Hey everyone. Sorry there was no column or “Reader Emails” yesterday. There were 2 reasons for that. 1) I didn’t have any new news on anything in Bachelor Nation and 2) I had very few “Reader Emails.” Like less than 8 and two of them were repeaters. So I figured I’d just throw them in today’s column along with some things that have come up in the past 24 hours and my thoughts on the Overnight Date episode. As is standard in past seasons, there just isn’t a ton to cover once you get down to the final 3. There’s zero drama, every date basically each person tells the lead what they want to hear, one gets eliminated and that’s it. One thing that I’ve really found interesting is how much the show has leaned into the spoilers in recent seasons. Showing Brandon on horseback with Michelle (and kissing on the beach which is in next week’s finale) during the promo for the season that aired way back before episode 1, they basically gave it away that Brandon was at least final 3. And that kissing scene on the beach, for me, confirmed he was final 2 because I had those pics of him in that same bathing suit 2 days before the final rose ceremony took place. The show NEVER used to put clips from the end of the season in their season promos. Now, will they ever just give away who the lead chooses in the first promo? No. But you look close enough, they really do give away a lot. This season was yet another example.
With next week being Christmas week, I really don’t see the “Bachelor” waiting til then to release the 30 women on Clayton’s season. So I gotta believe it’s coming today or tomorrow. You saw my column last week where I gave you the last 4 release dates of the women’s bios for the “Bachelor”:
Arie – released on 12/8
Colton – released on 12/6
Peter – released on 12/16
Matt – released 12/12
So even if they released today, it still would be a day earlier than they released Peter’s. I think you can fully expect it to come today or tomorrow, since Friday doesn’t seem ideal either and it’s certainly not coming on the weekend. However, just as a reminder, if you want to see the 30 women and their IG accounts, they are all on my Instagram in my feed and Highlights. They’ve been there since the day the women were released on the “Bachelor” Facebook page on Saturday, Sept. 25th, 4 days before filming began.
The big news to come out of yesterday, well, I don’t know if it should be considered big, so maybe lets just call it newsworthy, is the fact that Dale is in a movie. The trailer dropped for it yesterday:
I mean, this seemingly is on brand with what most people think about him. He went on the show to be famous, to increase his brand, get exposure, etc. The only thing I know is that this was filmed within the last 6 months. This isn’t some major motion picture or will have some world wide release. This is what it is. A low budget rom-com that’ll be released online next year. Look, we know pretty much everyone on this show is looking for perks afterwards. Some want to make it in Hollywood. Some want to be TV hosts. Some want to make it on TikTok. Some want to grow their Instagram game. And if you don’t think that’s what the show is now, you need to pull your head out of the sand. And hey, some people have done extremely well post show, better than they ever would have staying in whatever dead end job they had pre-show. We’ve seen it. It can happen. Some have started make-up lines, wine collections, clothing lines, etc. And some will make an online movie that 17 people will probably watch. Not everyone is a success story from this franchise. The problem is, they ALL think they will be and that’s just unrealistic.
With next week being the finale, one thing different from Tayshia’s finale last year at this time to Michelle’s, is they’re actually giving Michelle a live ATFR. So like the pre-pandemic days, during the first 2 hours where we watch Brandon and Nayte meet her parents and then go on their final dates with Michelle, coming in and out of break, we’ll get the occasional shot of the live studio audience with Kaitlyn and Tayshia hosting, talking to the crowd, etc. Then once the engagement from Mexico airs, we’ll get a 1 hour ATFR where we hear from everyone involved and see Nayte and Michelle together as an engaged couple for the first time. Some people will probably ask “Why did Tayshia not get a live ATFR but Michelle did.” I think the simple answer is last December we had barely rolled out the vaccine. Coupled with it being days before Christmas they just didn’t deem it safe. Everyone in attendance next Tuesday will either be vaccinated or have a negative test 24-48 hrs prior to attending, so naturally, it’s much easier to hold a taping like this now versus where we were at this time last year.
Some “Reader Emails” on page 2…

Surprised about Dale being in a movie….I know other people have but normally as themselves where the TV show has been incorporated into the movie script. Based on just what I saw, he wasn’t terrible, maybe he will become a staple in Hallmark movies. It’s a living for many has been and never been actors.
My prediction for Michelle is that she breaks up with Nayte when she realizes he is a player and reconnects with Joe since he is local. As long as Joe doesn’t move on before then. Hopefully, I am wrong for her sake, but the relationship she had with Joe, building slowly like a normal relationship and not depending on an instant sexual attraction, would maybe have more promise in the long run.

I think Kaitlyn Bristowe has made a business out of this show better than anyone.
She has a podcast, a wine brand and some overpriced hair bows. I find her very likable but for the love of God, can’t figure out what is appealing about her stage show. That leaves me perplexed.
Also agree with above comment about Nayte and Michelle not lasting long. I sure hope Michelle sticks with teaching and doesn’t try to become an influencer. That route is so predictable and cliché.

All along, Michelle seemed pretty savvy and could quickly discern between when someone was being sincere and they were spewing BS. Last night she practically had to drag the response she was looking for from Nayte. Typically the other person speaks first, telling the lead how they’re falling in love with them, etc, etc. But with Nayte, Michelle jumped right in. He looked uncomfortable to me and when he finally declared his feelings, he expressed it half laughing. Despite what some expressed in the reader emails,I really liked Brandon and thought he was very sweet and sincere. But I don’t think he’s “manly” enough for Michelle. Unfortunately I think she was just plain attracted to Nayte the most. It’s a shame if it doesn’t work out, but I really don’t see it lasting.

Some of the most intelligent women can be foolish when it comes to men, and I am commenting from personal experience. I think Michelle alluded to making bad choices in the past either to Kaitlyn and Tayshia, or in an in the moment interview. She’s smart enough to not fall for run of the mill BS, but she’s overriding her instincts because she is so attracted to Nayte. I gave up when I figured I was never going to learn… hopefully she will figure it out.

@Marie101? That reminds me so much of Andi Dorfman. Brilliant woman, bad taste in guys. She goes for the “alpha male” jock type–someone who can’t handle having a smart woman. I hope she and Michelle both learn to love someone good for them. 🙂
