Hi Steve!

Had a funny question for you. I have noticed that many leads of this show (both Bachelor and Bachelorette) as well as contestants who seem to do quite well, are all rather religious. Specifically Mormon/Christian. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but it seems much more common amongst these people than in the general population of people I know. (I’m in my thirties and live in Chicago…so I see a pretty good sampling of people in this demographic).

Is this a coincidence? In recent memory I’m thinking of Emily Maynard, Jef Holm, Sean Lowe, Brooks Forrester, Catherine, Ben Higgins, Becca Tilley, JoJo Fletcher, and Rachel Lindsay. Any thoughts on this?

Thanks so much!

Comment: Maybe because they take it more seriously? Wait, Jef Holm? Did you say Jef Holm? Bhahahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahaha.

Hi Steve,

So, the obvious choice for ” The Bachelor” is Peter if we are going with one of Rachel’s guys. That being said, with what you know about who is on BIP and how that shakes down who would your best guess be to get the gig over Peter? Basically the one who’s going to get the Nick Viall edit!

Comment: I can’t think of one person.

Hi Steve,

I saw that Kristina, DLo, and Dean were together after the MTA. Are Kristina and DLo friends? Do you know how it is between the three of them now post-BIP? I see that Kristina is in Nashville with Danielle M. and Wells. Any chance of her and Wells being an item? Also, would you ever go on Jordan and Luke Rodgers podcast if asked? Have you ever interacted with Jojo or Jordan?

Thanks for answering!

Comment: I’m not sure of the dynamic between DLo and Kristina. What I do know is Dean and DLo are still doing whatever it is they want to call their hooking up. And Kristina isn’t a part of it from what I’ve heard.

Would I go on their podcast if ever asked? They’d never ask so it’s not something I’ve thought about. I didn’t even know they had a podcast. And no, never interacted with Jordan or JoJo.

Steve, I didn’t see Whitney’s name in your episode-by-episode spoilers. IIRC, she went to Mexico before the scandal … but didn’t return? Do you have any info for why that is? I thought she was the best looking girl from Nick’s season.

Comment: She was never in Mexico. She got a boyfriend, Raul, right before filming the first time and never went.

Brady Ervin just said on Instagram Live that he’s heard Chase might/could be the next ‘bachelor’.

Comment: That’s great that Brady “heard” that. It’s not happening. And for those that have forgotten, these were Chase’s thoughts on being the Bachelor last season when he got passed over. P.S. – Regardless of what he said last year, he’d jump at the chance to be the “Bachelor.” It’ll just never happen. Once they don’t get it, they act like they’re above it. Then if it were to ever present itself again, magically what they said previously goes away. Amazing how that works.

Hi Steve!

Just wondering- how do all of these former contestants get to go on all these trips? Example- many of the girls from Nick’s season in Punta Canta. Just curious how they make a living because for many of them it just seems like they travel a bunch after the show. Thanks!

Comment: A lot of it is free and they don’t have the most demanding jobs.

Hi! Why on earth are they doing a finale based around 3 people? I feel like maybe Peter DOES leave like 20 min after Eric gets sent home so they needed to kill time… this feels weird right?

Comment: Because the final 3 met her parents first before overnights, which changed the schedule. But we still have to finish up her date with Peter, then we still have to have Bryan’s overnight date, then a rose ceremony, then the final 2 guys getting a final date, then the final rose ceremony. That’ll easily fill two hours.

Hi Steve! I’ve been a bachelor fan since season 2, yet I can’t remember 1/10 of the things or contestants that you do! How do you keep records of the shows? Do you have every episode saved? When looking up info on past shows or contestants, where do you look to find out your info? When it’s your job and you’re essentially forced to spend a lot of time writing and thinking about it, some things just stick. Not to mention everything is on the internet. Not too hard to find if I forget something.

Hey, Steve,

I’m curious if you can offer insight into this topic – how profitable are the short-term, Bachelor in Paradise romances to a person like Amanda? I understand that it will likely increase her massive following, but I’m curious if, in your opinion, it is worth it financially? Personally, I would think that it would be slightly humiliating, especially after last season.

Comment: When Amanda went through her custody battle last summer and her finances were made public, it was shown she was bringing in over $20k a month if I’m not mistaken. You think she was making close to that before the show? So the answer to your question is yes.

Hey Steve,

Long time reader, actually think the show’s more enjoyable with your spoilers.
Me and a couple of friends were talking about MTA and wanted to get your opinion on something.

In your opinion, do you think Eric not being at MTA was a deliberate decision by production? The reason I ask is because race seemed to be a hot topic of the season, and should Eric have been there, would there have been questions about Rachel’s final two both being white? How can they put Eric at the MTA if he hadn’t been eliminated on the show yet?

I would like to think that’s a topic that wouldn’t be covered for the sake of not clouding Rachel’s happiness in her engagement, but I can’t help but wonder.
Also would this be the first time they haven’t shown the final two before MTA? If so, what’s your thoughts on the reason that chose to leave us on a cliffhanger?
Sorry for lots of questions, just wondered what your thoughts would be.

Thanks!

Comment: I’m confused on your questions.

Hi Steve,

I know it’s essentially Peter’s gig to lose at this point, but if for some reason he declines the Bachelor lead or they choose not to go with him, do you see Kenny being selected? It seemed like they focused a lot on his character throughout the season and definitely zeroed in on him last night, especially by bringing up his daughter and highlighting their relationship.

Another name that people are floating as a potential Bachelor option if Peter is not selected is Ben Zorn. It seems random, but it also seems like they could be setting him up for the story arc similar to Nick- where people are reintroduced to him in the BIP environment and then move forward into the lead position. Do you think he’s at least in talks with production as an option?

Thanks!

Comment: Kenny nor Ben Z. are going to be the Bachelor.
