I know you said Tia was in the running to be bachelorette (along with Clare/Tayshia). Any idea why they didn’t go with her or how seriously they were considering her? do you think she’s still in the running for future Bachelorette or is her original season too far removed now? It’s really impossible to say who’s in the running for future seasons, just because we have no idea when those seasons roll around, who’s available. Basically the best answer is, anyone from this franchise who is single at the time technically has a chance.
Have you heard of any former contestants that will always be in the running/on the producers minds for Bachelorette? (Like Kristina Schulman, Tia, Becca Tilley etc.) I don’t think any of those would ever get it. Tia was the closest, but again, the next “Bachelorette” will probably come from Matt’s women.
What about Bachelor? Are there any guys who are perpetually in the running? I would think Peter Krause and Mike Johnson are guys that will always be “in the running,” whatever that means. Again, as long as someone is single at the time of casting, I guess they’re all technically in the running.
Also- am I the only person who was annoyed by the stupid baby crying sound effects in last weeks episode?
Comment: I’m sure others were, especially when it was clearly piped in and not coming out of the toy baby.

First of all, thanks for all you do! I’m sure it couldn’t have been easy spoiling bachelorette/bachelor seasons filmed during a pandemic (with everything being filmed at one location), but you’ve gotten 2/3 so far!! Good for you!
Question on Matt’s season. You said you have 3 of the final girls, can you confirm if Abigail is one of them? Curious to see if the girl who got the first impression rose made it very far. Until I have all final 4, I won’t release who I have I don’t think. Hate doing that.
Also I am late to the game on this, but I watched The Haunting of Hill House series this fall and Elan has a small part in it! I’m surprised I recognized him but went to double check who it was and sure enough, Elan Gale. Seems so random.

Hey Steve! There’s been so much talk about how much Clare was able to “research” her guys online while in quarantine, and I’m sure Matt was able to too since those women were announced before filming. Plus we know the contestants look into the leads every season. My question is how do you think it would go if the show did a completely blind season where no names, not even the lead, are announced beforehand? I know the lead helps drum up publicity, but do you think it would help avoid a situation where people think they talked online with the castmember beforehand?
Comment: Matt didn’t see his women. His women were posted 3 days before filming began and he’d already given up his phone. So he didn’t see them.
It’s impossible to film this show where the lead isn’t known beforehand. It’d get out the second there is a first date. Also, it does nothing for them to do that from a marketing standpoint. You want people to know who your lead is.

2nd time emailer but long time follower!
1. Any insight on the next season of Temptation Island? I know you and Kaci spoke about it last time she was on. Just curious if you’ve heard anything about air dates. I know people get upset when you veer off Bachelor talk but I absolutely loved your coverage of TI. All I know is season 3 is done filming and it airs in January. Hopefully I’ll be able to collaborate with them again this season.
2. Speaking of TI, any thoughts of bringing Kate from season 2 on? I know she evaded you during airing/after the finale. She recently was asked on an IG question if she’d go on your podcast and said yes (she just didn’t think anyone would still be interested). She doesn’t talk to David anymore so probably would get the honest scoop from her experience. She did? Interesting. Something I’d look into.
3. I know there was the hoopla about Pilot Pete saying he’s going to speak freely once his contract is up next March.
A.) do you think in light of that, ABC will try to make the NDA’s timeframe longer? Well that NDA has already been signed. I doubt they’d try and change his or any ones in the future.
B.) Will you not be able to approach Claire to talk again until Nov 2021? That’s what it looks like.
C.) is it 1 year for both the lead and the contestants? Yes. 1 year from your finale airing.
4. What is your opinion of the challenge casting? Do you like how MTV has branched out to so many shows, including the international ones? Or would you rather see more OG’s/MTV regulars come back? Yes. And at first, I wasn’t a fan. I liked the RW/RR family. But I’ve really grown to like a lot of the others from shows I’ve never watched or heard of.
5. Have you heard the rumors that Paulie was banned from the challenge and that’s why Cara isn’t coming back either. I’ve heard them. I just don’t know how true they are.
Finally, just want to thank you for what you do. I loved that you had Olivia on the podcast again. The live show when you had her on the first time is one of my favorite episodes (and I didn’t even get to see in person but it was that great). I think Olivia’s time on the show was the true eye opener on production manipulation. I know it had been going on for years but I think the platform you gave Olivia to speak out, is truly the catalyst that opened viewers eyes.
I know you wave off compliments from your following but I appreciate your reporting and integrity. I appreciate that you don’t go live with something without checks and balances. I don’t just mean for credibility sake on a story. You have a vault of things shared to you that you don’t take public. I think more people should have an appreciation for how you’ve evolved and garnered relationships and trust with many members of Bachelor Nation. You also never shy away from admitting if you were wrong or had a misstep. Something others could certainly stand to learn from (*cough, *cough, here’s looking at you Nick Viall).

1. What is your favorite bachelor/bachelorette/spinoff season and why? Bachelor Pad 3 when Nick Peterson blew the whole thing up.
2. Where do you get your spoilers from and how do you verify that they are telling the truth? A little birdie tells me. And I just know because birds are smart.
3. Regarding your spoilers for this season (final four, Brendan leaving, etc.) how certain on a scale of 1-100 (100 meaning you’re absolutely sure) are you that that’s how it plays out?
Comment: I hate answering this question because saying anything less than 100 turns into “Reality Steve isn’t sure what happens.” Brendan leaves. I know that. Ben and Zac are the final 2. I know that. She picks Zac. I know that. Are they still together right now? I’m not entirely sure. If I had to guess, I’d say no.

I have a question that’s been driving me nuts, but maybe it’s more of a question for Ashley (or Kat). Do you notice how all these girls basically since Bens season get SO much work done that their faces all look the same?! Jojo and Becca T could be twins when originally they really didn’t look alike. I know Kaitlyn admits to getting botox and most girls say they get lip fillers. Kaitlyn was SO naturally pretty on her season. Can you ask Ashley- I must know WHAT’S the draw. It doesn’t look like Ashley gets work done, does she know why any girl would do this to their face?! Is it an LA thing? Ekkk I can’t handle how all these pretty girls essentially look identical now- minus few! I totally understand why some would get a boob job but WHY all the strange face stuff on girls too young for wrinkles?! PS this email is coming from a 32 midwestern female but I feel like I could be generations away from them w how baffled I am by this “trend.”

1. Are Clare and Dale doing anything specific in San Diego(my hometown) other than a short vacay? I have no idea.
2. What happens in finale between Tayshia and Zac C? She picks him.
3. Is Tayshia dating anyone now or at least communicating with someone right now? I’m not sure.
4. What is Hannah Ann’s role in ette and when will we see her? She’s not on it as far as I know.
5. Are rumors true re Joe could become next Bach? I’d like to see him, Brendan, Tyler C, Shawn Booth, Peter Kraus or Benoit for next Bachelor. I’ve never heard those rumors and the next Bachelor doesn’t start filming til next September. They haven’t even picked the next Bachelorette yet, so they certainly aren’t thinking about who the next Bachelor is 10 months from now. That’s not a legit rumor.
6. Have you heard any rumors of when Chris Harrison will propose to Lauren? No.
7. Will Dale propose to Clare on ATFR @nemacolin in December? I have no idea.
8. Were Krystal and Chris ones you were talking about in November 2019 but didn’t want to announce it? No.
9. Have you heard anything re when Jason will propose to Kaitlyn? No.
