Daily Roundup 2/2 – More on the Love is Blind Allegations, Litia Off Her Podcast for the Time Being, Survivor’s Idol Search, Hilary Duff’s Dance, & February is a Perfect Month

You are listening to the Daily Roundup here as part of the Reality Sea podcast. I’m your host reality. Steve, thank you all for tuning in on this Monday. Good show for you today. We’re gonna talk a little bit about some notes from Friday’s. A Patreon live rewatch of the Muppets State Manhattan. Some quick notes for those that obviously did not see it or are not Patreon subscribers.

It was interesting. I also got an update on the Love is Blind Accusation Latia and her podcast she’s gonna be missing for a couple months. The Survivor Idol search, we’ve talked about this, it got underway. And I’m confused on what’s happening. Hillary Duff is performing and I’ve been introduced to a new dance, and also yesterday, we started the month of February, which is something very cool to me.

And I’ll tell you why’s, just my own little nerding out moment. So let’s get started. Just some notes from Friday’s Rewatch of the Muppets Take Manhattan. For those that don’t know, it’s on the Patreon patreon.com/reality. Steve and he did that one because the return of the Muppet Show is coming this week to Disney Plus.

I think it’s only a one off. Sabrina Carpenter’s gonna be in it, but all your Muppets are basically going to relive the show that aired in the early eighties. So I did a rewatch of Muppets Take Manhattan, which was the third movie for the Muppets, but it was the last movie that Jim Henson ever voiced Kermit among the other characters that he did.

Rolfe Waldorf, the Swedish Chef, and Dr. Teeth. But he was most known for voicing Kermit. The Muppets had three movies. 1979 was the Muppet movie. Then in 1981 was the Great Muppet Caper, and then 1984 was Muppets Take Manhattan. The next movie wasn’t until 1992, and that was a Muppet’s Christmas Carol. But Jim Henson died in 1990.

So, and I look, and maybe I’m just a stickler because I grew up at the Muppets, but the second Jim Henson died. I knew that wasn’t Kermit’s voice. It just, he sounds different to me now. It’s not a totally different voice, but it’s not the voice that I grew up with, which was, you know what we watched on Friday, there was a dirty dancing crossover in Muppets, take Manhattan.

I’m guessing nobody realized it. Even the people that were watching on Friday had no clue anyway. The plot of the movie is Kermit wants to sell a show that the Muppets are putting on called Manhattan Melodies. He wants to put it on Broadway. He sells this script to the son of a Broadway producer, and in the, in the movie, his name is Bernard Crawford.

Well, that Bernard Crawford characters played by a guy named Lonnie Price, who three years later went on to become Neil Kellerman in Dirty Dancing. Remember him? Kind of had a crush on Baby. Walked in on Baby and Johnny Practically doing it. Yeah. He was in Muppets State Manhattan, along with many other cameos of people that were popular in the eighties.

Linda Lavin, Joan Rivers. Gregory Hines. Elliot Gould. The list goes on. There were a lot, there was like 10 or 12 cameos, but. Muppet babies were first introduced in Muppets sake, Manhattan, two months later is when the cartoon came out. And again, if you weren’t alive in the eighties, the Muppet Babies cartoon was a huge, huge thing because we had only known the Muppets for X amount of years.

And all of a sudden, Kermit and Ms. Piggy are having this dream sequence during a horse carriage ride in Central Park, and they introduce them as little babies. Everybody lost their shit and then they made a cartoon out of it two months later. Anyway, Muppet’s Christmas Carol was the start of the new movies without Jim Henson Voice and Kermit that came out in 92.

Then you had Muppet Treasure Island in 1996, Muppets from Space in 1999, and then it took 12 years off and they came back with the Muppets. In the 2011, there was a movie called The Muppets, but that was with Jason Siegel, Emily Blunt, Jim Parsons, Rashida Jones, and then The Muppets Most Wanted, some of you might remember that for this particular point, but Ricky Jarre was in it.

Ty Burrell, Tina Fey, Ray Liotta. The thing about that movie is it created one of the more infamous memes out there involving Kermit. Because basically they had a bad Kermit in that movie by the name of Constantine, who basically just had on a little mustache and he wore a cloak, kind of like the traitors do.

And Kermit looked in the mirror and that guy was looking back at him, Constantine, and he talked a little smarmy. And you’ve probably seen that meme of Kermit looking in the mirror and looking back at him as the same Kermit, but with. Basically a hoodie on. Anyway, it was a lot of fun. If you wanna go watch it, you can still become a member at any point of being a Patreon subscriber.

patreon.com/reality. Steve, it’s five bucks a month, $48 for the year. Last week I mentioned that once the love is blind, cast members, names, faces, and taglines were put out there by Love is Blind immediately. That’s when T starts spilling. And people who know the contestants come outta the woodwork to say whatever their experience with them, good or bad.

And we, I alerted you to somebody who wrote on one of the pictures under one of the men. Oh my gosh. I never thought I’d see this guy again. He essayed me last year. And Ricky and Reality Ashley, with the Reality Receipts Podcast have been covering it pretty extensively. Well, this woman who wrote that, and then I read you her Instagram stories from last week, she put up a TikTok.

It’s about a four or five minute TikTok, I think, where she explains everything that happened. And then on the Reality Receipts podcast, you can go listen to Ricky says that she has spoken to this woman. She has spoken to another woman who came out after this first woman did and said he did the exact same thing to me, and then she’s also spoken to a third woman.

The second woman apparently is coming out with a video as well and is going to share her experience with this guy. The third woman says she wants to know part of it, but she did express to Ricky, he did it to her too. So this is not a good start. For love is blind. Again, this is something that happened after filming and the woman did not file a police report, so this isn’t on the casting department.

They would not know anything about this when they cast this guy. How could they? It happened after filming had already been over and no police report was filed anyway, so that wouldn’t show up in any sort of background check. Not absolving the show, but even this woman herself in her TikTok said, don’t blame the show.

It happened after filming ended, because I just see so many people in the comments, oh, I can’t believe this show. How? Why don’t they vet better people for the, it’s just like, you gotta understand the timeline. Now she has a TikTok out there. Before it was just Instagram stories that disappeared. Now she was putting her name and her face in a five minute video.

Out there explaining what happened. Like I said, we don’t just automatically believe women, but we listen to women. And now you can listen to her, see her, tell her story, talk about it, and then make your determination. Maybe you’re still not convinced, and I’m not sitting here saying you have to be convinced or you don’t have to be convinced.

But what I will say is takes a lot of balls. To, it’s very easy to go online and say stuff and put sentences out there. Even though she didn’t hide behind a screen name, it was attached to her Instagram account. Now, putting your name and your face and your voice behind a video saying, this is what happened to me.

This was the date, here were the details, and then we find out he allegedly did it to two other people. So I think that’s a big step. I don’t even know what’s gonna happen with all this. I don’t know if this means that she is now going to go to the police. Is it too late? Happened 10 months ago, nine months ago.

But the problem is for this guy, this accusation is now out there and we know how the internet feels about stuff like this. He’s pretty much guilty right now, and I don’t think he’s gonna be able to defend himself. I don’t think the show is gonna allow him. To take to his Instagram and start talking about this.

But who knows? Maybe, maybe he has to wait until the show ends, which will basically be the end of February, first week of March, something along those lines. But this isn’t good for him, that’s for sure, because now her name, her face, and her voice is out there, and she gave details about the story. Once again, trigger warning.

If you don’t want to hear it, I would suggest not listening to it. But this is getting worse before it’s getting better. This podcast is brought to you by Tonal.
