The Reality Steve Fan Appreciation Party in Las Vegas is a little over 2 weeks away. There were a couple cancellations in the last week, so some spots opened up. If you want in, contact me immediately. It’s first come first serve. I have about 6-8 spots left. If you’re flying, show me a flight itinerary and you’re in. If you’re somewhat local and can drive, I just need to see a hotel booking. The party is Friday night, June 9th at Mandalay Bay. There will be an open beer and wine bar all night, along with appetizers. The 3rd Annual Reality Steve Trivia Contest will also take place (that those at home can follow along with live on Periscope) with prizes going to the first and second place finishers. It’s been a fun event the last couple years, and I’m sure it will continue in the future. If you can’t make it this year, there’s always next year.
I know one question a lot of you have had these last few weeks has been about the “Paradise” cast. I will have a column next week letting you know everything I’m hearing about “Paradise” this season. There are definitely at least two things I know of right now that will be part of the show. As for the cast, SOOOOO many people are thinking they’re on it, and unfortunately, some of them aren’t going to make the final cut. There’s a lot of smoke screens going up, but, contestants leave for filming middle of next week with filming beginning shortly thereafter. The first 3 seasons were around 18 days of filming, so I don’t see why this one would be any different. I’m going to give a lot about what I’ve heard regarding some “couples” heading in to “Paradise” so you can keep an eye on whether or not that couple sticks with the narrative, or it’s never addressed on the show. Never before heading into a BIP season have there been so many side deals being made and hookups that have already happened. This is sure to be entertaining.
Two recent spoofs of the “Bachelorette” you may have missed. SNL did another one when Chris Pine hosted a couple weeks ago, but unfortunately it never made air. It was from dress rehearsal and didn’t make the live show. But it was still funny nonetheless. Here it is in case you missed it:
Also, you remember Molly Hawkey from her very funny videos during Ben’s season where she kept inserting herself into his season. Once the Ben & Lauren break up happened, you knew she’d find a way to make another one, and she did. Check it out:
And yes, Molly will be back this year as a “male” suitor looking for love on Rachel’s season. Keep it right here all season as I will be posting those weekly.
It may not be James Corden, and I may not being doing any singing, but the local CW news channel here in Dallas had me on as part of their “Commuter Convo” segment that aired last night talking about my job. Enjoy me in the passenger seat:
Ratings are in from last night, and compared to last season, last night’s premiere came in a little lower. It drew 5.7 million viewers and a 1.8 rating in the 18-49 demo. Last season JoJo’s premiere drew 6.7 million viewers and a 2.0 rating. Not a huge drop off, but I’m sure this will have the naysayers cheering saying this is the end of the franchise. Not quite.
