Okay, let’s talk TikTok. It seems like every, I don’t know, month or so, I come on here on my daily roundup and I say. There is a trend on TikTok that is filling up my for you page, and I swear every third video is this trend and I feel like, yeah, every month, maybe every couple months, something pops up.
Well, there’s two trends going on right now that I’m seeing nonstop on my TikTok for you. Page number one is kind of a funny one. I’m sure you’ve seen this or maybe you haven’t. I don’t know why I see the things that I do, but I do understand the TikTok algorithm algorithm. I know once I watch a video.
Then, especially if it’s a trend, I’m gonna see that video numerous times. ’cause they know I’ve stopped and watched it. So maybe all it took was one for me to do it. But I’m sure you’ve seen the cookie challenge at this point, right? You’ve got a mom and a dad and a child. The child is usually between one, one and a half years old, and maybe three.
Sometimes they’ve gone older, but enough to the point where they understand. What’s going on, and they’re usually in the kitchen. The mom and the dad and the child all have a plate in front of them that’s covered by a paper towel. The dad will lift up the paper towel and he’s got one cookie on his plate.
The child will lift up the paper towel and the child will have two cookies on their plate, and then the mother will lift up the paper towel and she’ll have none. And then she goes, oh, well mommy didn’t get one. And it, it just puts the kid in the conundrum. And you know, I’ve seen so many different cookie challenges on this and I’d say it’s running about 50 50.
I’ve seen probably 50% of the kids immediately go like, oh mommy, here you go. You can have one of mine. And then some of them, one, start eating their cookie real quick. They don’t even care that the mother didn’t get one on their plate or, I mean, it’s just really funny. Because you love seeing the kids’ reactions and you love seeing does the kid understand sharing?
And usually when they share the mother, oh, thank you so much, Johnny, that’s so great of you that you shared. And then some of them, the kids are just bargaining. One time the kid got up and they’re like, went to the cupboard to go look for a cookie to give to the mom. It’s funny, I sent it to Courtney. I said, Courtney, you need to do this with Paloma.
And she sent it. She said she was gonna film it. She goes, it’s 50 50. What Paloma does, she goes, I have no idea what Paloma will do. She is, it’s up. It’s up in the air with her. So hopefully Courtney will post that video soon. But it’s a really funny video. It’s a really funny challenge I get every time I come across it.
I’m like so intrigued. ’cause I want to see what these children do and some of ’em are really cute and get really sad for mommy that she doesn’t have any cookies on her plate. And then some just don’t give a shit. So I, and this has nothing to do with somebody’s parenting that, oh, you didn’t teach your kids how to share.
I, I just think some of the kids are probably a little confused and they’re not understanding the concept just yet. Maybe they’re too young, whatever the case may be, but it’s still funny to watch. Now I need to talk to you about the other TikTok trend that has infiltrated my for you page. And I saw it for the first time this weekend.
And it was a solo person dancing to a song that I’m gonna play for you right now. Now it’s not gonna help, uh, you’re gonna hear this song, obviously it’s a TikTok dancing trend, so you’re not gonna be able to see the dance. But I’m just curious if other people have run across this trend in recent days.
And then I’ll get to the questions that I have. Here is the song.

So yes, the song is pop music. It was a song that I remember being on the radio. A whole hell of a lot when I was growing up, especially in the eighties. And then after I got this song in my head, oh, which by the way, you’re welcome that now this song is gonna be running through your head all day, even if you aren’t on TikTok because pop pop music.
Talk about pop music. Talk about pop music. Yeah. Have fun getting that outta your head today. ’cause I haven’t been able to get outta my head and I, it, it’s literally running through my head even when I’m not watching TikTok. But here’s the thing. The videos that I’m seeing are just a bunch of different people doing the dance that is associated now with that song.
You know how when TikTok first started out, it was basically just dance routines to certain songs, whether it was the Weekend or all these other songs that came out basically during Covid, kept us busy to watch people dance during Covid. This one. Is a song, you know, from 1979. I had to look it up because I was actually wondering was this song in the eighties, because if it was, I was adding it to my playlist to play at my party because we’re playing all eighties music.
However, this song came out in 1979, so unfortunately I’m being a stickler when it comes to the music played at my party this year. The DJ will only be playing songs from the eighties outside of one. And that is Ice. Ice Baby, which came out in the summer of 1990, but that song literally formed my high school years.
So it’s gotta be in there. But pop Music came out in 1979, and the song was by M, just the letter M says it was a project by English musician Robin Scott from his debut studio album, New York, London, Paris, Munich. So it was, it was a very, it’s obviously a synthesizer song. It’s a pop song, disco song, whatever it’s called, pop music.
I’m sure you’ve heard it. If you’re of my age or in your forties, you’ve heard that song, right? Well, the thing was, I kept seeing it appear. I was like, why is everybody all the sudden doing a dance to this song from 1979? And as I kept getting it. In my for you page, I realized that there was a dance troupe that performed this at some dance competition, and everybody was talking about this choreographer named Molly Young that created the choreography for this song.
So even the people that are doing it solo that have nothing to do with Molly Young, or just like, oh my gosh, I love Molly Young’s choreography. I’m gonna try the new pop music TikTok trend. So my question is, does anybody know, first off, I don’t know who Molly Young is, is she a, a famous choreographer and this competition, that this team, this dance team, posted on TikTok somewhere recently, or maybe it wasn’t recently?
When was this competition? Does anybody know? Was it last weekend? Was it six months ago and it just caught on, but. The dance troupe that did this, it was about eight girls. I can’t tell what age they are ’cause it was pretty far away on the stage. It looks like it could be either seventh or eighth graders or maybe could be freshmen and sophomores in high school.
It’s a young dance troupe. It’s about eight girls and they have a whole routine to this song. That was actually really, really good because they were, there’s a lot of moving parts in this song and they were like in step and moving perfectly, in sync, in rhythm with each other. So I guess that’s why it took off because the choreography was really, really good.
But I had never heard of Molly Young, and now everybody’s obsessed with Molly Young’s choreography. If you want to just go on TikTok and find it, just Google Molly Young choreography, and then you, just like myself, will be infiltrated with videos of people dancing to pop music. Actually, I’m sorry, I’ve been calling her Molly Young.
It’s Molly Long. Or maybe I was calling her Molly Long, whatever the case, her name is Molly Long choreographer. She’s all over my TikTok now for this choreography she’s created to this pop music song that everybody is doing a dance to. Now, please, please tell me I’m not the only one that has seen this and this is happening to, because I swear to God, one time I had four videos in a row of somebody doing this and dancing to this song.
I just wanna know, when did this actual dance troupe performance happen, and did it just take off recently or is it something like I said, somebody just posted to TikTok recently, but that dance troupe is shit. That dance trou could be two years old. For all I know, I have no idea, but I need some answers and I need them now because this song is absolutely infiltrating my brain and I can’t get rid of it.
