The Bachelor Zach – Episode #2 Recap, Fans Question Zach, Sports Fans Losing It, & Your Daily Roundup

-Zach picks Christina up at the mansion for their 1-on-1 date, and drives her to a helicopter that they’re taking over LA and Orange County. One scene they’re in the helicopter, the next scene their at the doorstep of his parents house ready to go in so she can meet family on his mom’s birthday. Very similar to Madi meeting Peter’s parents on her first 1-on-1, except it was their wedding anniversary, something I’m sure they’ll always remember with a touch of love as Madi, a woman that Barb literally scorned and embarrassed on national television, is in plenty of the anniversary pics from that day. Does Barb draw a mustache and tail in a black sharpie on Madi in those pics? Has she burned them in the backyard fire pit? Knowing what we know now, it’s easily the most unanswerable question in the history of this show. And that is why did Peter Weber literally come back to Madi, after meeting with Kelley during Super Bowl weekend, having sex with Hannah Brown, and rumored to be with others, then declare his love for Madi on live TV during the ATFR against the well wishes of his parents, only to break it off two days later in an IG post and then be with Kelley two weeks later in Chicago when the pandemic started? If Peter would ever like to take accountability for that and actually be honest about what happened, we’re all ears.

-The other bizarre part of Christina’s date was the night portion, which was filmed at the Orange County Mining Company. I grew up in Orange County, and I’ve lost track of how many times I used to go to the Mining Company for Sunday brunch. My brother-in-law worked at the Mining Company for years, and my mom got remarried there in 2010. Ceremony was where Zach and Christina had dinner last night. The reception was upstairs. So yeah, kinda funny seeing that restaurant being used last night as some overly romantic place for Christina to open about her daughter to Zach. Zach seemed to take it quite emotionally, but in a good way. Too bad that lasts one more episode as we see in the previews, next week, Christina becomes public enemy #1.

-The second group date of the night I had mentioned in yesterday’s Daily Roundup and on social media, that they’d cut the puppet performances by the women hosted by Puddy. They showed absolutely none of it. It was just the women showing up for the night portion of the date. And this portion of the date seemingly was just shown to let us see how many women Zach can make out with. We literally see him make out with Ariel, Greer, Kaity, Charity, Jess, and Genevie. Gabi was the one that was in her own head. She said she didn’t get to talk to him much on night one, and she’d seen everybody had a good time with him and when she got her turn, she felt she blew it by having diarrhea of the mouth. Just overtalked and felt she made it too much about her. We don’t see him kiss her, and the fact she was crying after the fact makes me think that she might’ve been the only one he didn’t kiss.

-Ariel pulled the move of the night with him. When she pulled him aside first, she said she wanted them to both write down their fears. She said her fear was getting heartbroken. Zach’s was to fall for someone that wasn’t there to be his best friend. Then Ariel threw in another “fear” – “not being kissed tonight.” Ooooohhhh good one. Very tricky, manipulative and smart. I mean, Zach can’t possibly turn that down now, can he? Because if he does, that basically shows Ariel where she stands with him. But maybe more women need to basically bribe Zach for kisses in the future. Like tell him you’re going to tell all the other women he has a micro peen if he doesn’t kiss them. Not that he really needed to be bribed to kiss Ariel. I mean, have you looked at her? If he didn’t kiss her, I think we might’ve been questioning Zach’s mental capacity. Now, does she feel special because she was #1 in a line of 6 straight women he made out with? Or is it not even that big of deal because he did it with basically everyone else? I guess it’s to be expected.

-Gabi didn’t have a great after party in her mind, so she wanted to make up for it at the cocktail party before the rose ceremony. So like I mentioned above, women need to start using more manipulative tactics to get that kiss. Gabi’s? The ol’ peanut butter cup trick. I mean, who can resist a peanut butter cup? Apparently not Zach as they shared one Lady and the Tramp style. Because we all know, the best first kiss you can have with a guy is when you have chocolate and peanut butter stuck between your teeth. Who can go wrong with that? Nobody I tell you.

-He went outside and lasso’d with Brooklyn, because she’s a barrel racer and all. So that’s her expertise. Zach sucks at it right now, but hey, that’s ok. Good effort. The story of the cocktail party was Brianna re-living night one where Christina jokingly said to her, “I hate you, just kidding” over the fact she got America’s first impression rose. Seems like Brianna is in her own head on this one, however, if that’s how she felt, kinda ridiculous for us on the outside to tell her she’s wrong. The good thing is she didn’t talk shit about Christina behind her back. She sat her down and told her woman to woman how that made her feel, Christina said she didn’t remember saying it (which she did since they played the clip for us), but that she never meant to make her feel that way and apologized. While it seems like it was squashed there, knowing what happens next week and Christina rubbing a lot of the women the wrong way, I guess that really wasn’t the end of it. Lets see how it plays out next week before rushing to judgment. But I already saw people on Twitter last night immediately getting mad at Brianna saying Christina was joking. And while it did sound that way from Christina’s end, we’re not Brianna. So I’m not here to tell her how she’s supposed to feel. I think it wasn’t so much the words of “I hate you, just kidding” but meaning behind it about already being “disliked” so to speak because she got America’s rose. So I see both sides of it. But does Toxic Bachelor Nation? Of course not.

Rose ceremony time. Katherine, Christina, and Jess have roses and are safe. Zach: “This week was a whirlwind…little overwhelming…trying to find love in all this that’s all I can ask for…can someone tell Latto I’ll be at the studio later to lay down some sick beats with her? Thanks.”

Brooklyn, Genevie, Greer, Aly, Charity, Kaity, Gabi, Ariel, Anastasia, Kylee, Davia, Mercedes, and Bailey with roses. “Ladies, Zach, it’s the final rose tonight. When you’re ready. Go back to ESPN Jesse will be right over here wondering why I’m missing College GameDay Scoreboard studio work so I can stand here counting roses. Maybe I should get my ass back to ESPN like Sonia said.”

Brianna with the final rose of the night. And knowing her exit next week is coming, this really seemed like a conscious effort on productions part for whatever reason to make Brianna spiral and get in her own head. I felt like we were missing A LOT of what happened to make Brianna get to the point she was at last night. Very weird editing to say the least.
