-Rachael’s 1-on-1 is up next. Before we move forward, all I’m gonna say regarding this Rachael stuff online is this. Stop sending it to me. Because someone on Tik Tok says something, doesn’t mean it’s true. We already covered this the day after the premiere. That person claimed Rachael and her friends bullied her in high school. Said she had receipts to prove it. There weren’t any. Doesn’t mean Rachael did and it doesn’t mean she didn’t. There’s nothing out there proving 100% either way, so I’d say to stop saying there is. Posting emails from other people saying “yeah, she did this to me too” is not proof of anything. In this day and age, if you’re going to accuse someone of something like that, you
need receipts/evidence it happened. That person provided none. So lets immediately stop with the guilty verdict. Maybe she did and maybe she didn’t. But nothing I’ve seen by a Tik Tok account has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that she absolutely did that. So I’m not immediately convicting someone of something that has been given no proof to. It’s a non-story at this point to me, and it should be to you as well.
-On this date, Matt takes Rachael to see his celebrity friend stylist, Ty Hunter. And by celebrity friend stylist, I’m sure he means someone he just met earlier that day. Although Matt is in the modeling world, so I guess it is possible he knows Ty. I’ll just bet against it since we know how this show works. Rachael gets to go on a shopping spree trying on all sorts of different dresses. We’ve seen this “Pretty Woman” date numerous times in the past. Jade had one, Becca Kufrin had one, and others. I’m blanking on who else did right now, but I’m sure some of you remember. Pretty much a girls dream to get this date. And knowing now that Matt is with Rachael, probably a reason he chose her for this date. I got a pretty funny email you’ll see tomorrow of someone who knows the Nemacolin grounds explaining how humorous it was for Rachel to “arrive” where Matt was to go shopping. Apparently it was like two seconds away.
-Over dinner the two of them talk about why Rachael has also not been in love yet. She first tells him, “I think you’re out of my league,” then says she really struggles with confidence in herself, and to have a relationship that works, she needs to gain confidence and get rid of her self doubt. Then she just jumps into “I wanna walk out of here with you, and I wanna start my life with you.” Matt replies, “You’re not crazy, cuz I feel the same way.” Then they both say they’re falling in love with each other. Now, every episode up til this point, they’ve always shown Matt and Rachael’s time together. Whether it was at a group date after party or the cocktail party, for four previous episodes, we’ve always seen it. So we know he was into her. But that seemed like a giant leap this episode. I’m sure it’s all about getting caught up in the moment, and saying what you think the other person wants to here, but c’mon. It’s your first date together. Lets stop with the hyperbole.
-The group date was 13 of them doing farm stuff. We pretty much saw this exact same group date on Nick’s season when they went to Wisconsin. Outside in the cold, and the women had to milk animals and what not. All this group date did was set up MJ as the new “villain” of the season. She basically opted out of doing anything with the animals, which in turn, got her attention from Matt. Then other women, like Michelle, were having a really hard time seeing Matt connect with other women. Again, a storyline that happens every single season, whether it’s “Bachelor” or “Bachelorette.” This is nothing new. So much so, that this isn’t even a major storyline anymore. Just know going into every season, there will be contestants who, at some point, start getting emotional and/or upset at the lead for giving time to other women.
-Abigail started getting in her own head as well on this date so it was time for her to open up to Matt. She tells him that whoever she starts a family with, there’s a strong possibility their kids would be deaf, and her birth dad walked out on her and her sister once they got their cochlear implants, so she’s scared someone else might as well. Matt says he can relate to not having a dad growing up, which in turn, sets up his dad’s appearance for later on this season, as I reported last week. This was a good and tough conversation to have, and certainly Abigail probably struggled with bringing that up. Because lets face it, not every guy would be 100% ok with that. Something that, if she were to ever be “Bachelorette,” unfortunately I think would rise to the forefront and you’d have some douchenozzles who’d be cast that might not be down with that. I applaud Abigail for bringing that up since it’s something that the show has never had to deal with before.
-The other portion of this group date they made sure to focus on was MJ. Some were calling her the antagonist, making them feel like outsiders, so they told Matt and he confronted her. MJ vs Jessenia became a thing because MJ called the group the “varsity vs the JV.” MJ claims she never said it. So I went back and rewatched and here’s what we were shown. Early on in the episode we hear MJ say “varsity team” during an ITM. So clearly the rest of the group didn’t hear that. But then after her convo with Matt, we see Jessenia confront her and say she was the one that told Matt MJ made a “Varsity vs the JV” comment, to which MJ responds she was just joking. So apparently she definitely said it at some point where the rest of the group heard it. Now it just comes down to the intent behind it. But according to MJ, “I’m here to make peace and harmony,” which is basically the exact opposite of what she did.
-I know you’re going to ask who gets sent home between Jessenia and MJ next week. Sorry, don’t have that answer. The funny thing is, because Matt is never shown footage of stuff that he doesn’t see between the women, it’s impossible to know how exactly he’s going to make his decision. Jessenia will say that MJ called the group the “varsity vs the JV.” MJ will deny she said it. And Matt will just have to believe one over the other. Clearly as an audience, people know MJ is lying and assume she goes home, or should. But just remember Matt at that time, doesn’t see any of the footage. So he doesn’t have a clue who’s telling the truth. I wouldn’t be surprised if MJ stays based on that. Which would be a horrible look by the way considering how badly MJ gaslighted Jessenia into thinking she didn’t say it when she did. Oh yeah, and Abigail got the group date rose, so at least there was something good that came out of that date.
-I’d really love to talk about Kit’s 1-on-1 date and break it down for you, but when the show cares so little about someone’s 1-on-1, why should I? I mean, did you SEE that thing? In case you weren’t paying attention at home, that was easily the shortest 1-on-1 we’ve ever seen, and it’s not even close. @Bachelordata takes stopwatches to these things. Look how much time they gave Kit’s 1-on-1 date: 4 minutes. 4 minutes! That’s unheard of. Usually it’s a full segment of 12-15 minutes. Sometimes a 1-on-1, in fact MOST times, a 1-on-1 will have a commercial break involved and then it resumes. Nope. Not for Kit. Kind of embarrassing. I wouldn’t buy much Kit stock if I were you. Here’s the segment breakdown from last night. Yikes.
-The cocktail party was set to begin, but Matt sends in a note saying he wants to meet Jessenia and MJ beforehand because he needs to get to the truth. Again, not sure if he’ll ever know the actual truth unless he’s allowed to watch the footage of what MJ said. Which they won’t show him, so, his decision on who to eliminate will frankly be based on who he likes more and, well, who the producers nudge him to keep around. I wouldn’t be so fast to dismiss MJ even though we all know she’s guilty. And also, MJ dropped the Big Hair, Big Hoops, Big Energy line heading into that night, so she’s ready to go to war. Wonderful. Next episode we’re going to immediately start out with two women pitted against each other – again. Fun times I tell ya’.
