One of my favorite podcast guests, Dave Neal, joins me today to talk about pretty much every recent story happening in Bachelor Nation. Always great to have Dave on because of his insight, and the fact that with a lot of things in this franchise being looked at as so black and white by its fanbase, it’s nice to have a more nuanced discussion about the hot topics within the franchise. Also in the open before Dave comes on, I update you on what’s happening today with Zach’s 1-on-1 including where it’s taking place. If you don’t feel like listening, scroll down this column and you’ll see some notes regarding the Bachelor filming which started on Monday night at the mansion. Those wondering why this is up a little later today, it’s because the Daily Roundup went up so much later than normal today. I have it set to upload to Apple Podcasts at the same time every morning, which is 6:40 CST. Since I know it takes usually 20 minutes before it shows in your feed, I like to have it in there by 7:00am CST. Well, as of this writing, it hadn’t been showing up in my feed by 8:20am CST. Not sure why Apple Podcasts is taking forever today. Anyway, that’s why everything is delayed. A few notes regarding “Bachelor” filming that started Monday night at the mansion:
-Social media activity is NEVER a 100% indicator of who’s been eliminated or who’s still there. I say it every season, yet, every season people seem to think they’ve figured something out because of IG activity. Not the case.
-Yesterday was the first date of the season – a group date. Not sure what happened yet but I do know the night portion was at Big Daddy’s Antiques on La Cienaga in LA. They’ve filmed a ton of group date after parties there in the past. They’ll also be there Friday night for the group date after party.
-Today’s 1-on-1 is at Anaheim Hills golf course, then the night portion is at Orange County Mining Company, a restaurant that, ironically enough, is where my mom had her wedding reception when she got remarried in 2010. I’m sure at some point today either pics/videos will get out at the golf course which I’ll relay. If not, I’m sure I’ll know by tonight who is on today’s 1-on-1 with Zach.
