Daily Roundup 6/3 – Bachelorette Jenn’s Guys Headshots & Bios Coming Today, Scheana Shay Speaks Out, & Audio From The Greatest Game Show Moment Ever

All right.

Let’s talk a little vanderpump rules Because Sheena on her podcast this past Friday alluded to something that I’ve been Think a lot of people find interesting. We know happens in reality TV, but for this particular situation, you wonder if it was true or if this was just once again, producer manipulation.

And what she said on the podcast was that executive producer or showrunner, Alex Baskin, was a. Said during mid season, the show was not in a good place. It was, you know, X, Y, Z needs to happen, or we’re going to have a short season and the show’s going to be canceled. That’s it. Go live your lives. That’s what Sheena said when she had a talk with Alex mid season.

And then she went on the podcast to say, I think Lala and I felt a lot of pressure after that day when it was like, well, we don’t want the show to get canceled, you know, just for ourselves and our families, but. Like there’s a crew of, I don’t know, 80, a hundred people who work on the show. And I said this at the reunion, which you didn’t see, but I was like, I feel like we’re doing our jobs.

Also for all of these people, like we want to keep this going. So remember last week, Alex Baskin had done an interview with the Hollywood reporter after the final reunion episode aired reunion part three. And he went over some of his answers. Obviously he never brought this up. He never said, yeah, I spoke to Lala and Sheena mid season and said, if we don’t get what we need to get out of Ariana this season, we’re losing episodes and this season’s going to be cut short.

And I’m like, So, Sheena relayed that on her podcast on Friday. Now, I don’t doubt for a second that Sheena is lying, and I don’t doubt for a second that the main showrunner for Vanderpump Rules told her this. The question now becomes, was he telling her the truth? Because just in dealing with the bachelor and bachelorette world, the amount of contestants that have come to me over the years, who have told me a producer told me this was going to happen unless I did this, or if I don’t do this, then there’s going to be ramifications to it.

So was this another situation of just a producer lying to a contestant to get the end result that he wanted, which was. Everyone else kind of sucking up to Tom, maybe not sucking up. Maybe that’s not the correct phrase where Sheena and Lala started being a little more open to having discussions. With Sandoval because the whole season would have been totally weird if everybody in the fucking cast just avoided him So when you film Tom, who would he be hanging out with who would he be talking to nobody?

Nobody wanted to talk to him. Then all of a sudden we started seeing Lala and Sheena come around Apparently it was because of this talk with Alex Baskin now was Baskin telling the truth Were they really going to cut the season short and basically cancel the whole thing? I don’t even know if that’s possible It seems like these two shows You Have a certain amount of episodes that they know they are getting per season.

He might have just told him that because he didn’t like the way the season was going in the first half. Which a lot of fans didn’t like so now Does alex baskin even address this? Because this is something that I would think is against her contract and or breaking the fourth wall saying like yeah The reason we did this on the show is because we were told to and we were told to and that if we didn’t Things were gonna happen.

We’re gonna have a shorter season and the show’s gonna get canceled. So that’s why we did certain things I know some people don’t like Sheena and Lala right now for the way They handled Ariana personally for me. I can see both sides of it. I totally see Ariana side, but I also see Sheena and Lala side, you know, and my reason and my end result to all of it is Ariana did not have to do anything that she didn’t want to do on this show.

However, nobody wants to watch a season 12. If Ariana is going to refuse to film with Sandoval, which she shouldn’t have to, so leave the show, but don’t ruin it for everybody else. This is their jobs. She doesn’t need it. I’ve said that a hundred times. Oriana doesn’t need this show anymore. She’s outgrown it.

She’s much more popular than everybody in the pop culture world. Hosting love Island got a gig on Broadway. She does not need to come back to Vanderpump rules. But Alex Baskin said in the interview with Hollywood reporter last week, yeah, I could do. Another season of 12. I think there’s still stories to be told here, but we can’t have, we can’t run back what we just saw in season 11.

No, thanks. I don’t think anybody wants to watch that. So did he probably exaggerate the truth to Sheena and Lala to get what he wanted? Probably if I had to guess, but I don’t know if he’s ever going to admit that he did. And I don’t know if we’re ever truly going to get the answer to, yeah, that’s exactly what his plan was.

And it worked apparently, I don’t think, I mean, these people all do podcasts, these people all go on other podcasts. These people have no filter when it comes to social media while the show is airing. So if a Bachelor or bachelorette contestant said something like this and went on a podcast and said, oh yeah, I did that because the producer told me to and told me to say that, or told me to do that, or else I wasn’t getting a rose, they would absolutely be fine.

It’s different for Vanderpump Rules. I don’t think producers care because this is clearly, this would be a violation of contract of Epic proportions. In the bachelor and bachelorette world, but we see Vanderpump contestants all the time going on podcasts and saying stuff that is revealed behind the scenes that isn’t shown all this stuff.

So I doubt anything happens to Sheena on this, but I don’t doubt her for a second because we know this happens in reality TV. If you hate Sheena, you’re probably saying, Oh, she’s just saying that to justify her actions. No, I don’t think she is. Because we know this happens in reality TV. This is what reality TV is.

Your job as a producer is to get the ultimate response from the person you’re producing. Whether that means lying to them in the bachelor and bachelorette cases with their contestants crying with them. So they’ll cry with you and think that you actually give a shit about their feelings happens all the time.

So I absolutely believe Alex Baskin said this to her, whether or not he was actually telling the truth when he said it to her and they were. Go in and cut the season short and then cancel season 12. That seems like a bit much. And finally, we went over it last week when I played you the, or I told you the clip from wheel of fortune last week, where a guy in the phrase category guessed right in the butt when there was only four letters for the first word.

And he was just wrong. This is the best was the actual answer. But it reminded me. Of the greatest game show moment ever. And there used to be a show on television called, I think it was like 50 greatest game show moments. It was hosted by Bob Eubanks, former host of the newlywed game. And even when they did this show back in the, this was, this must’ve been in the nineties.

They said this was voted on as the number one moment in game show history. And at the time that he talked about it, he said, It was like an urban legend, like it had been talked about and nobody knew if it actually really happened and then they brought out the footage. So I’m wondering, you know, this aired in the seventies, it might have even, I don’t know when the newly wood game aired, but this certainly wasn’t the eighties, just looking at the, the clothing and the hairstyles by the men and women on this show, but it was from the newly wood game must’ve been from the seventies.

And. The answer that they gave, I’m wondering if it ever did air or when it aired, did they bleep it out because I don’t know, but when they replayed the clip, I can’t even remember as the number one clip, the number one moment in game show history. I can’t even remember if they bleeped it out when they replayed the clip, but here is the clip, the question that they asked the husband, what did he think his wife would say when they asked him.

When they asked her this question, he obviously had to give an answer and then she gave an answer of what she thought the answer would be. And here it is uncensored. The greatest game show moment in history

specifically is the weirdest place that you personally girls have ever gotten the urge to make Whoopi the weirdest place.

Olga? Yes, Olga? Indiana?

No, the weirdest location.

So there you go. She did say it. And you know, the guy, this is maybe this was late sixties. I don’t even know, but he’s in like the butterfly brown suit with a butterfly collar shirt and her hair is about as big as a beehive, but Olga props to you. I hope you’re still alive to this day.

Thank you for giving that answer when asked, what is the strangest place? I already forgot the question cause he phrased it so weird, but the strangest place you’ve ever had the urge to make whoopee, was that it weirdest or strangest, one of those words, but you heard the answer. He was looking for a location, Olga, not an orifice.
