“Reader Emails,” Ratings, Chris Soules’ Gets a Big Fine, & Hannah Speaks on Her Season

So remember how yesterday I said I had spots open up for the Fan Appreciation Party on June 7th? They’ve all been taken. Will be the biggest one I’ve had yet in 5 years. Granted, I have a bigger room this year so I can fit more people, but the response has been pretty overwhelming since I first announced it in January. Well technically I announced last July that the party would be on June 7th this year at the Rio because that’s when I booked the room. Unfortunately no Trivia Contest this year, but, there will be more prizes to give away, everyone will have an equal chance to win, and some of Bachelor Nation have donated some of their products. I’ll be posting who donated next week. If you’re still interested in donating something that you think is a more female related product, by all means contact me asap and hopefully we can get it worked out. In return, your product or website will be linked on my site next week. And for those that can’t attend, I mentioned that I’m working on doing maybe a monthly giveaway for the site as a thank you to the readers for all these years. I will keep you updated on that in the near future once I get back from this trip in a couple weeks and get settled back in. Looking forward to seeing everyone who can make it out. Should be a good time.

Ratings are in from Monday night and the “Bachelorette” drew 4.52 million viewers (down from 4.6 million last week) and a 1.2 rating (down from a 1.3 rating last week). If you wanna compare it to last season, Becca’s second episode drew 5.78 million viewers and a 1.6 rating, but it was also later in the month. So numbers are down a little, but they’re down for every show. I will say this all day every day until I’m blue in the face. The show isn’t going anywhere. They win the women’s demographic of 18-54 pretty much every Monday night for 2 hrs and that’s an advertiser’s wet dream. You can’t just go off the numbers, because there’s much more that goes into ratings.

Chris Soules was ordered by a judge today to pay a $2.5 million dollar fine as a settlement in the fatal car crash he was involved in. Sentencing has been put off a few times now, but looks like maybe August is when he’ll find out if he has to do jail time, if any. It’s an awful story all around and you wish this didn’t happen. I haven’t been following the case whatsoever so I have no idea the details behind it. Seems like this was ages ago, but I guess these things can take a while. $2.5 million is quite a hefty fine for sure.

Hannah sat down with Lauren Zima yesterday to give her thoughts on this season and there were two parts of the interview that stuck out to me. First one was her talking about Luke P. and flat out admitting he made her cry the most this season. Gee, I wonder why?

Also, she talks about the fantasy suites and how she balanced her faith with how she acted in the fantasy suites. I’m no Sherlock Holmes, but those answers to me pretty much confirm what I think all of suspected, and that’s that she definitely had sex in the fantasy suites, which she obviously has every right to do and shouldn’t be shamed for it. Basically, that’s what she’s saying without saying it directly.

And oh yeah, Hannah did a Q&A on Twitter yesterday. Here were some of her answers (all non-spoilery of course)

Regarding Chris Soules, it’s not a fine. It was an amount agreed upon to settle the wrongful death suit filed by the victim’s family. It would be paid by his automobile liability insurance carrier. Any money out of his and his parents’ pockets would come only if the insurance carrier denied coverage and/or his policy limit was not that high.

What a terrible thing to have to live with. Such a sad situation.

Poor Luke P. I honestly don’t think he’s bad a guy. People have already made up their minds and they hate him. I hope when he and Hannah have the sex discussion, he doesn’t slut-shame her. We’ll have to wait and see how this mess plays out.

On the Spirit Airline thing, it is absolutely the worst. They have tons of convoluted rules, like the 40 pound bad limit and charged for carry ons that drive you crazy. But it’s even worse when one of their flights get canceled. They don’t even try to help. You’re told to call the 800 number and good luck to you. I do know some people that bought carry on bags that fit Spirits ridiculous size for a free carry on. So the system can be worked, but why? Companies like this shouldn’t be rewarded with our business. It’s just a dishonest company.

How is he NOT a bad guy. Have you seen his interaction with the other men… any rose they get is a sympathy rose but his rose is real — whatever!

Also, he’s controlling. Watch his interaction closely with Hannah. He’s quite smothering.
