Oh yeah. Before I get started on the recap of the Cat izo interview on Bachelor happy hour. One last thing to say about Muppets take Manhattan.
That was the movie where we were first in, we were first introduced to the Muppet Babies. It was in a dream sequence when Piggy and Kermit were riding in a horse carriage through Central Park. They had this dream sequence of all the little Muppets as babies, and then right after that is when Muppet Babies became a cartoon that was absolutely huge back in the eighties.
Just to let you know, it started with the dream sequence in Muppet State Manhattan. Alright, enough Muppet talk for now. We will watch the movie and discuss it on Friday night. So Kat Izzo goes on the. Bachelor Happy Hour podcast now hosted by Rachel Rekia and Charity Lawson. And neither Kat nor Dale have ever spoken out ever since the breakup.
It’s just been sources tell us weekly sources say this and this and that, and we knew at some 0.1 of them was gonna talk and it ended up being Kat. You know, Rachel and Charity are only three episodes, four episodes into their podcasting career. And they already know what they’re doing. Stringing this out for two episodes when it easily could have been done in one.
But they wanted to lure people back in today for part two, which is probably gonna cover everything that happened from the breakup because what Kat talked about yesterday, seemingly, was everything that led up to the breakup. And I’ve got some notes here and look. I’ll tell you right now, the short version is there wasn’t one major thing that led to this.
There didn’t see, unless we get to part two today and she says there was cheating involved, but based on what you said yesterday, no cheating. It just seemed like these were two people completely on different paths. The one mistake I will say that Kat made, and some people might say she made more than one mistake, but I think the biggest thing here.
And I do understand her thought process going into Paradise was I didn’t wanna prejudge anybody. I didn’t sign my contract until, until stage coach and I left like a week or two weeks later, something along those lines. She did not really know who was going in and she did not wanna look anybody up and have any preconceived notions or anybody going in.
So I, I, I’d say that’s the right mindset to have. You don’t wanna prejudge anybody, but when it comes to Bachelor Nation, I feel like you almost have to. Because a lot of these guys have pasts and have pasts that are easy, easily Googleable and Dale was one of them for sure. So while I applaud Kat for not prejudging him or anybody for that matter, ’cause she said she barely knew anybody going into that show, I think the fact that she wasn’t aware.
Of things that had gotten out on the internet about his relationship with Claire, and then that woman that he dated post Claire, I think that eventually hurt her and it made her probably stick around longer than she should have because it looks to me like Dale essentially displayed the same behavior that we had heard through the grapevine and things that had gotten out on social media that he had with Claire and the woman he dated after her.
So a couple things to point out. He makes content that makes him money and he took it very seriously that they could not be seen in public. Well, clearly this is during the show, before the finale airs. She says she never went to New York. Now I don’t, she didn’t specify is because he didn’t want her there.
I don’t think she specified that or, you know, she’s got a full-time job in San Diego. Maybe she just couldn’t get away for a long enough time to spend in New York. But Dale as a content creator, influencer, even though when she was directly asked by the hosts, how does Dale make his money? Kat basically said, I still really don’t know what his job is.
And that can’t be good for two people who are in a relationship and you don’t know where your partner’s money comes from or how they make money. It could be one of these things where he’s jack of all trades, master of none, where he just has a bunch of odd jobs, a modeling gig here, a hosting gig here.
It could be one of those things, but she didn’t seem to know where he made his money. The other thing that she pointed out was she never seemed to get any full answers from him. She seemed to say that San Diego wasn’t a place where he could grow his career. And to me, obviously that was a big thing. When I had heard that this was the final couple of the season or one of the final couples this season, I was just like, I don’t think, based on everything that I have heard, that there’s any way Dale’s moving to San Diego.
I just didn’t see it, and I knew Kat was only, I think. A year, 18 months in San Diego. She had just moved there within the last two years. At some point for a new job there, she wasn’t gonna pack up and move to New York. So the only way this relationship was gonna work, unless they wanted to keep it long distance the whole time.
And if you listen to Kat in the interview yesterday, she was basically putting her foot down saying that is not gonna happen. I want to be with my person. There was no way Dale was moving to San Diego. The problem is he kept bread crumbing her. Into thinking it was a possibility. Now, I don’t know if that was to keep her around, to keep the physical relationship going, whatever the case may be, she made it clear, at least that’s what I took outta the interview, that he never said no, he would never move there, but he never said yes.
He just made it seem like, yeah, it was a possibility, but that anytime she actually pushed him on it, he would kind of either change the topic, go in a different direction, and she just said, I never got full answers from him. She also said she still doesn’t even know to this day who he really is. And was he playing a part with her the whole time that they were together again when you were watching what they were posting on social media post show.
There was a lot of positive response to these two. Oh, Kat has changed. She know what she wants. Dale is perfect for her. Look at the stuff that they’re posting. They look in love. And then you listen to that area yesterday, and it’s once again, I don’t wanna say it was bad as Rachel and Brian who when they did post stuff, they weren’t showing you all the messiness that was happening behind the scenes.
But based on what Kat said in that interview yesterday, from the time. The show started airing and she started hearing more and more stuff. She realized there were problems. The biggest one being she said the first crack in the relationship was while it was airing the whole thing with Alicia, she said Dale came to her the day before it aired, saying that whole thing with Dale being interested in Alicia, came from Jonathan and he deflected it when she experienced what happened on the show.
And then she’s like, and then I watched the episode and it literally was coming outta his mouth that he was interested in Alicia. And he never led me to believe that. In fact, he went the other way and said, no, that was never brought up by me. That was brought up by Jonathan major red flag, to say the least.
And then she would bring it up and he said, don’t bother me with that. Essentially, she said, I have to accept his lifestyle or just move on from the co, from the topic. I mean, if any of us knew this in the moment, I hope her friends knew this, and were telling her, Kat, get outta this. What are you doing?
This guy won’t answer your questions, accept his lifestyle, or just move on from it. That’s what you wanna hear from your partner. She said the week of the reunion, it got really bad. He said he was just stressed with work. She felt alone in the relationship on the reunion show. She was all ready to speak up for herself, and Dale just told her to keep her cool, keep it calm, cool, collected.
She felt that she was the only one. She was the only one that ever initiated hard conversations. She never got clarity out of the outta the guy. And at the reunion. He was basically trying to make her quiet. I mean, this is just a litany of red flags from the time she started talking on this interview, which was about, you know, minus the commercials.
I would say 30 to five to 40 minutes. But this was not a healthy relationship based on what Kat said in that interview yesterday. But I think the worst thing that she said, at least so far was the last thing she told, like the last five minutes of the podcast. She told a story about. She wanted to go to New York Fashion Week, and then Dale basically told her we’ve got a weekend trip in Vegas.
Now, again, this is Kat’s side coming from it. Maybe if we talk to Dale or not, we, I’m certainly not talking to Dale, but. If Dale actually comes out and does a podcast and speaks on this, he’ll say that Kat’s lying. She knew all about the Vegas trip and what it was about. Anyway, Kat’s version is we end up going to Vegas.
I think it’s, Hey, me and my boyfriend are going to Vegas for a weekend. Maybe there’s an event there or two that they’re gonna be on the red carpet for or anything. She goes, no, we get to Vegas and it’s a whole influencer weekend and we’re staying with a bunch of other influencers and all of them are guys, and I’m the only woman there, and we’re staying in the same influencer house, wherever that was.
Or maybe it was in a hotel, but a penthouse suite or something like that. But they were staying with influencers. And she said the other thing is it was like for. A workout or a boxing type thing, and she goes, look, I’m not the biggest workout person out there. I know Dale is, but our whole weekend there I had to do workouts and put myself in boxing gloves.
And she goes, yeah, you saw it on my Instagram. It looked like we were having a great time. She goes, I was miserable. I thought that was probably the worst thing she said in that podcast was that the guy literally tricked her into going on this trip. If you’re saying like, Hey, let’s go to Vegas. We got, and maybe he told her like there was an event going on that they were going to be at, but she said at no point was I ever, she made it.
She seemed to make it clear that at no point did she ever think he came to her and said, it’s an influencer weekend. It’s just gonna be me, you, and a bunch of other male influencers in the same house. She goes, I get there, and that’s what it was. And she goes, I hated the weekend. And you know, miserable the whole weekend.
I didn’t go to New York Fashion Week because of this, and that’s basically where the podcast ended. And then part two coming today, she’s gonna talk to us about basically, I guess the breakup itself, like when the breakup happened, what she said to him, what his response was. But we can see these two were never made out for each other.
And I just said that, like I said, I in the beginning, I think the one biggest mistake here for Kat was that she didn’t do her homework on Dale because. Honestly, listening to that yesterday, none of it surprised me. None of it. And I think because she didn’t maybe bother to look into anything with Claire or anything with the woman he dated post Claire, it just seems like the same old, same old he gets with somebody that is more of a transactional relationship.
And once that wears thin. Or it isn’t important anymore, or that per person gives him a little pushback on, is this, do you really like me or is this transactional? He’s out. That’s the sense I got from part one of the interview yesterday and part two’s coming today. We’ll cover that in tomorrow’s podcast.
And finally, couple things to go over. I don’t wanna spend too much time on this. I know it was a big topic yesterday because. These two interviews both dropped yesterday. Mel Owens on with almost famous. Mel was just on with she’s all batch last week. I gave you my thoughts on how he comes across on these podcasts.
I didn’t think he came across well on the podcast with She’s All Batch. You heard Courtney on Thursday’s podcast saying she hated how Mel came across. I didn’t think he could come him across any worse than he did on She’s all Batch. Until I heard yesterday’s with Ben and Ashley. Holy shit, by the way, does anybody know that Mel is an attorney?
I don’t know if he’s ever mentioned that to anybody, but he is. It’s called sarcasm. This guy, I’m not gonna sit here and call him a narcissist. It’s a, it’s a very, that’s a very strong word, but he has a very healthy ego, and I get the impression that Mel does not, he’s not very self-aware. How he comes across when he does these podcasts, because that’s back to back podcasts within a span of five days where he comes across like a condescending ass.
I don’t see how else I can put that nicely. The amount of times he told Ben, you’re wrong. The amount of times he interrupted Ben or Ashley, I’m just like, what is this guy’s issue? You know? Remember. Mel and Peg, I was about to say Megan, Pell, Mel and Peg are on this, I don’t even wanna Victory Tour, this podcast tour, where in every podcast they’re basically saying how much they do not care about what the public thinks of them.
Yet that’s all these podcast appearances seem to be about. Mel saying, you know, people are saying this. Let me get this straight. Lemme straighten them out with this and peg just nonstop in the comments sections of these Instagram posts. Go look at ’em for yourself. She’s literally harting liking, agreeing with anybody that’s on her side in the peg versus Cindy and sniping back at people who don’t agree with her.
Think that she should just be quiet and stop talking about this relationship as much as they are with as many appearances as they’re doing. It’s one thing to go on a i I expected this couple to go on bachelor related podcasts, and you’re like, but why are they doing it at the end of January? Well, it seems like they were gone and doing trips and you know, settling down after their finale aired.
I’m fine with them doing it in January ’cause it’s not like they did it right after the show ended really. Maybe they did. Either way, if anybody has listened to Peg and or Mel on, she’s all batch and almost famous. Let me just ask you this. Short, simple, yes or no question. Do you like them more or less since you heard them on both of these podcasts?
I think the majority is liking them less now. According to them, they don’t care what we think, so they shouldn’t even care on these last five minutes that I’ve just given you on them. But the thing is, we know they do because that’s why they’re doing this podcast tour. It’s like they’re trying to clear their name for something.
They keep telling us how happy they are and things are great between them. That’s great. Then stop talking about it. Just go live your life. I, you know, look, I understand that they are older, they have been through more in their life than we have, or people that are younger than them, but they’re also throwing that in our faces.
Hey, I’m 62. He’s 67. We’ve been through so much. We’ve both been through divorce. We have kids. We’ve had more life experience than all of you. It’s almost like we can’t question what they’re doing because they’re older and more experienced than we are. That’s not the way it works. We’re allowed to criticize.
Nobody is hating on them, and if you are hating on them and sending them death threats or calling them names, that’s wrong. But they seem to take like most people in this franchise. They just seem to take criticism as, why do people not like us? Why does everybody hate us? They don’t hate you. They’re just criticizing some of the things that you’re saying on these podcasts, and I’m sorry, Mel, buddy, you’re not coming across well at all on these podcasts.
I don’t even know what your goal is in doing these podcasts because anybody that asks you a question and pushes back on you a little bit, you immediately get defensive. And you immediately cut them off and resort back to either I’m older, I’m more experienced. I’m a lawyer. I’ve been in courtrooms before.
Great. I don’t care about your courtroom experience. That has nothing to do with the Golden Bachelor show that you were on. He just doesn’t seem to get it. Look, if I’m wrong, I’ll be the first to admit it. When I say if I were to do a poll of. Are Mellon Peg coming across better or worse from doing, she’s all batch and almost famous.
I guarantee the poll is 75 to 85%. People would say worse. If it’s not that number, so be it. But again, I’m a podcaster. I cover the Bachelor franchise. I’m gonna talk about these things, and that’s just my opinion. I don’t hate Peg, I don’t hate Mel. I’ve got nothing against them. I’m just giving my opinion on their podcast appearances with my friends, Stephanie and Jackie.
I don’t know Ben and Ashley, but I did listen to their podcast, so they got one download from me, and I usually don’t listen to their podcast, not because I don’t like them. It’s just, again, I only listen when I need to listen to get certain quotes, and when I know I’m gonna talk about something, I wanna listen to what these people have to say.
How about Ben and Ashley did a fine job in that podcast enough, you know? Not softball, but easy questions in there. But then when Mel would give an answer that they didn’t particularly care for, they would immediately challenge him on it. I liked that. The one thing that I didn’t care didn’t like in the interview was they didn’t even bring up Mel’s podcast appearance.
I understand he covered this on cheese all batch, but I don’t know if they cut that out of their podcast and edited it out. But how do you not ask them? Again about his comments, about 45 to 60-year-old women that he liked, and I don’t want anybody with artificial hips. I know he was gonna go to the story of, oh no, I was telling a story about a story.
No, no, no, no. I don’t care about why it was brought up. I just care about What about that is, is it wrong? Is, is that not your age range? Why were you so anti artificial hips? Like, do you understand how that common is offensive? They didn’t, unless I miss, I, I listened to the whole podcast. I don’t think they asked him that, and I was like, I can’t believe they didn’t bring up the biggest issue with Mel Owens.
They brought it up in a way where they said, Hey, normally anybody that’s a lead of this show comes from a previous season. We know a lot about them. You were just told, Hey, here’s your Golden Bachelor, and we knew nothing about you for three months into your filming. I thought that would’ve been the perfect time to say, and the one thing we did end up finding out about you was this podcast appearance.
Can you explain this to us? Mel’s answer to that, even though they didn’t go about the podcast appearance and they just said, and he just went into it and just, well, you know what his answer was Google me. He pulled a Kurt Signi Google Me. Again, not very self-aware. That’s not how it works with this franchise.
He thinks that everybody should have just Googled him to know more about him before the show started. It’s like, I, I, I don’t know how to tell you this, Mel. That was the wrong answer to give when Ben asked you, Hey, we didn’t know anything about you. Well, you should have Google me. Yeah, bad answer. Anyway.
Didn’t care for that. I hope they’re done with their podcast tour. And Peg, I would just suggest to you stop going in the comments and responding to everybody because it’s obvious. The only like comments that people who like you and for people who push back or say, maybe you shouldn’t have said this. You know, you’re combating them.
It’s just let it go. You guys have made it clear you’re your own thing and, and you and PE has said in numerous interviews, look, I understand people don’t like me. I understand that I’m not for everybody. But then when the people that aren’t for peg, she responds to them and it’s like she’s trying to get them to like, and just let it go.
Stop the media tour. You guys say everything is great and you’re happy and you see each other. He comes to Vegas, you go to Orange County, that’s great. Just stop the podcast tour. We don’t need it anymore. There’s nothing you’re gonna say that’s gonna change anybody’s mind. And it seems like that’s what they’re trying to do.
Very, very bizarre. And finally. Dirty dancing too is apparently going to happen, and Jennifer Gray will reprise her role as baby. This has a lot of people up in arms because they’re saying there is no way this movie should be made without Patrick Swayze. I know it’s early, obviously they haven’t even started filming this thing yet.
I don’t know if it’s been written. I dunno if it’s just been greenlit to be now be written a script, whatever the case may be. And I might be jumping on the early train here about dirty dancing too without Patrick Swayze. I just think this kind of puts a stain on the franchise. I think you soil it, it’s, this is like a money grab and.
I do believe that most dirty dancing original fans will at least go see this because Jennifer Gray is in it. Like nobody watched that dirty dancing quote unquote sequel Havana Knights or whatever that was. I don’t think most people care. ’cause they’re like, well, it’s not Johnny. It’s not baby. We’re not watching this.
If you at least put baby in it, there will be people that are like, I wanna see this. Like where does the story go? What is, what’s the deal here? But I just, I hate this idea. I’ve seen Dirty Dancing a lot. I liked that movie. I thought it was a really good movie. And trust me, this is coming from the guy who won the seventh grade Lip Sync contest, dressed half Man and Half Woman singing Time of My Life from that movie and that thing, that song and that performance of me, half man, half Woman.
I did probably 15 times between winning it in the seventh grade lip sync contest to graduating high school. Did I do it in college? No, never did it in college, but for six years I did that performance probably 12 to 15 times. I won it in seventh grade and just a couple off the top of my bat won it in seventh grade.
They came back and asked me to do it as an encore performance when I was a freshman in high school. They said, will you come back and and do it? And I did it. I did it at the. My middle school’s Autumn Fest. I did it at student council camp. I did it in high school. I know I did it 10 to 12 times. Maybe 15 was too much.
It was 10 to 12 times maybe, because at Autumn Fest I did it more than once. I don’t remember. But yeah, so I have a small place in my heart for that movie and that song for sure. And I just don’t like. I don’t want dirty dancing too. Even if it has Jennifer Gray in it. I, I will I watch it? Yeah. But I already know I’m going in with a bad taste in my mouth.
Anyway, thank you all for listening. I really appreciate it. Follow me on Apple Podcasts. Also, rate and review, but you gotta hit play. It’s the only way it counts as a download. Sports Daily coming up in an hour from now, so go check that out. Again, thank you all for listening. I appreciate it. And I will talk to you tomorrow.
