Diddy another 2 years after that incident happened? Is that what I read? That’s what I mean, but some people just immediately want to jump down women’s throats who say this happened to me five years ago, seven years ago, 10 years ago.

Well, why didn’t you come out then? Why can’t your answer be, wow, let me, I want to hear what she has to say. It’s just frustrating more than anything. Everything is a case by case basis. Hell, when that first story came out from the sun last August or September, when Laura Owens went to the sun to tell her story about Clayton Eckerd, that he had gotten her pregnant with twins.

Clayton Eckerd was guilty until proven innocent in the public opinion, court of public opinion. Now look where we’re at, I’d say 95 percent of the people that have been following this with any sort of regularity are on Clayton’s side. But this is what I mean. This is why I think a lot of people are really triggered by this Clayton and Laura Owens case because she is weaponizing the things that Cassie is advocating for.

And it’s disgusting, but we’ll let an Arizona judge decide her fate. June 10th. 17 days away. I’ll be there. I can’t wait to hear what the judge has to say. Thank you all for listening. Really appreciate it. Follow me on Apple podcasts. Also rate and review, but you got to hit play. It’s the only way it counts as a download.

Please do that. Sports daily will be up in an hour from now. Everybody, I hope you have a great weekend. We’re back on Monday with two more podcasts, daily roundup and the sports daily. So thank you again for listening. I appreciate it. And I will talk to you on Monday.

SLEEP!
