Well, it’s 2024 and I’ve finally joined the rest of us here. Today is the debut of the weekly podcast on YouTube, and what better guest to have than Clayton Echard for #400. Every week now not only will the podcast be available on Apple Podcasts and Spotify, but will also be up on my YouTube channel. I’ve embedded the video below. Clayton is about as raw and real in this interview as you can get. The first 30 minutes talk about the legal mess he’s been in for the last year, but it’s more focused on his mental health and, this being the first time I’ve interviewed him, we got to talking about his season of the Bachelor, which I found fascinating. Clayton couldn’t have been more open and honest about everything that happened this season. I can’t wait for you all to hear it. If you haven’t already, when you watch the video below, click on the Subscribe button as not only will all the Thursday podcasts be on YouTube, but also every Sunday night I’m doing Livestreams. I’m going to probably in following weeks, I’ll probably make it nine 15. I can make it a little bit earlier. I just didn’t want to, I didn’t realize once you set a time, you couldn’t delete it. So anyway, we’re also going to talk about the big brother premiere last night. I’ve already got quite a few thoughts on that.
The golden bachelorette. I think I might have another hometown date. How about that? And then as I’m recording this, I’m about four hours away from something I’ve been waiting for, for almost two years. I’ll tell you about that momentarily. This podcast brought to you by Tropical Smoothie Cafe. Tropical Smoothie Cafe believes you deserve a little vacay every day, not just once a year.

You can go to my YouTube page. The interview with Clayton Eckerd will go live. I’m sure it’ll be in your Apple podcast feed or Spotify, probably right around the same time in my column. If you can’t somehow find it, if. You just search YouTube and for whatever reason you can’t find reality, Steve, it will be the video will be embedded in my column today, which goes up right around eight, nine 30 Eastern time, which will also have a link to the daily roundup as well, along with transcripts for both podcasts, like we do every Thursday.
So I just wanted to throw that out there. And I do want to say, I think this is a very important podcast. I know maybe some of you are sick about the whole Clayton Eckerd story. We only spend about the first 30 minutes on Laura Owens. After that, it’s a lot more about mental health. It’s a lot more about his season of the bachelor, a lot of deep talk about.
Him being named as the bachelor starting off behind the eight ball, since we didn’t even know who he was when he was named the bachelor. His season was filming. He was a month into filming when his first episode on Michelle season season even aired the way they didn’t promote him. And when we finally got to see him, he’s reading mean tweets about himself on the, after the final Rose show, it was just a disaster from the beginning.
And I know it, he knows it. So I asked him a lot of the questions that I think a lot of you asked yourselves during that season. Most notably, why did you tell three women that you were in love with him? Why did you tell Rachel, Gabby and Susie? You were in love with all three of them. And he answers it honestly, it takes full responsibility for what he did, but he answers the question of like, this is what was going through my head at the time.
You might not agree with it. He answers the question. Which I really appreciate. And I don’t remember him ever answering this before. Cause he didn’t do a ton of interviews after his season because he was getting so much hate. And we also talk about his post show relationship with Susie, how it started, how it went.
How he felt, what headspace was he in at that point? You’ve seen a clip of it that I’ve played last week, but he was not in a great headspace for a lot of that relationship and you can understand why they ended up breaking up. So, so much there. It’s about a 90 minute interview. So check it out. It’ll be up at nine 30 Eastern time on my YouTube channel and probably right around the same time in your podcast feed, wherever you listen to podcasts, Apple or Spotify.
So can’t wait. And just remember going forward every Thursday, the Thursday weekly podcast will now be also in video form. It’ll be on my YouTube channel right around the same time it goes into your feed and I will put. The video, I will embed the video in my Thursday column on realitysteve. com. So if you don’t feel like searching for YouTube, but it’s also going to be a direct link on my Twitter, and it’s also going to be a direct link from my Instagram story when I post it that morning.
So. There’ll be plenty of ways to get to it. I hope you all go check it out. And if you’re not subscribed to my YouTube channel, just when you’re there, just hit subscribe, very simple. I’d really appreciate it. I appreciate comments underneath every interview that I do, because this is one of the first times, because I don’t have a reality, Steve, Facebook group.
I don’t really, people really don’t comment on my website very much. So. Any, and you know, I don’t troll. Obviously if you have constructive criticism by all means, put it in the comments of the video. But I just am curious to see for the first time after 400 podcasts, Hey, what do people think of the interview podcast?
Do you like some of the guests? You know, obviously I have a lot of repeat guests, Dave Neal, Courtney Robertson, she’s all batch, Kristen Baldwin, people that come on frequently. I’m just curious if you like them, if you don’t like them. I mean, I’m still probably going to have them whether you do or don’t, but I’m just, If you’re just going to say, Oh, I hate that person or whatever.
That’s not very constructive criticism. Tell me a reason why, or what you don’t like, and you know. You don’t have to, I would appreciate more compliments and not saying you have to compliment me, what I’m saying is I would appreciate you saying what you liked about the interview versus just tearing everything down.
I, you know, they’re sure there’ll be some trolls that get in because I’m not going to have anybody moderating the YouTube comments, but just With this first one, I obviously wanted to make it a big one. I wanted to make it somebody who hadn’t been on before. And obviously Clayton’s had a lot going on in his life for the last year and wanted to get him on.
I thought he was great, answered everything. I asked him super great, recorded it last Friday, not this past Friday, but the Friday before nothing’s really happened in the case since then. So just keep your just keep knowing that and go check it out. You can still listen to it when you’re driving in your car, but.
If you at any point you get a chance and you want to watch us. You know, talk to each other and watch it on video. By all means, it’ll be up on YouTube as well. Every Thursday podcast going forward, have a golden bachelorette update for you. So we know on Sunday, Joan had a hometown date and that was with chalk chapel.
It was in Wichita, Kansas. Didn’t have any pictures for it, but I know it happened then. Tuesday, we had a hometown date with a guy named Pascal Ibgui, and that was in Chicago. Pascal owns a hair salon called Pascal Poirel, Poirel, I don’t know, I don’t speak French, but he is, he was born in Paris. Don’t know when he moved to the States, but he’s been here a while.
Got two children and gave you his Instagram handle and all that. So he is had the hometown date on Tuesday. They actually went to a place called hometown coffee and juice, which is in Glencoe, Illinois, which is where he’s from. So yesterday I get a picture of Joan and a guy being filmed at the Chicago river walk, and I’m like, that’s weird.
Cause as we know, when this show films hometowns, it’s hometown, next day is travel, then next hometown, then travel, then hometown. They don’t do back to back days shooting a hometown date. So I’m like, this is weird. Why does Pascal get two days of a hometown? So somebody that knows Pascal, I sent the picture to, and I said, this is really weird that Pascal is getting a hometown date and back to back days.
And they tell me that’s not Pascal. I’m like, Oh, and the person who happens to know Pascal that I sent the picture to just also happened to know this other guy. Now I’m trying to, I just want to make it clear. Confirmed before I release anything, but they said, Oh no, I’m 99 percent sure that’s so and so and I was like, okay, well, I guess it makes sense if she has another guy in her final three or final four hometown dates.
And two of them are in Chicago. There isn’t, it really is no point to take a day off in between shooting hometowns because they’re both in the same city. I don’t know how far Glencoe, Illinois is from the Riverwalk, but I’m guessing it’s not too far to where they had to take a full day off to do travel.
So she does have a third hometown date that we are now aware of. It was filmed at the river walk yesterday. Once I get this guy confirmed and make sure it is him, I’m 99 percent sure it’s him. I just want to be a hundred percent sure. And I will post that today on my social media. So if you’re interested in that, I will get that out.
So now we know three hometown dates. This might be it. Maybe Mark Anderson is not getting a hometown date. Maybe he was eliminated in the episode before hometowns, but I know three of and I’ll post the picture of yesterday’s guy. Once I get it confirmed, but I’m pretty sure it is him. So yeah, I was just, I mean, what are the odds?
Because when I was sent the picture, I had no idea who it was. I was like, Oh, this must be Pascal because it’s in Chicago. Kind of looks like Pascal from a distance of the picture. And the person I sent it to who knows who Pascal is just happened to know who this guy is as well. I mean the small world, like what are the odds?
Because if that person didn’t know I would have had a picture, I probably would have posted it as, Hey, Pascal got a two day hometown date and I don’t know why, but that’s not the case. It is a second guy in Chicago. So now we know she’s had three hometown dates. I will post that today once I get it officially confirmed who it is.
