Daily Roundup 11/12 – Golden Bachelor Finale Tonight, DWTS 20th Anniversary Special, Tom Bergeron’s Suggestion, Who Was Missing, & Another Back to the Future Email

You are listening to the Daily Roundup here as part of the Reality. Steve Podcast, I’m your host reality. Steve, thank you all for tuning in on this Wednesday. A good show for you today. We are gonna talk about the Golden Bachelor finale. Tonight we’re gonna talk about Dancing with the Stars 20th year celebration that happened last night.

We’re going to discuss a little bit about the Laura Owens case and the interview I did with Rachel Juarez last week. And Jinger’s response the next day. And then I’m also going to read you another email that I received about my back to the future coverage, which again, couldn’t make me any more happy.

So let’s get started tonight. Golden Bachelor finale two hour show. Now if you follow any of Jones Men and even Joan. On Instagram, you know that all of them, a lot of them were in LA this week, which means that they were all showing up for the, after the final rose, which taped yesterday. I don’t know why they couldn’t wait a day and tape it live like they do normally on after the final Rose shows.

But the after the funnel Rose was taped yesterday, and it’s going to air. Tonight. So you’re basically gonna get, what, one hour of footage? Maybe a little bit more than an hour, and then they’re gonna go straight into the after the final rose footage. What’s interesting is are they gonna try and sell it like it’s a live show?

I don’t know. I had heard, it was yesterday, it was told to me that it filmed yesterday. So I’m like, oh, well let’s see if the show tonight tries to play it off. I don’t really think it matters because I mean, you’ll be able to tell. I mean, if they put live on the screen, then the information was wrong, but I don’t think it was either way.

You know the spoiler and knowing the spoiler and seeing the preview for tonight’s episode, they’re making you think that Mel goes over to Pegs Cabana or room to let her go. But there is no footage of Mel with Cindy on any sort of final date, I don’t believe. And you’ve got the whole preview surrounding peg being nervous, and Mel showing up to her room, which I think is pretty obvious that he’s showing up to P’S room.

Excuse me, to tell Peg that he has sent Cindy home because they’re really. Or that tells her something is going on with Cindy. You know, again, I don’t know the details of how we got there and how we get there, but what I posted two weeks ago, Mel, choose is peg. Mel picks peg in this whole thing. So how we get there, I think without obviously knowing for sure, but seeing the preview.

Pretty much solidifies it because the preview wants to make you think that Mel’s going over to P’S place to dump her because she’s all nervous and he sits down and says something’s changed. They know what they’re doing in the previews. They know what they want you to think, and there’s very little footage of Cindy in the previews, so there’s a reason for that.

I don’t even know if they have an overnight date because the episode is gonna pick up where it left off last week, which is Mel and Cindy. Just not really vibing all that well, and he’s about to basically pick up the overnight date card and read it to her, or maybe he already did read it to her. And they were, and the episode ended with them sitting there debating what they were going to do.

I can’t remember because let’s be honest, I’ve kind of been in and out of this whole season. All I cared about was getting you any sort of spoilers for this. It took me a while, and the only spoiler I really had for this season was who the winner is. And when it comes to a season like this, that’s the thing that’s most important, but.

Finally, mercifully comes to an end tonight and we can all just move on with our lives and start focusing on Taylor. Frankie Paul’s season for sure. Dancing With the Stars had their 20th year anniversary show last night, which I thought was really cool because, because

it’s amazing to think that this show has been on 20 years. And believe it or not, I’ve watched every season. I watched that first season. I remember I was in my apartment in Culver City and it was with, at the time, the only girl I’ve ever lived with in my life. My girlfriend at the time. We used to watch it and we were like, wow, this is a really fun show.

So this would’ve been 2004 and. We really looked forward to this show on Monday nights. And then remember, because people were so upset that Kelly Monica won, they wanted to have a rematch during the summer, so John O. Hurley could win and then he was voted to win. It was just weird, but there were only six people on that season, ’cause it was the first season they were trying it out in the United States for the first time.

So it was Trista Sutter. I’m just going off the top of my head. I could easily Google this, but I know Trista, Sutter, Kelly Monaco, John o’ Hurley, wasn’t it Vander Holyfield on the first season and then I don’t remember the other two. Let me Google it. Oh, Joey McIntyre from New Kids and Rachel Hunter the supermodel, formerly married to Rod Stewart, right?

Trita was the first one. Eliminated, then Evander, then Rachel Hunter, then Joey McGuire. Joey McIntyre and John Hurley and Kelly Monica were the final two. Kelly Mona wins and they just, people were so upset. They had a special rematch episode two months later, so it only aired from June 8th to July 6th. It only aired six episodes.

And then two months later, they had a rematch episode on September 20th and

John O. Hurley won and they made donations to Kelly Mon and John Hurley’s chosen charities. It’s like, okay, I different times back then, because my gosh, if people, if they had, if they had rematches. For winners that people didn’t like, we’d be doing it like every other season. It’s so weird that they did a rematch show when the whole point of doing a rematch was you knew John O.

Hurley was going to be named the winner because it’s like Kelly Monaco, our first winner of Dance with the Stars season one. Oh, we’re having a rematch in two months. Kelly Monica wins again. No, the point was, so they can name John Orley, the winner. So stupid. This podcast brought to you by factor.
