Well hello boys and girls, great to have you back. I know some of you are visiting this site for the first time since “Bachelor in Paradise” ended and other than missing the spoilers as Colton’s season was filming, you didn’t miss much because I think those were the only days I posted anything since mid-September. Whatever the case, we are back in a big way and on our regular schedule again. Tuesday’s will have your “Bachelor” recap, Wednesday’s your “Reader Emails” (which I did once for a podcast two weeks ago), and Thursday’s will be your weekly podcast (with a new feature I’ll tell you about today on page 2) along with “Dr. Reality Steve.” So lets get the biggest thing out of the way and that is in case you haven’t seen them, here are Colton’s episode-by-episode spoilers for the season, which were updated on Jan. 2nd. I originally posted them on Nov. 28th, and there’s been a tweak to the ending. Nothing else changed, but there is an update to how everything shakes down at the end. When the show and Chris Harrison (and even Colton himself) promote in recent weeks this “Bachelor” season is something you’ve never seen before, it’s actually not hyperbole this time. I think the biggest mystery all season long is how this will actually air and if we’re getting one less week of programming this season because of the lack footage from things we expect every season. Should be an interesting ride to say the least.
A lot of stuff to get to today before the recap. I’ve got an update on the Fan Appreciation Party in June, my podcast guest this week, Cassie involved in another reality TV show, episode 13 of the “He Said, She Said” podcast, and Episode 1 and an exclusive clip from episode 2 of “Temptation Island” along with an announcement regarding that show. All Temptation Island stuff will be on page 2 and there’s a lot to cover as I tell you what’s going on this season. So lets get started.
For those that don’t remember the announcement back in July, time to start refreshing your memory as we’re only 5 months away now. The 5th Annual Reality Steve Fan Appreciation Party happens Friday, June 7th at the Rio All Suites Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. A LOT of you emailed back when I first announced this and told me you wanted in, and it’s going to work the same as it always has. First come first serve. However, this year because the room is bigger, I can invite more people. If we can get to that number, I can take upwards of 125 -135 people if need be. You will be on the confirmed list once you show me a flight itinerary if you plan on flying in, or a hotel booking if you’re driving in. Now I’m aware hotel bookings can be cancelled pretty easy and I understand emergencies can come up that are out of your control, but please only RSVP if you plan on coming because that spot I’m holding for you if you’re maybe on the fence could be going to someone who wants to go. I know the response back in July was huge as I have I believe almost 60 people already who said to put them on the tentative list. We’ve already got 15 flight confirmations, so those people are in.
While the party is at the Rio, you can choose to stay anywhere you’d like. I will have a hotel discount to the Venetian shortly. 15% off and there will be a link to book yourselves in the next couple of days, or a phone number to call. To reserve they want first night room & tax and you’ll be all set. For those that haven’t stayed at Venetian, for my money, it’s the best hotel on the strip. All the rooms are suites, so it is a little more pricey than any hotel, but definitely worth it if you ask me. So for any of the nights between June 6th and June 10th, your rates will be:
One king bed = $219/night (not including resort fees & taxes)
Two queens – $249/night (not including resort fees & taxes)
As mentioned, I should have the link to book within the next 48 hrs or so. So if you’re interested in staying there, just let me know in your email and I will send you the link once I get it. Also, I can confirm that there will be at least one Bachelor Nation representative there this year as if you listen to today’s “He Said, She Said” podcast, Ashley Spivey and her husband Steve will be attending, and she even promised she’d go even if she ends up being pregnant come June. I will send out feelers for others, but can’t guarantee anything. Ashley and Steve are in and can’t wait to see them there. Hey, maybe we’ll do an impromptu “He Said, She Said” show at the party?
Speaking of podcasts, I can tell you now that this week’s podcast guest is going to be Paulie Calafiore. Yes, this is going to be interesting. You know the story of how everything went down between him, Danielle, and Cara Maria. Then last week we had him being seen with Demi Burnett of Colton’s season in NY that created a sh*tstorm. I’m not a fan of Paulie at all for what he’s done and he knows that. He reached out to me and said he wanted on to tell his side. Told him I’d let him do that but also made it perfectly clear that I’m probably not going to believe a lot of what he says and he has to respect that it’s my show and I most likely will not agree with his view on things. I will absolutely give him his platform to talk, but going in (we’re recording later today), I’m well aware of his lies and manipulation. He says he has a lot to say. I will hear him out and go from there, but this is no doubt going to be one of the more bizarre podcasts I’ve done. Paulie has already let me know I can rip him a new one if need be. Lets see what happens.
Lets talk about Cassie for a second. I knew she had filmed a reality show in her past called “Young Once,” which was a docuseries that wanted to follow the lives of kids who went to college at a school (Biola University) where there was a contract in place for no drinking, drugs, and sex, when normally kids go to college for the exact opposite. Well, that season was 4 years ago and Cassie and her then boyfriend Caelan were on it. Little did I know that Season 2 is being released next month, and it’s basically an “update” on everyone from season 1 and where they’re at in their lives. You can watch season 1 and see the trailer for season two at YoungOnce.ca. What I was able to confirm was season 2 filmed end of August through the first couple weeks of September, which was just a week before she left for “Bachelor” filming (first night of filming was Sept. 20th). So not only will we see Cassie woo’ing Colton all season (and SPOILER, eventually end up with him), but come next month, we’ll see where she was with her ex-boyfriend Caelan literally like a week before she left to film for Colton’s season. Were they an exclusive couple? I don’t think so. But there’s no doubt there was some lingering feelings based on the trailer and the fact these two were on and off for years. Should be an interesting few months for Cassie.
Episode 13 of the “He Said, She Said” podcast with Ashley Spivey is now up for your listening pleasure.

In Episode 13, Ashley and I begin by talking about how the holidays were, the Christmas gifts we got each other, and her husband’s Eagles obsession (even though we recorded before Sunday’s game). Then our first caller Evelyn in LA joins us to talk about her boyfriend of 8 years who still hasn’t proposed and she doesn’t know what to do (10:45). Then our second caller is with Jenna in Atlanta who talks about the controlling emotional abuse she suffered at the hands of her ex and how that’s changed her (39:34). Then in our wrap up, we update you on a previous caller who suffered from herpes and where she’s at now. Original theme music provided by Kate Bass and the song is titled “Blink.”

I tried to watch last night, but just didn’t care enough. Flip back and forth between another show I like. I may wait until the final four to start watching again. Agree with RS, the first hour of crap was boring and totally unnecessary. Wondered about the Chris H. tribute too. Found the timing weird.

OMG! That had to be the most obnoxious episode of the Bachelor yet! When I aw that it was a 3-hour episode on the guide channel I wondered what they needed an extra hour for. I have to agree with Steve…all that fan screaming was awful, and SO unnecessary. I, too, had trouble following the show with all the interruptions, and finally gave up and went to bed and will attempt to watch the DVR taped version tonight. And, I have to say that the Bach alums who were “hosting” the live shows were quite annoying too – especially Blake and Jason. After watching them last night I wondered what I liked about Jason so much that I so wanted him to be named Bachelor. Could the two of them been more fake-excited about Colton??? To me they seemed to be trying too hard to convince us that they’ve gotten over not being chosen as Bachelor and over their “love” for Becca as well. Another observation: did anyone else take notice that during the segment with Bachelor kids that Sean & Catherine’s kids were not represented?? Isn’t Sean their poster boy?? I couldn’t help but wonder why they were left out. Very anxious for that 1-on-1 with Caelynn later in the season with the big reveal Chris Harrison keeps referring to.

I didn’t watch any of it, but I can imagine how fake Jason and Blake were, pretending to be happy for Colton. Everyone who appears on this show milks it for all it is worth. I’m sure both will be on Paradise this summer.
So glad to have Steve’s blog for the recaps. I still love to read what happened but have no desire to actually watch it myself. I just may tune in for the ending though, if for no other reason than it really has not ended that way before.

Thankfully I dvr this show because there was no way I could’ve made it through all of that drivel last night. They really are trying to milk the past contestants – between Kaitlyn, Jason, Blake, Ashley and Jared — the thirst is so real. I don’t think JoJo is as thirsty – so I purposely left her out. I guess I could say the same about Crystal and Goose, but heck, those two kids have grown on me. I think Jason and Kaitlyn are a perfect wannabe match made in heaven. Both think they are the most clever and cute.
It was cute to see the Bachelor babies. I didn’t need to see Ben. I also didn’t need to see a 50-something woman swoon over him like a school girl – that was an embarrassment. The Chris Harrison tribute was odd. Just odd.
I heard someone say that Colton looks like a grown baby. That is so true. He’s really no different than Nick Viall – both desperate for some type of fame but have zero in the personality department. Really just a couple of try hards.
I happened upon Bekah M.’s podcast giving a re-cap and I actually enjoyed it. She is brutally honest and I’m here for it. She’s clearly not trying to kiss anyone’s arse.
The only entertainment last night was the very predictable character of Catherine. She has clearly been cast for Paradise via Bach. She is so overly plumped and botoxed that she appears 46 rather than 26. My gosh girlfriend – too much.

I had to laugh Adelina when I read your comment because I was thinking the exact same thing on Catherine. These girls have some psych problems to even think they look good all pumped up and fake. She looked soo familiar to me and then I remembered. It was the 2004 movie with Hilary Duff, A Cinderella Story. Her step mom actress Jennifer Coolidge could be Catherine’s twin, you can google her and see what I mean. In the movie all she does is keep getting her face lifted and lips pumped she looks like a freak. It was an hilarious movie, And Catherine looks as old as that actress as well, a shame a woman in her 20’s looking all used up like that. As far as this train wreck premiere. Shows you how excited I was, I forgot it was even starting this past Monday, and I never forgot any premieres. I watched it on Hulu last nite and I’m glad I didn’t remember Monday. At least I was able to fast forward through all the wanna be stars.

Not really surprised that they dragged the show out for 3 hours, this show is ~50% filler all the time anyway. They spend more time talking about what they’re gonna talk about and what they’re looking for and why they are there (spoiler: it’s to find love), than showing actual conversations. I honestly sometimes enjoy the “blooper” moments at the end of the episodes more than the actual show where you get to see normal conversations/people’s personalities. This show would be more entertaining if the didn’t only show the “love” conversations with cheesy background music, or the contrived drama between the villain of the season and the other women.
