I have a couple of questions
1.) what’s the deal with Mike Johnson? Ashley I alluded to something on her podcast. I don’t know what Ashley heard, I’ve just been told that’s what she said.
2.) do you know of any beef between Rachel Lindsay and Raven? I noticed that Raven wasn’t at Rachel’s bachelorette party. There definitely is some since Rachel hasn’t been seen with Raven forever, but I have no idea what it is.
3.) Lastly, are we about to see Hannah G as a villain ?

On Monday’s BIP episode they had a promo for Hannah B. coming at some point this season. Do you have any more info on this? Obviously she will not be a contestant, but was wondering what happens with her coming and I didn’t see anything about it on the episode-by-episode spoilers.

Steve – I started listening to the Ben and Ashley I podcast because I was curious to hear what Jed had to say. I had to shut it off after 10 minutes it was so painful and cringe-worthy. I don’t understand why he thinks going on these podcasts and offering up complete BS is going to help his image. Unless he is going to completely own up to what he did, I think he needs to take a step back and lay low for a while. YIKES.

1) What is your take on Chris Harrison’s comments about Tyler not being the Bachelor after his date with Gigi? I thought Chris sounded like a disapproving parent or like he was pissed. Or maybe he is trying to throw people off by saying Tyler won’t be the Bachelor…Then he backtracked and said to give the guy a break, they’re all single, and let them live.
2) With the redemption arc Chris B is getting on BIP, is it possible that he could be considered for the Bachelor? (Gross)
Comment: He’s engaged. He’d have to end it this month, but no, I don’t see that either way.

I’m fairly new to Bachelor Nation, but you were the one that got me into it! Arie’s season was super huge on my campus and I had major FOMO, so I looked for spoilers and there you were. So thank you for getting me into this fandom and helping me stay one step ahead of my fellow viewers.
This first question is in regards to early Bachelor seasons, so I’m hoping you could help me out with it. I was thinking back on what the first episode I saw of The Bachelor was and I have no idea who’s season it is. It was probably around 10 years ago so I’m hoping that’s in the time frame of your expertise. All I remember is this being the first episode of the season. A woman with dark hair came out of the limo and had (I think) half a heart tattooed on her finger/hand. She said to The Bachelor that she was looking for someone to complete her heart, and the bach was like “hang on,” went up to Chris and asked if he could give her a rose right then and there. Chris was like “uhh okay sure?” I remember the woman walking into the mansion with the rose and all of the other women were asking if she came with the rose, but she said the bach gave it to her and everyone started freaking out. Whew. Okay, so my question is: do you know which bachelor this is? I have searched for too long and have not found anything so I’m relying on the master of The Bachelor Franchise. Was that Tierra from Sean’s season? Am I right on this?
Second, not really a question, but it’s just my opinion on the Tyler/Hannah/Gigi thing. I was, and probably still am, a huge Tyler supporter. And Hannah asking him out for a drink was the highlight of the season for me. At first, I was a believer that they would reconcile and live happily-ever-after as they were destined. But I’ve gotten back down to Earth and realized these are two single people on opposite sides of the country and have been moving their separate ways for two months. I bet the drink was great and they talked logistics about how to move forward and what the smartest thing to do would be. Not gonna lie, the Tyler/Gigi leaks took me by surprise, but I had to remind myself he’s single, has probably been in contact with Gigi for a while, and is just doing him. Just as Hannah is doing. I’m Team Happiness here and wish the best for them, whether that be them being romantically involved or just friends and supportive of each other.
Going off that, Tyler is still talks in with being the next Bachelor, but Chris said in a recent interview that he’s fallen into “third choice” because it’s “obvious that he’s focused on his modeling career” or something of the sort. When I first read it, I thought, “Huh? Because he’s possibly blooming a new relationship with Gigi Hadid, means he’s focused on modeling and his career?” I was wondering what your thoughts are on that because I was very confused considering Chris has been relatively supportive of Tyler, then all of a sudden he’s saying he’s not taking the franchise seriously because he’s connecting with Gigi and not Hannah anymore? I see what Chris is saying, but that’s just the company line of what they’re looking for.
Anyway, sorry for such a long email. It’s my first one and I had a lot of thoughts on what’s happened this post-season. Thank you for all you do! I know you don’t think it will happen, but I’m still hoping for an interview with Chris Harrison. Maybe when he’s retired.

I’m curious to see whether you agree with me on this, or have any intel on Clay Harbor being groomed to be the next bachelor? Watching BIP last night it hit me that his storyline is similar to Colton’s last year: hunky football player, just out of a relationship with someone from the Bachelor franchise (Angela), ends a relationship at the end of BIP (like both Colton and Nick). And, in choosing Clay, ABC could silence all the critics of the show who claim the network isn’t racially diverse enough. Last night several of the women on BIP were ogling his muscular build and it hit me that perhaps they’re looking at him. It would answer why Chris Harrison is so vocal about Tyler’s “not being serious enough” to be considered for the role seeing as he’s too busy out playing the field. Which is a total crock of %*&$#. I don’t think Peter’s got what it takes and don’t think they’d pick Mike…but Clay could interest them.
What do you think???
Comment: If Mike is a consideration, then Clay has to be as well. However, like I said earlier, if you ask me today, I think it’s gonna be Peter.

Hi Steve,
Quick question about the Demi / Kristian story line this season. Demi mentioned in the premiere that she and Kristian were non-exclusive when she went on the show- do you know if that is the case? Of course it’s the narrative they would go with to manufacture this plot line, but from pictures and your reporting, it seems like they were in a committed relationship before Paradise filming. They were seeing each other since about February. Only they technically know what they were labeled as and what that label consisted of. However, behind the scenes Demi was saying she was bringing her girlfriend on the show to people, so, take that as you will.
I’m all for diversity and LGBT representation, but I hate how forced this feels. It feels less like authentic representation when you go about it in such a scripted way. ABC bent over backwards to make exceptions for Demi in order to get this story. There is no way a male contestant would be allowed to have his girlfriend from back home come to pursue him on the show, be allowed to join the cast, and then be rewarded with an engagement ring at the end of it. It’s especially hypocritical since Demi went on Hannah’s season and dragged Scott for going on the show with a girlfriend. Thoughts?
Comment: Yeah, it really makes no sense in that context. But because it’s with the first same sex couple in 38 seasons, and another 9 more of their summer shows, I guess it gets a free pass.

Do you have any additional information on wether this is true or not?

I have to admit I was hoping that Hannah and Tyler would get back together after Hannah’s heartbreak. Then after all the posts and news stories this weekend, yikes.
Honestly, looking back now I think Tyler knew exactly how to grow his fan base. He was getting so many followers because he was originally spoiled as engaged to Hannah. Once the spoiler proved to be wrong he had to find another way to gain followers hence constantly sticking up for Hannah. Seeing how his friend acted and posted ATFR something didn’t add up. I think Tyler has a good PR rep, knew how to grow his fan base. His friend knew more and that’s why all that nonsense was posted by him. He was no longer interested in Hannah but knew he would get more followers if he continued to flirt and support her. If he truly respected her he would have never let his best friend act that way. Who he hangs out with is a representation of himself as well. It was an act and in interviews he left it open ended with we will see where it goes because he knows that’s what bachelor nation wanted. His family seems to like Hannah but He had already moved on. He kept up with the support and likes of all her pictures as long as it meant he was becoming more popular. Now he can do what he wants but I do feel bad for Hannah. There is no way he didn’t know what was happening at the end of ATFR. He stopped liking any posts about her after her last post about the season. Just my opinion. Now on to hoping that Hannah gets DWTS!

I am gonna re ask a question because I was asking based off hypotheticals, but now there is a perfect example. Do you think post production goes back to re-edit episodes after things in the media come out? To make someone look a certain way?
Like it seemed their MO was to destroy Blake, even a Chris Harrison interview he was saying how bad Blake effed up…so with this new Caelynn story, you think they’d edit to ease up on the over dubs of her saying the same things over and over? Or that’s prob most the paradise story huh? Well after the first rose ceremony at the beginning of next week, Blake’s drama kinda ends. Caelynn, Tayshia, and Hannah have all moved on.

Hi Steve,
I thought BIP is a place where people get to explore new relationships with the other rejects. I’m frustrated watching this BS play out with Caelynn and Kristina. It’s all stuff that happened that we didn’t get to witness and the girls now come off like they are mentally unstable.
Why can’t we see more of the new stuff happening? The new interactions between contestants that haven’t met or hooked up before?
I guess I’m just wishing I was watching something fun and exciting and people falling into new love…. but instead the vibe coming out of my tv is negative. People are bringing their old problems to paradise instead of wanting to start a fresh, new relationship.
Comment: I hear what you’re saying, but it’s 2019. Social media dominates. And especially plays a huge role in this show now. Hell, it actually has for a few years now. We all remember Joe Bailey and what he was doing pre-show with Samantha. The pre-show hook ups, and who was talking to who is PART of BIP now. These people all talk to each other and the show loves that, because they have built in storylines going in now. There’s nothing they can do to change it. You can’t tell these people not to talk to or contact other contestants. Impossible. So this is just the way it is from now on.
