A couple weeks ago, Laia from grant season launched a podcast called Lonely Friends.
With Chase, who is the ex-husband of one of these secret lives of Mormon wives, the name escapes me of who he was married to. Anybody that watches that show knows exactly who I’m talking about. I think Kate, something along those lines. Anyway, Latia posted on Instagram over the weekend. Hi friends, for legal reasons, or wait, the podcast did.
Said hi friends. For legal reasons, Latia is stepping away from lonely friends until early April. Chase will be releasing solo episodes until we return. See you in April. Love Chase and Latia. So this is brought up two things that I see people talking about. Number one, Latia is off the podcast because she is filming season five of Secret Lives of Mormon wives.
She’s gonna become part of the cast. The second thing is she. For legal reasons is stepping away because she’s still under contract with the Bachelor. Remember, you are under contract and any media obligations have to be approved by the show a year from the time that your finale airs and grant’s finale ended last March the, I think the last week of March was the finale.
So. I tend to think it’s the latter. I don’t think this has to do with her filming season five of Secret Lives of Mormon wives because plenty of people in the past that have podcasts are filming a show during it. I mean, it happens all the time. People that have a reality show have a podcast didn’t. I mean, jacks and Brittany, they had a podcast.
Then they had one separately, but they did their podcast while Val was filming. There’s so many people that do that, and I don’t think that would be legally making her step away. ’cause it said, for legal reasons, Latia is stepping away from lonely friends until early April. That’s why my thinking is this has more to do with her Bachelor contract and maybe she either didn’t read her contract or didn’t think that they would care that she was starting up a new podcast, but.
I think it’s that. I don’t think it’s the fact that if she is going to be part of season five of Secret Lives of Mormon wives, I don’t know why that would stop her from doing a podcast. She’s not filming that show. 24 hours a day, seven days a week. She can get away and film an hour podcast once a week. I don’t think that’s a big deal.
So I know it got brought up this weekend. A few of you emailed me on it. Yeah, I think it’s the latter. I think either she didn’t know, she didn’t think a, B, C would enforce it because she started that podcast. I think she did two or three episodes. Right. And now she’s saying for legal reasons, I gotta step away.
Well, probably because legally she’s under contract with a, B, C for a full year from the time her finale aired last year, which was March, end of March, 2025. So that’s my guess. I don’t know if we’ll get a solid answer. Maybe we will once she comes back in April and she’ll talk about it and she’ll be like, yeah, that’s why I had to take February and March off because, but it’s just weird that she would think, Hey, I’m just gonna go do a podcast and do a two or three episodes and then realize, oh shit, I’m not allowed to do this until the end of my bachelor contract.
Also saw a couple things this weekend on survivor contestants. And people that are hunting for idols. ’cause you know, survivor is doing that idle search right now where 50 states are giving out clues to go find an idol in their state. And if you find the idol, you and one other person will be flown to LA for the live finale, I was under the impression that whoever found it first.
Gets it. Apparently that’s not the case. Apparently if you get there and find it, your name just goes in a hopper and they’re just gonna select somebody out of all the people that did find it or showed up that day and whatever the other thing is. I saw somebody’s TikTok who was at the one in Oregon, I believe it could have been a different state.
I thought it was Oregon. And essentially that person said, here I am in line. And it was just this long line of people, I guess, where the clue led them. So it seems like these clues aren’t very hard. And what they’re doing is all those people in line have to basically sign forms or not sign forms, saying You can film me.
I have no problem being filmed. And I guess they’re just going after these people to be a part of this so they can show the footage at the live finale of all these people across all 50 states hunting for idols. So seems like this was presented a little bit. Wrong, I guess, because when you first heard this, is that what you had in mind?
Everybody’s showing up at the same time and everybody being like, okay, you’re all now being your name is now being thrown into a giant basket of everybody that’s here and we’re gonna choose one of you. That’s gonna be the winner. Like that wasn’t the impression I got when Jeff said, we’re hiding an idol in all 50 states.
Go find it. So this thing already seems kinda like a dud. I mean, if you do get selected, pretty cool. You get flight in hotel room. I’m assuming maybe I shouldn’t jump to conclusions. I would assume they’re gonna pay for your flight and hotel room to come out for the Survivor 50 finale, the live finale in May, but.
I, I don’t wanna jump to conclusions ’cause I apparently I jumped to conclusions on what this was gonna be and it looks like it’s totally different than what they presented it as. Here’s something else that’s showing up on my TikTok feed a lot over the last few days, and that is Hillary Duff. She’s back touring, you know, she has her new song Roommates, which is a total banger.
And she has a new album, and I guess she’s gonna go on a world tour. She’s gonna start touring again. She hasn’t toured in like 15 years. It was either 2011 or 2014. I saw last time she went on a tour. Anyway, she’s doing all these performances. I think she was in LA at the end, end of last week, Thursday or Friday, and apparently one of the parts of her performance now is this.
15, 22nd dance that she does to her song with love. Now, I’ll be honest, I did not know Hillary Duff had a song called With Love. Yes, she is singing the Laguna Beach theme song. She is singing Lizzie McGuire stuff, but this with love thing is all over my feed and I don’t even know what it is. So I Google.
What is with love dance and apparently she’s kind of being self-deprecating, which I like. Anybody that can make fun of themselves gets an A in my book. Take notes Nick and Natalie. Anyway, so this with Love Dance. Apparently she performed this. In Times Square on like Good Morning America. One morning. You know how back in the day they always used to have performances out right out in the street in front of the studio?
Well, she did this and I guess she was made fun of for it back when she did this. I don’t know what year. It was a long time ago. 15 to 20 years ago, and it became iconic because everybody was making fun of her. Like they said, this was the dance you did live in front of an audience. And it just seemed very poorly choreographed, very robotic.
There was not a lot of fluidity to her dancing, and I guess I had no idea until I’d literally seen this video, not the video her per her performing this at her current tour 50 times on my TikTok for You page, and now it’s. And then of course, once you stop and watch that everybody else who wants to make a video performing this Hillary Duff with Love Dance.
I’m seeing those people too. Did anybody know this was a thing before? I mean, I’m sure diehard Hillary Duff fans knew, but is anybody else seeing this? Or am I in the minority because I love Hillary Duff? I had no idea this was a thing, but now, yeah, Google. Go to TikTok, do a search for Hillary Duff with love, and I’m sure it’ll come up.
And finally, I want to end with this. I’m kind of a nerd when it comes to stuff like this. I’ve talked about stuff like this in the past, but yesterday was February 1st. It was on Sunday. And because 2026. Is a non-LEP year. We do not have a February 29th this year. That means the entire month of February fits perfectly into four clean weeks.
When you look at a calendar, February 1st, on Sunday to February 7th, Saturday, then you look at the second week in the February calendar, February 8th, Sunday, February 14th, Saturday the third week, February 15th, Sunday, February 21st. Saturday. And then on Sunday, February 22nd, and Saturday the 28th, so there’s no extra rows.
When you look at a calendar for the month of February, you’d be like, Steve, why do you care about this? Well, I didn’t know about it until I saw the tweet about it, but the next time this is gonna happen is not for another 11 years. 2037 is the next time we’re gonna see this. So something that happens that infrequently.
I don’t know if it’s a, is it an every 11 year thing? I don’t know, but I don’t know. It’s just cool to look at the month of February and see a perfect calendar. There’s, there’s, you know, the first of the month isn’t starting on Monday or later, meaning you would, if you looked at a calendar, you would see the 31st of January in there.
And the last day of the month is Saturday. ’cause most calendars show Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday. So you look at that as well. Let me enjoy this. Please.
