A couple of other things to go over in regards to Sheena and Lala. Now it talked yesterday about how Sheena on our podcast on Friday had mentioned that, Hey, Alex Baskin, the show runner came to us mid season and said, Hey, if we don’t get you guys talking to Sandoval, our show is going to cut short the episodes and there’s not going to be a season 12.
So they felt trapped and seemed like that was a violation of their contract to say something like that. But the thing that came out about Sheena also on Friday’s podcast that I forgot to talk about was. She talked about the fact that Paige Woollan, the woman that Jax was seen with two weekends ago, how it came to be that they were even hanging out.
And Sheena said apparently Paige’s dad won a round of golf at some charity event to play a round of golf with Jax. And then he was like, oh, you should meet my daughter. Sheena went on to say that she actually had Paige on her podcast years ago. And Paige reminded her at a football game last year at SoFi Stadium, she ran into her and she said, I was on your podcast.
And Sheena was like, I mean, I’ve been doing this for six and a half years now, but I think I would remember. And I’m like racking my brain. And then she said, Paige. And I’m like, yeah, I’m like, oh my gosh, the dudes in the DMs girl. So then when I heard that the dad introduced her to Jax, I was like, okay. She basically said that.
If he knew enough about Jax to bid on a golf game with him, he probably knew he was married or recently separated. So it was really weird that his dad would win a round of golf with Jax and say, oh, you should meet my daughter. It is kind of weird, for sure. But, by the way, again, I’ll give props where props are due.
Paige Woolin’s dudes in the DMs Instagram page is pretty funny. Because it doesn’t surprise me at all that guys are writing her this in her DMs. And two, her responses are pretty clever. So check it out. If you haven’t seen that, the other one I want to talk about is Lala, because Lala had her podcast yesterday and she kind of backed up what Sheena said.
She was answering fan questions, including one about whether she actually had a storyline during season 11. And she said this season was extremely difficult. None of us were really able to have a storyline. We had to talk about Scandaval. It wasn’t even a divide in the group. This had demolished the group.
And then she said every cast member suffered from talking about Scandaval. She said, I don’t even know how to answer that question because so many times there were a lot of us who tried to push past talking about this and we simply couldn’t. We couldn’t. So this kind of goes on, Oh wait, what did she say here?
Well, she basically went on. In those answers and backed up what Sheena said in her podcast on Friday, which was look is what it is. They came to us and told us we’re not gonna have a season 12. We’re cutting the season short. If you guys don’t. At least give Tom a chance. Give Sandoval a chance. Now, will Alex Baskin, the showrunner, come out and say, Yeah, that’s what I told them to do?
Probably not. But, knowing the way reality TV works, said it yesterday, I know people want to shit all over Sheena and Lala for this season, but it’s absolutely believable to me that he, maybe he didn’t like the way the season was going, and he threatened him with that, but I think he over exaggerated it.
So he could get the responses that he wanted and he can get the footage that he wanted. It’s not farfetched to think whatsoever. This is what your job is as a reality TV producer. It’s not to have a Kumbaya moment with all your characters. It’s not for everybody to get along. It’s to produce the best possible entertaining television show you can so that people will continue to watch it.
And frankly, everybody on the cast getting along is not good television. Everybody on the cast yelling at each other and fighting and throwing each other under the bus. That’s what sells. You don’t watch the real housewives in hopes that all six, seven, eight of them get along and every time that there’s a function that they go to, or anytime they have a group dinner, all they do is compliment each other.
No, you want to know who’s talking shit about who and why. That’s why you watch it. So it’s absolutely believable to me that Alex Baskin went to Sheena and Lala and maybe others and said, look, we have to talk about Scandaval or else we’re losing a season. That part could have been exaggerated, but he got the end result because that’s what season 11 turned into.
You all watched it. It was Scandaval for three months, four months, however long the season lasted. And finally, I mentioned it yesterday. I can’t even remember if I mentioned it on this podcast yesterday or my sports daily, but with me going to my party in Vegas Friday night, no spots left, unfortunately, but I’m going on Thursday, so I didn’t want to record a podcast on Thursday from my hotel room.
Cause it kind of puts a crimp into my night, you know, have to come back to my room for about an hour, record two podcasts, upload them, all that stuff. So both my podcasts that you’re going to hear on Friday are prerecorded. Meaning pre recorded before I left for Vegas, I already recorded my sports daily for any big time sports fans out there who have followed my career and followed my Jim Rome career.
You’ll love the fact that I have the Kaplan Asian, Sean Pendergast on the podcast on Friday. That’s recorded, be uploaded at the same time. Should be in your feed by eight 45 Eastern time. And then. The daily roundup will be in your feed by, you know, six, four, seven 45 Eastern time on Friday. And that’s going to be a conversation with Courtney Robertson.
We’re not going to talk too much about bachelor and bachelorette, maybe a little bit about the guys releases and the cast bios and stuff like that. Since we’re going to record today or tomorrow, Courtney and I, but we’re just gonna have fun. I’m going to talk about mommy hood. We’re going to talk about play.
Maybe, you know what, maybe I’ll play the the rapid 10 with her. I know we haven’t played it since the very beginning. When I had her on now, she comes on all the time. Maybe I’ll think of some new questions. Maybe just do a rapid five, but we’re just gonna have a little fun with Courtney since it’ll be Friday’s podcast.
She’s going to be at the party. And I’ve told you all about the raffle for those that don’t know. I do a raffle every year. This year we have about 15 or 16 prizes already. Out of a hundred people showing up, so you got a good chance to win. You got like a one in seven chance of going home with something.
And I think Courtney said she’s bringing three or four signed books. You know, she did write a book a while ago and she’s going to sign it and those are going to be a three or four of the prizes. And if you haven’t read her book, I think I now grant, I haven’t read all the bachelor nation related books.
In fact, I’ve probably only read two of them. I read Amy Kaufman’s from the LA times and I’ve read Courtney’s. Of those two, I mean, I, I thought Courtney’s was a great book if you’re, if you love the Badger for the tea and all that stuff, I thought Courtney’s book was really, really good. So we’re giving away three or four signed copies of those.
We’ve got gift cards to restaurants at the Venetian. We’ve got cash giveaways and we’ve got reality Steve merchandise giveaways as well. So I think 15 or 16 prizes, a hundred people. That’s, that’s one in seven chance. Come to a party, win a prize. How about that? Anyway, thank you all for listening. I really appreciate it.
Follow me on Apple podcasts. Also rate and review the sports daily. We’ll be up in an hour from now. Check that out. But please, like I said, rate and review and follow me. But the biggest thing you could do is hit play because it does not count anymore as a download, unless you hit play on my podcast, today’s yesterday’s last weeks, just go hit play on That’d be great.
I really appreciate it. Thank you all for listening and I will talk to you tomorrow.
