Podcast #61 – Interview with Tori Hall of the “Challenge,” & Your “Bachelor” Episode-by-Episode Spoilers

Going through a divorce is never fun I can imagine. Now imagine going through that divorce publicly, your ex-husband has a new girlfriend, and it’s playing out on TV for everyone to see. That’s what today’s podcast guest Tori Hall from MTV’s the “Challenge” has had to face. For a long time, no one even knew they were separated because they chose to keep it that way. Tori spoke with US Weekly last week about her divorce from Brad Fiorenza for the first time, so in today’s podcast, we talk about how here whole “Challenge” career started, the early days with Brad, what happened to their marriage, and a lot more. I appreciate Tori being able to speak about this without trashing her ex-husband. No one wants that nor was it the idea behind the interview. Will Brad see it that way? Probably not, as he’s already been getting defensive on social media. Lets see how it plays out, but again, listen to the actual interview before you rush to any quick decisions on somebody. As always, if you want to respond to the interview, please include Tori’s Twitter handle (@ToriFiorenza) in your replies so she can see it. It was great having Tori on to share her story and I hope you all enjoy it.

(SPOILERS) Tori joins me to talk about her pageant days, how she got cast for Road Rules: Viewers Revenge (7:57), would she rather be on “Road Rules” or “Real World” (12:49), her first season of the “Challenge” (18:43), meeting Brad on the “Gauntlet” (26:11), being married to Brad and competing on “Cutthroat” (31:16), why they chose to leave the franchise after “Cutthroat (33:42), how her divorce first became public (36:50), when did things start going south in the marriage and the mistakes she made (39:31), a recent tweet where she threw shade at Brad (46:59), her US Weekly interview (49:52), will we see her compete on the show again (1:04:05), and we end with the Final 10 (1:06:29).

Your episode-by-episode spoilers starts on page 2. You’ve already been given the first 3 episodes of spoilers back on Dec. 5th and your final four breakdown on Nov. 30th. All I did was cut and paste those from the previous columns and added in episodes 4 thru 7 today so you have them all in one place from now on. Aren’t I a great guy? Enjoy…

When will we hear what the van at Laurens house means?

I don’t normally comment but I can’t help but notice that the spoilers aren’t as detailed as past seasons. Steve must of lost some good sources since we’re getting the spoilers late and they aren’t as detailed. I still appreciate what info he has given us but I guess I’ve just gotten spoiled myself.

I can’t stand when he says he has info or a spoiler and then not say what it is.

I can’t stand when Steve does that either. I’m thinking that he throws a bone to us readers to keep us logging in every day.

Exactly. It’s obvious he’s lost some sources. I still appreciate the spoilers we get, but it’s not like before. Hope he gets them back. He gets paid for every click on his site, so he he throw out something like the van, gets a lot more people clicking. The site is so clogged with ads now, it gets annoying. I’ve found a couple of other people with better recaps that aren’t so long. He gets so mad when people point out all the ads, but they’re gotten out of control. Can’t listen to the podcasts because of the commercials, get annoying. Then when someone pointed it out to him he lost it. Miss the days before the big money grab.

I access the site on Google Chrome and get one pop-up add at the beginning that I just X out of. The ads on the podcasts are few and far between – maybe two per 2 hour podcast? I don’t find them annoying at all. He does this for a living and needs to get paid for it. He’s providing us a service and info that we don’t get anywhere else. You say you read other “recaps” but the other recaps don’t have spoilers, especially if you don’t follow Bachelor people on Twitter. I have no idea what they’re doing other than what Steve reports. Give the guy a break! I’m a romance writer and there is so much self=published junk out there that “authors” are giving away for free or charging 99 cents, that romance readers have come to expect freebies and cheap books ALL THE TIME! As an author, you get slammed for trying to promote your books and get new readers. It’s a business and Steve’s blog and podcast are his business. People have gotten so spoiled and entitled. If you don’t like the way he markets his business, go read those other recaps that are just that – recaps. Steve still has the spoilers.

I suppose he had to make it known that he was aware of the vans at Lauren’s parents’ house, but I have to agree it seems like the sources must be drying up. Hope that’s not the case. Since BIP3, the shows just keep getting worse and worse. If the fun spoilers dry up, there will be zero reasons to watch.

Whenever possible, Steve likes to control the narrative. And, most of the time, he is ahead of the story, which is how he likes it. He reveals what he wants, when he wants, knowing that no one else has the spoilers.

Well, he’s not controlling the narrative about Arie, Lauren, and the van at her parents’ house. Someone else posted that and ran with it – and now, Steve is trying to play catch up. He’s not posting more because he doesn’t know more at this point in time. As he said, he’s “heard things,” but he can’t get them confirmed. So, for now, we will have to sit back and wait until he finds a reliable source on this one.

THANK YOU. Agree 100%. We all come here because Steve has the goods and he delivers!!! He is thorough and tries to get solid confirmation on information. People will never be happy. If he gets something wrong, they go on the attack (like saying Peter was the winner at first) yet if he doesn’t release information fast enough, people spazz too (I.e this new truck nonsense). People – this is a FREE information website. Let Steve do his thing. And I DO NOT see crazy ads on his site and I access via an iPhone. And his podcasts only have 2 ads in the middle. Honestly. Society of complainers.

Great to hear your interview with Tori. Why do I have the feeling should could have said much more if it weren’t for her completely appropriate desire to protect her children?

Steve, hope you interview Cara Maria after the Vendettas finale.
