You realize after tonight, we’re halfway through BIP? I’ll get to the schedule in a second, but just know that there’s still 3 more rose ceremonies to cover, and they’re basically only gonna cover 2 rose ceremonies in the first 6 episodes. So yeah, as we get towards the end, those will speed up a bit since the people who come on late are pretty irrelevant and don’t add to the narrative of the main couples of the season. The Blake stuff took up so much time, then dragging this Demi stuff out, I mean, last night rose ceremony #2 of the season didn’t end until 55 minutes into the show. Only one new person came on last night, and that was Caitlin. Tonight, only two new people come on and that’s Jen Saviano and Demi’s girlfriend, Kristian Haggerty. So we still have two more women that need to come on, Haley Ferguson and Tahzjuan Hawkins, which won’t be happening until next Monday. So we won’t be getting rose ceremony #3 until either the end of next Monday’s episode, or beginning of Tuesday’s. So knowing that they still have two more rose ceremonies after that to get through, the entrance of around 7 new people, then “decision day” for the last couples, overnight dates, then proposal day, that’s a lot to squeeze in.
It was announced that DWTS will begin Monday, September 16th, meaning Paradise’s final two episodes will be Sept.. 9th & 10th. As I told you last Wednesday, which zero outlets gave me credit for when they reported it yesterday, but Hannah will be announced on the cast when the cast is revealed tomorrow morning on GMA. Par for the course. God forbid they throw in one simple sentence saying “as first reported by Reality Steve.” Not that hard. Oh well. I’m used to it. Anyway, with that confirmation that DWTS will begin that Monday, now we know that the final two episodes of Paradise will be Sept. 9th & 10th. I can also report that they are filming the reunion episode next Tuesday, August 27th. Obviously only the major players of the season will be back on the show, and a ton of you have asked what’s the status of the couples. Well, everyone that was reported to be engaged are still engaged. Clay and Nicole are not together, Connor and Whitney are still together, and obviously we know Dean and Caelynn still are. The only one in question that has a different result from their Paradise ending is Tayshia and JPJ. They broke up on the show as you know, but they are currently seeing each other and are doing a horrible job of hiding it on social media. So there you go. After next Tuesday, hopefully I’ll be able to fill you in on what goes down at the tapings.
So, here’s what we’re looking at the rest of the season:
Tonight 8/20 – Episode 6
Mon 8/26 – Episode 7
Tues 8/27 – Episode 8
Mon 9/2 – Episode 9
Tues 9/3 – Episode 10
Mon 9/9 – Episode 11
Tues 9/10 – Episode 12 (Reunion Show)
It’s really impossible to tell you which people are gonna be showing up on which episode just because this show takes such liberties with how they drag stuff out. Reading the episode-by-episode spoilers, you know who comes in in between each rose ceremony and who is eliminated when. But matching that up with what episode that will happen in is damn near impossible. However, that’s your episode schedule for the rest of the season, now that we know DWTS premieres on 9/16.
A couple random notes from random contestants you saw me tweet about last night. First off there’s Christian, who got kicked off the show with Jordan for fighting. Well, don’t worry about him. He’s already moved on to another reality TV woman. Now, I’ve never seen 3 seconds of “90 Day Fiance,” so I have no clue who this chick is or what her story is other than what’s in the article. Congrats to these two lovebirds. I’m sure their love will last many, many hours.
As for Caitlin who showed up last night, I’m guessing most of you don’t remember her much from Colton’s season. Don’t worry, you’re not alone. And you probably don’t remember who she got involved with while Colton’s season was airing, so let me remind you. Soooooo yeah. You can see that her picker is completely off as well. And before you ask, yes, I’ve seen the tirade Chad has been on on Twitter recently, and these media dopes are playing right into his hands. The fact that they are covering what he tweets is EXACTLY what he wants them to do. Pay that guy no attention. I do.
And finally, today is episode 21 of the “He Said, She Said” podcast with Ashley Spivey. You can listen to today’s podcast on a number of platforms, but you can also tune in by clicking the player below:

Loved/hated that fight last night. Loved it because I couldn’t stand Christian and was so happy he got body slammed and kicked off. I couldn’t remember him until that flashback to MTA where he was so ridiculously dressed and such a d-bag. Hated it because I lost my fave, Jordan so quickly! But he wasn’t seemingly connecting with anyone anyway. I hope he can redeem himself. I would hate to think we’ll never see him again. I think he can do it, because he is so articulate and calm (when he wants to be, like in the aftermath of that fight.) Christian is just an idiot. I don’t seem him being back for anything.

Sorry. Jordan was all kinds of bratty and wrong. He is the one to walk up to mess with the piñata. He’s the one with the body slam. He has a screw loose. Whether you like Christian or not, Jordan was wrong. Also he destroyed what was developing between Nicole and Christian. There was a lot of chemistry there. Then Nicole ends up with nobody since Clay is looking like a commitmentphobe. Did anybody go up to Blake and bodyslam him on behalf of Dylan? So screw Jordan.

I agree totally with you about Jordan. Remember when he had the throw the stuffed bear in the water tantrum?

What a cringeworthy propaganda piece having everyone celebrate the lesbian couple. They wouldn’t have brought on someone else’s pre-show dating partner (and not a previous cast member on the franchise) had it been a heterosexual couple. Normally the rest of the cast would be a bit miffed that you came on the show while still pining for someone you were seeing before coming on the show. At the forthcoming rose ceremony there are 8 guys but 9 roses, so obviously Chris’s announcement to change the rules will be having Demi hand out a rose.

Kinda weird that people have a problem with a Lesbian couple on the show. Also, kinda weird that BIP thinks they’re being so cool and woke about it. For perspective, the time when it was really cutting edge, was when Ellen came out on her old comedy show…. in 1997! When are people going to act like this is 2019 instead of 1997? Gay couples are nothing out of the ordinary anymore. And for that reason, this whole setup with Demi and her current girlfriend brought on the show should be no different than if a straight couple did it. It’s really dumb. I guess that’s what we should expect from this show. I don’t know why I expected anything different.

I don’t think people are as focused on the couple being gay as much as how the show broke all their rules and set the whole thing up for ratings. Especially after the Jed fiasco and how it became such a big deal.
On another note, seems everyone on Twitter is rooting for Derek to be the Bachelor. It sure looked like they were giving him the edit last night.

Reality Steve, I understand, given the levels of skepticism and trash talking that you tend to get, why you are defensive about when and where you are “right” in your take on the show. But with this Demi situation, I wish you might stop and think a little bit about how far that rightness might extend and how important it is? I’m not saying she didn’t plan to bring her GF on the show, that it’s not deeply producer manipulated, or that the franchise isn’t profiting (cringe-worthily) off of their first LGBTQ couple. It’s honestly also cringeworthy at best to see a straight man trying to speak over a woman’s discussion of her coming out process. I’m not sure why being right about how she has experience. I’m not saying you’re necessarily wrong–I don’t much care, either way and agree that the way this is framed on the show feels like an obvious set-up–but it’s hard for any straight person to know what processing goes into coming to terms with being queer, even while in a relationship. I guess I’m hoping you might reflect a little bit on where the voices and opinions of straight folx are not the ones that need to be attended to.
