The “Bachelorette” Gabby/Rachel – Episode 8 Thoughts, Nate’s “Apology,” & Your Daily Roundup

-As for the Nate hot seat performance, it pretty much went exactly how I expected. Here is the exact transcript of what he said when asked about keeping his daughter from someone he was seeing for a year and a half…

“I went through a pretty traumatizing time when I went through a divorce and essentially the foundation that was built around my daughter — pretty much crumbled. And the one thing that I protect most on this earth is my daughter, like, I would never bring her into a situation that I feel is dangerous, a situation that I feel is unstable. And so it just made me put a wall up protecting my daughter from the instability of my dating life.”

Again, we’ve addressed this numerous times already, but that’s not answering the question. We’re not talking about introducing your daughter to Kelsey. You didn’t even mention the fact you had one. How he, and others, can’t see how suspect that is beyond me. This whole “protecting her” is just a line to hide behind at this point. He still has never given an answer as to why he couldn’t tell someone he was seeing on and off for a year and a half he even had a daughter, yet, he could tell Laree that (and also FaceTimed Laree with his daughter,), a woman he met on Hinge out of state within the first month of knowing her. Doesn’t add up and just makes the behavior very suspect at minimum.

And then when asked about dating two women at the same time, his response was:

“I would say I’m deeply sorry for the way that I acted. I should’ve been more communicative, I should have been more clear in my intentions,” Nate said to his two former flames who came forward to Reality Steve earlier this month. “And I pray that you forgive the man that I was because I’m not that same person…

I mean, the least he could do was apologize publicly, so very few credit points for that. But lets be honest, he only apologized because he was outed and he was on national television having to answer to it. Did he ever apologize to the women privately for how he treated them during that time? The answer would be no. In fact, you saw the text, when Laree actually confronted him about Kelsey, do you remember what Nate’s response was? “I’m sorry you feel that way.” So yeah, took no responsibility then. So yes, those were words last night on stage, and all we can do as viewers is take those words and hope he’s being truthful about being better in the future. Because actions speak louder than words. Anyone can say that when put on the spot and especially on national TV when he knows he’s gonna be judged for it. Will he actually change his behavior? Ummmmm, lets just say the early returns are it’s not looking good. He’s a single man, he can do whatever he wants, but I’m not so sure he’s all the sudden being Mr. Communicative about his dating life to those he’s dating.

-Can we all agree now that the Bloopers segment of this show is becoming much too overhyped now? We all WANT to see them, but I can’t remember the last blooper segment that was really all that funny. Why? Oh I don’t know, because half the footage always has to do with someone being freaked out by a bug flying around. Like, we get it. There’s wasps, bees, and whatever type of insect flying around and getting in someone’s hair or in their face and they jump up and run around screaming. It was funny maybe the first couple times we saw it. But now when every blooper segment is filled with at least 5-10 instances of it happening, the law of diminishing returns sets in and we’re over it. Then of course you have the equipment malfunction. Either a light falls, or the electricity goes out, or something breaks. Hee hee ha ha. Hilarious. All I know is every season people look forward to the bloopers during the Men Tell All, and every season we’re becoming more and more underwhelmed.

Next week is Part 1 of the overnight dates on Monday, Sept 5th. Then the last two episodes of the season move to Tuesdays. Tuesday the 13th will be Part 2 of the overnights, then the finale and ATFR is Tuesday, Sept. 20th.
