Hey hey, we’re back with a “Reader Emails” column that spans emails I’ve received over the last two weeks since we didn’t have a column last week. Only about 10 today so lets start building that up more for next weeks column. Or else I’ll be angry. You wouldn’t like me when I’m angry. I turn very muscular and green and rip out of my clothes. Ok, maybe not. But a classic line from the “Incredible Hulk.” Some good questions though today surrounding the book Aaron gave Devin (is it the same one his brother Noah got from Bennett on Tayshia’s season), the Lovers & Liars finale, Survivor editing, and more. Not to mention, page 2 will also have your transcript for today’s Daily Roundup. I hope you’re still coming here every day for those people who don’t listen to podcasts. Your transcription of the Daily Roundup is posted here every day since April. So check it out.
One thing to get to before we start with the Reader Emails. Yesterday I posted on my socials that Joan was on another hometown date in Glencoe, Illinois. Here’s the information on it:
(GOLDEN BACHELORETTE SPOILER): Joan on a hometown date in Glencoe, Illinois today with Pascal Ibgui, 69 yrs old. He owns the Pascal Pour Elle hair salon in Glencoe. Ironically enough, they’re actually eating at Hometown Coffee and Juice in Glencoe in the pic. pic.twitter.com/gduo64496J

Now, I still don’t know if this was Joan’s 2nd or 3rd hometown. Or is she having four and this could be her 4th? All we know is her last two have been Chock Chapple on Sunday, and then Pascal yesterday. So we know they take a day off in between hometowns, so look for Thursday to be her next one if she hasn’t already completed her hometowns. As of last week, I know that Mark Anderson (Kelsey’s dad), was still on the show. But I don’t know if he got a hometown. However, I think if you pay attention to Joey and Kelsey’s IG in the next couple of days, if Mark IS getting a hometown, I bet they hint towards it. It’s not like they’re gonna post something that completely gives it away. I’m just saying to watch for anything they might post in the next couple days that hints at it. Could be a clue. Or maybe it was already filmed and just nothing got out. Time will tell.
Anyway, lets get started with your Reader Emails…
Hi Steve,
You said you had no reader emails yet so here I am to save the day, haha. I know you’ve answered this in the past (probably multiple times) but I can’t remember the answer. When they film the overnights, what does the schedule look like? The show portrays it as the lead has an overnight and then immediately turns around and has their next overnight, but there must be a day off between, right? Or is it really that quick of a turnaround – 3 overnights in 3 days?
Loving the new pic and looking forward to another season of spoilers and fun. Thanks for all you do to keep us entertained!
Comment: They take a day off in between each overnight.

What’s up Steve! Question, is it just me or was the fact that Jenn didn’t have her first kiss of the night (at least shown on screen) til first impression rose a little longer than normal? Feel like in prior seasons at least a guy or two would’ve snuck one in there before then. Thoughts? Or maybe this is a Bachelor Data/Suzana Somers question! Lol
Comment: I can’t remember how far back we have to go to find a Bachelorette lead who only kissed one guy on night one, but yes, it’s been rare in recent seasons. Same goes for the Bachelor. Which is funny because back in the day, usually the ONLY contestant who got kissed on night one was the first impression rose winner.

Steve, I just read a transcript of an interview with Emily Nussbaum, a New Yorker staff writer about her book “Cue the “Sun.” The podcast is in Apple Podcasts, but I scanned through the transcript rather than listen because I wanted to see what accusations she had concerning Survivor without going back and forth on the podcast.
In the discussing the show she relates:
“In 2000, Survivor launched, and from the earliest days, the production crew knew that they would need some help to create the high drama they wanted. So they had a crew of people dress up like the contestants and perform the challenges in the show to make sure the cameras got the best shots.”
She claims that all contestants have doubles!
Have you heard this before? I know the Bachelor franchise calls people back to reshoot, but I didn’t think Survivor would do something like this, if for no other reason than the cost.
Comment: Yes. It is well known. They do that in particular, for say a swimming challenge where we get an aerial view of them swimming, because they want to give the viewers a perspective without cameras being seen in the shot. So they’ll put workers in the same color clothes as those contestants are wearing and just take an aerial shot of it and play it while us the viewers are watching the actual water challenge take place. Doesn’t affect the outcome in any way since it’s shot before or after and it’s just done for aesthetic purposes.

Hi Steve! This is from episode one, but I still wanted to ask it because it’s bugging me. What was the deal with Jeremy, Brian, and the corvette? Jeremy made a comment about shipping the car from New York and kept referring to it as his car and his keys and he didn’t want Brian to drive it. Was it a prop or Jeremy’s car? If it truly is Jeremy’s personal car, then Brian is a very big asshole. I don’t particularly like Jeremy or Brian either way.
Comment: That was not Jeremy’s car. That was a car they clearly rented for the night. Just think what that would entail for it to be Jeremy’s car. Either he had to drive himself to LA from Connecticut without knowing whatsoever how long he’d last on the show. Or the show would have to pay a ridiculous amount of money to have that shipped to LA, then once Jeremy was eliminated, ship it back. Or he drives it back. Why go through all that hassle when you just rent a car for the night and just say it’s his?

Hi Steve –
You had mentioned that a past girlfriend faked a pregnancy with you. Has this experience and what you witnessed with Clayton caused you to be more cautious with how you meet women to date (e.g. no random girls from bars, dating apps) and how/when you approach them about taking them to the Reality Steve fantasy suite? Are you like Derek Jeter who, reportedly, would give women gift baskets when they stayed over? I picture a bag of goods from the RS merch line. Ha ha, no I don’t pull a Jeter on women. Don’t forget his alleged gift basket included a signed baseball. That story always cracks me up. Now, him having women sign an NDA before getting with him makes perfect sense. A lot of athletes do that. As they should nowadays. They’re worth too much and make too much money to not protect themselves. Also most have security confiscate all phones at parties they throw as well.
As for me, my life isn’t nearly that exciting to do that. I’m pretty picky about who I give my time to, and yes, I’d say a lot of it extends back to my ex more so than the Laura situation. I know what Laura did isn’t as crazy and uncommon as one might think, but I don’t let it take over my thought process when dating someone. Each person is different and I evaluate each dating situation separately. Am I a little more cautious as I get older? Sure. But nothing too bad.

Did you ever finish Lovers & Liars / F Girl Island after they pulled it off the air? I watched the final 3 episodes online and thought it had some good surprises. Well, I hadn’t until you sent me a video clip of the ending. Since I’d only watched the first 3 episodes, most of them I didn’t even remember. But good to see that everyone ended up splitting the money, even Benedict who chose an FGirl who was saying all season it was gonna be so easy to walk away with the money, then didn’t. Now, my guess is that none of them are still with their women, right?
Did you finish The McBee Dynasty? Overall I think the family made a mistake by doing it. If I were one of their lenders, I would be worried for a few reasons: 1) They seem to keep entering new businesses and borrowing. 2) The father has a very messy personal life. 3) The “smart money” investors backed away. 4) One has to wonder if the family is taking too much cash out of the business to pay for their multiple nice homes and the cash is really coming from the banks instead of strong business cash flows.
Comment: Another show that I gave up on after 3 episodes. Not because I didn’t like it, but because, well, I’m not sure why. Just never got around to watching it again. Have they said if they got picked up for a season 2? I did like the show. Maybe I will pick it up and finish season 1. But yes, the father is messy.

Hi Steve,
First I just wanted to say thank you for you statement on everything that went down with the horrorific events this weekend. You hit the nail on the head: this isn’t about whether you support Trump, it’s about what [I thought was] the one thing we can all agree on–just because you hate someone doesn’t mean you shoot them.
In a sick way it actually reminds me about what we’re always talking about with toxic Bachelor Nation [or social media with reality TV in general]: no matter how you feel about someone, it doesn’t make it okay to attack them.
In fact, whether it’s shooting at a presidential candidate or sending death threats to a reality TV star, all it really does is make the person doing the hateful action look bad, and if anything makes the person they are trying to take down into a victim/hero.
Comment: Yeah, regardless of how you feel about any candidate, and I’ve made it known I’m just not a fan of Trump and never have been, it doesn’t mean I want him dead. Nor should anybody on the other side want Biden dead. The division in this country is getting worse and worse. And Saturday’s actions did nothing to quell that division. A lot of rhetoric out there and the aftermath of the attempted assassination, from BOTH sides, is disturbing.

Hi Steve,
First, I am so, so happy that you’ve been on YouTube! I cannot wait till Thursday’s episode #400 this week. The clips you’ve shared of Clayton have been heartbreaking. It’s going to be such a brutally honest interview & I am so glad you are spotlighting him this week. I hope everyone sees a side to him that they haven’t seen before. And talking about things that maybe he’s never really gotten into before. It’ll be up at 9:30am EST tomorrow.
Ok, I can’t honestly think of a more aggressive “winner” with Devin. My goodness, this week’s show in Australia has given me the ick with him. Usually, the winner is just somewhere amongst the mix, but Devin is going full force. Can you think of another aggressive front runner like him? It’s been a while! On the Bachelorette side, no. But Vienna and Courtney on the women’s side were winners that were polarizing figures in the house. Courtney will be the first to tell you. She was super confident in herself and relationship with Ben, that yeah, she gave some ITM’s that turned people off. But Devin told us who he was in the first episode. Center of attention and loud. He’s holding true to form.
Second, this past Sunday, I had to step away for a while during your YouTube live, so I wasn’t sure if you saw my comment. I haven’t had a chance to go back & watch the portion I missed, so I thought I’d email it here to you. Last week, the Today Show tweeted an article about Devin, as an intro to him. I feel like the Today Show pulled a similar situation like US Weekly did with Kenzie winning Survivor. The Today Show has NEVER written an article about any one contestant. Yes, they have tweeted stories about the leads, but never about one specific contestant! I’ve been following them on twitter for years, so when I saw they specifically wrote one on Devin, I was pretty shocked. Guess they are following what you’ve been putting out on the winner! 🙂
Comment: Yeah, I saw that. I mean…

Hi Steve,
I have one more question.
You said that Sam M had a previous obligation to officiate his sister’s wedding. Is Jenn privy to that information from production, so that she sends him home early? Just curious if you know that level of info that happens on the show…
Thanks again!
Comment: I can’t say for sure since I don’t know what production told her, but I doubt it. Did they specifically tell her, hey, he has to leave so you might wanna get rid of him tonight? Probably not. But since he gets to the episode before hometowns, they could nudge her in a certain direction by saying things like, “do you really see yourself with him long term” and go from there.

Why is Madison prewett selling their house so soon? 1.4M
Comment: No idea. She’s someone I stay clear from and have no interest in covering. I couldn’t relate to her lifestyle and her preachings in any way, shape, or form, so nothing I add would be productive. I just let her do her thing. Not for me.

Could the Aaron thing be a family motivated, not-so-subtle, eff you to the franchise? Was it Noah that was given a self help book by someone (the Harvard guy) on his season and also painted in a negative light? That seemed familiar to me and wondered about this.
Comment: It wasn’t until you emailed me this that I remembered about the whole Bennett/Noah feud where Bennett presented him with some gifts, including a book on emotional intelligence. Then I did start to wonder, “Hey, is the book Aaron gave Devin the same book that his brother received from Bennett?” The answer is no. This is the book Bennett gave Noah:
The book Aaron gave Devin was yellow. I forgot the name of it and the author, but it wasn’t this one. Would’ve been a hell of a callback if it was the same book though.
