Hi,

Love the stuff you do!!!

I know this is not Bachelor related but I just wanted your thoughts on it. I don’t know if you watch movies because of everything else you do but I was if you are going to watch the movie Till. It is not in the theaters but I heard it is going to be one of the most powerful movies. If you watch it what are your thoughts? Again love all you do!!

Comment: I absolutely will watch it. So should most people.

As a long-time fan of yours, Steve, I’ve got to tell you how much I’m enjoying your Daily Roundups. Great stuff, perhaps the best you’ve done. To me, it’s the most important element of your universe. Congratulations!

Did you know that you can’t “pause” the dailies? It defaults to a restart of the whole podcast. Bizarre, IMO.

Comment: Really? I’ve listened to the Daily Roundup on both Apple Podcasts and Spotify, and even on the player within the column, and I’m able to pause it and start it again on every player.

I don’t know if your DVR recorded it but there was a one-hour Challenge casting special last Monday. The weak reasons they gave for pairing Aneesa and Jordan was that he is her best friend’s ex and she had helped him in some of his early seasons. They also revealed that the third surprise vet team is Darrell and Veronica.

Comment: Yeah, totally forgot about Darrell and Veronica joining as well. I didn’t watch the casting special. Deleted it actually once the show started I felt I didn’t need to watch who was cast. And yes, really weak reason considering while Jordan is Tori’s ex, Aneesa also did, or still does, a podcast with Tori. Not to mention what I said earlier this week on the pod about the fact that Jordan wasn’t even her initial partner. She came there with someone else, but only COVID is what caused her to be partnered with Jordan.

Hey Steve,

I love listening to your podcast daily and absolutely loved hearing you sing Rocky Top, but more on that in a bit.

I heard you mention you are getting a lot of emails asking about where and who are left on the upcoming bachelor season. Are the people emailing family members or are just normal fans that invested? Don’t get me wrong I enjoy watching the show, I just can’t imagine being so invested in needing to know their every move! Haha! Normal fans. Well, lets call them rabid fans. Family clearly knows whether their child is home or not. There is a faction of fans that, yes, follow along daily and need to know what’s happening every day. It’s a very, very small faction that’s why unless it’s out there publicly with pictures and/or videos, there’s not much of an urgency to put it all out there right now. In a couple weeks, you’ll have it all. It’s still the same info.

Ok, now to good stuff! That game on Saturday gave me three heart attacks and two strokes! Shew, when I tell you there was a rollercoaster of emotions, I mean I was all over the place! I yelled timeout at my tv so loud that last second that it terrified my daughter, and quite possibly my neighbors!! Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for bringing it up in the podcast! I enjoyed it!!

Thanks for your column and podcasts! I thoroughly enjoy them!

Comment: It was the game of the season by far. Definitely a lot of ups and downs. I’m sure there were times during that game where you thought you’d blow them out, and there were times where you thought “Here we go again” and the 15 game losing streak would continue. And while not much defense was played whatsoever, the atmosphere was crazy, the ending was bonkers, and anytime a powerhouse loses, it’s always good for college football. People complain all the time about how it’s the same teams basically in the college football playoff every season (which it basically has been as Bama, Ohio St, and Clemson have dominated since the format started), you then should be excited when one of them gets taken down).

Hi Steve,

You’re a Dodgers fan, and I’m a Braves fan. This email isn’t nearly as fun now that our teams have both been eliminated from the playoffs, but I wanted your thoughts on a couple players both our teams have had in common:

Freddie Freeman: He had a great season, and I assume you’re happy to have him in the LA lineup. I had mixed feelings when he left Atlanta because he was such a signature Brave, but I am happy for the success he’s had. And I think the Braves are fine with Matt Olson (just sucks they played a poor series and ran into a hot Phillies team). Yeah, I’m sure it’s tough watching a home grown player leave. Not to mention, one of the five to ten best players in all of baseball. But Olson is really good too. Wouldn’t call it wash, but it’s not like you got completely downgraded by signing Olson. I love Freddie. I always loved him when he was a Brave. Never really thought he’d end up with the Dodgers but glad that he did.

Kenley Jansen: There was a time when he was scary good, but to me, those days are gone. He went through a slump this season where his cutter was not successful, and he blew a lot of saves. I almost dreaded seeing him come in to close some nights this summer. Did you love him as the Dodgers closer, or did you feel he was hit-or-miss?

The Padres and Phillies are both getting hot at the right time, so we will see.

Comment: Same feeling with him as Dodgers closer. He was too much of a roller coaster ride every time he took the mound in his later years. I don’t know how much he has left, although, he did have a great season for you guys and put up roughly the same numbers as he always does. He’s not dominant anymore, and has more bad outings than in earlier in his career, but if you put him in 50-55 save chances, he’s still gonna save most of them.

Hey Steve,

I have been listening for a while, but this is my first time writing. Recently, I went back and listened to your first podcast ever. It was cool to hear about your background in sports radio.

As a daily listener to your podcast, I am glad you have an outlet to talk about sports again.

Had a question that I was curious about your opinion on. Why did they move the Bachelorette to Tuesday’s when football started, but now it can be on Monday’s again for Paradise. Is this because the beginning of football season has more viewers? Just curious, hope that makes sense.

I also just really like your decorum, and the way you deal with with your haters and blatant misogynists and racists.

Hope to write again more often!

Comment: I think it might have to do with the fact that they consider the main show their baby and don’t want that competition for it. BIP has always been a fun, summer show. So maybe they don’t care as much, especially when they have another episode on the next night.

No questions, but I had a conspiracy theory regarding Michael and Danielle, and it’s apparently the same thoughts you shared in this morning’s roundup. Knowing the close relationship of Danielle and Wells, he was aware of her wanting to meet Michael and vice versa. I’m sure Wells told him to be patient since he knew when she was coming.

It was obvious they have messaged enough to be quite friendly with one another, based on Michael calling her by the nickname Dani and grabbing her hand and kissing it. She said “well okay” and I thought to myself, maybe she was surprised that Michael was giving so much away. Michael clearly knew Danielle was coming on this season. You can’t convince me otherwise. Did they plan this all out beforehand like Brendon and Pieper and were clearly seeing each other pre-show? No. That’s the difference between the two. But Michael knew from the second he stepped on the beach that Danielle was coming at some point, and that was always in the back of his head. So you also can’t convince me that didn’t play a major role in him not getting close with Sierra. Yes, it’s very easy to say he couldn’t see it long term with her, but, that’s probably because he was always more interested in Danielle.

I have not enjoyed Genevieve or Jill’s over the top drama what so ever!
Instead give us some time with the couples connecting (the ones who get engaged). I guess there is a reason why people call this mindless TV, but I’m still watching anyway.

I will wait patiently to hear Zach’s spoilers. Thanks

Comment: I would say you’ve only got a couple more weeks to wait. And thank you for waiting patiently. I wish everyone could show your patience.
