What fun times last night, huh? I think the guys change their mind on this show quicker than they change their underwear. And their reasoning is so illogical, I don’t even know where to begin with it most of the time. Like I’m really trying to put myself in their position and trying to see how in the world what comes flying out of their mouth remotely could even make sense. And I just can’t. But then again, maybe I’m not supposed to. Because I’d like to think in my 43 years on this earth, I’ve built up a decent sense of my surroundings and being “woke” as the kids would say. Nothing I see on that TV when it comes to making decision is remotely close to that. Every stereotype the men on this show get is basically being confirmed by their actions. Yes, we say it in jest how many of these guys are dogs and crave the attention from all the women who throw themselves at them on social media. Then they go off and act like that on TV and you say to yourself, “Gee, no wonder.” It’s bizarre. Lets break down a bit of what we saw last night.
Colton, Tia, & Chris
The episode began where last Tuesday’s ended, and that was Tia confronting Chris about kissing Krystal the night before. Chris didn’t deny. But again, how could we. You know, we SAW it. There were cameras filming them. So at least he passed Idiocy 101 and didn’t completely bomb it. But then, things started going south for him trying to explain to Tia why just hours earlier, he was telling her he’d stand by her and he was there for her, and, you know the rest. I can’t even begin to do his explanation to her justice because I couldn’t understand it for the life of me. Yes, I understand that this show is about exploring your options, but not immediately after you just told someone and given them every indication that basically you are there for them. We could all see that.
I think this all plays into dating in general in 2018. Espeically within this franchise. You’ve seen me get asked in “Reader Emails” numerous times what am I hearing about this so-and-so couple, and do I know what’s going on with so-and-so. And what is my answer usually. Hell, I don’t know, because these people’s idea of dating within this franchise is completely warped. Yes, I’m sure Chris did have feelings for Tia. They hit it off, had a good date, made out, and certainly were interested in each other. Regardless of if Chris was fully 100% convinced Tia was over Colton, the bottom line was he said what he said to her to make her feel secure about their relationship, then hours later, was tonguing down someone else. It makes zero sense, and Tia nailed it on the head in that he was just saying what she wanted to hear in that moment. Then acts surprised when she’s bothered by it. Really?
Chris even said to her “It doesn’t change how I feel with anyone” when asked why he kissed Krystal. So shouldn’t that make Krystal feel pretty sh***y? Why would SHE even want to be with a guy who just made out with her, but is still trying to salvage something, anything with Tia? Maybe that’s why Krystal broke down in tears a bit later because Chris’ actions weren’t backing up his words. It’s pretty simple: If you’re into a girl then you don’t make out with other women. That’s pretty standard when it comes to dating, no? If Chris wants to explore his options, he has every right to do that. That’s what Paradise is for. There’s plenty of options out there. Just don’t go running to Tia and giving her a false sense of hope with your nonsense about being there for her, and even though you made out with someone, it doesn’t change how you feel with anyone else. Uhhhhh, yes it does. Maybe to you it doesn’t, but there’s a reason Tia is upset and, unbelievably enough in this instance, it didn’t have to do with Colton.
Although what would a BIP episode be if it weren’t for a little Tia/Colton drama for your mama. I can’t keep up with these two, well moreso Colton, when it comes to where they stand. I mean, how can I possibly know when Colton himself changes his mind every 14 seconds about her? Jacqueline arrived from Arie’s season and she asked Colton on a date. This sent Tia into a tailspin because of course it did. No one watching possibly understands why she’s so hung up on this guy, so naturally when one of her “friends” from Arie’s season wants to go out with him, do we really expect to calmly accept that? Better chance of Chris making sense than of that happening. However, Colton says no because of everything he’s dealing with now, and it’d just be better he didn’t accept.
Something about Colton’s reasoning seemed completely off to me. Did anyone else get that sense. In a way, it made sense. But if I’m Tia, I can’t imagine why she would’ve felt good about it. Basically, Colton took the position of, “Either I date Tia here in Paradise or I leave.” There were no other options to him because any date with anyone else would’ve just made Tia mad. But if your whole point in going on the show was to see if anything was there with Tia, and you didn’t fully achieve that after your first date, tell her to go on other dates and that you weren’t mad, but then come back around and now say that you’ve made up your mind because a Bibiana conversation? The whole thing is pretty maddening. Maybe Colton did come to the realization that he was losing Tia, but should she be excited about a guy that does that. Especially considering tonight, all sh** will hit the fan when he gets a date card, goes on his date with Tia, and Raven basically tells her what everyone at home is screaming at the TV. That Colton isn’t for her. I swear, if someone mentions the Jared/Ashley story, I might poke my eyeballs with a fork. They are forever going to be the go-to case now for any two people in this franchise who are on and off and I will despise every mention of it because it’s ridiculous. Ugh. Lets move on…
